Aug 21, 2010The add/remove columns UI of TweetDeck android app is very promising. But I have no idea how to make one like that.
If I make it with HorizontalScrollView, and the children with layout_width set to "fill_parent" code...
I can't scroll horizontally and only see one view.
If I set the layout_width with number like this: layout_width="320sp" then the two columns sit next to each other and I can scroll horizontally.
Do you have any idea how TweetDeck makes theirs?

Enjoy.The company Swype has an open beta for Android users of their Keyboard Swype. It is currently free. All you need to do is visit Swype | Text Input for Screens and create an account. It has really made typing on the phone easy! You should check it out if you do not already have it on your phone.

Sep 16, 2010I wasn't even planning on doing it last night; just wanted to get the drivers/programs/etc all in line and wait for the official release. But once I actually sat down at the computer to get everything together I realized there wasn't much of anything needed for this other than the unrEVOked program (beta from the IRC channel) and the appropriate drivers.Any suggestions on "must have" apps to use on my rooted, otherwise stock, Incredible?I'm currently playing with WiFi Tethering and LEDs Hack. Other than that, I'd love to hear what you'd recommend!

Jul 14, 2010Was formerly using Swype and loved it, but this new keyboard is legit! It practically reads your mind and predicts the next word for you before you even start typing it. Not sure if I'm going to stick with it yet, but definitely going to give it a dry run for a bit.

Jun 3, 2010So I have a general question about manually installed applications, and more specifically, beta applications.
If you manually install a beta version of an application, can you install later release versions for that application as updates from the market? Or do you have to uninstall the beta version, then install the market version? I realize that you don't get update notifications, but I'm not concerned about that. I check the market regularly.
The reason I ask is I would prefer to not have to configure applications twice (specifically Touchdown).
HTC Incredible :: Using Launcher Pro Beta - Friend Stream Lost
Jul 9, 2010So I've recently started using Launcher Pro beta on my Incredible. Now since you can't use sense widgets within Launcher Pro you automatically lose the clock and friend stream widget etc. Losing the clock has been a non issue thanks to Beautiful widgets but I can't find an app that mimics the friend stream look and/or functionality. Right now I've just got the twitter app and the facebook app together eating up a page but it's less than ideal. Does anyone know of an app that even comes close to replacing friendstream?

Apr 30, 2010It is pretty easy to install. If you've installed HTC Sync it may cause an Android Debug Bridge error. If thats the case then just open task manager and close the process that starts with FCY or something like that. Once you get past that it will ask you to plug in your phone and install the software.

Sep 12, 2010I keep getting "failed to flash recovery image" every time I go throug the process on the Beta Test 3.21. Everyone seems to be having success.
I no that I have the bootloader installed and the phone is definetly on "charge only" mode when I try to use the program.
I know for a fact that there is no HTC Synce or anything downloaded to my computer that could hurt it because I am on a brand new computer.
What am I missing..is there something else that I need to download to my computer or phone to make it work?

Nov 16, 2010First of all, I swear I did a search, but I can't come up with an answer. I am using the Vlingo in car beta, and it actually listens to me most of the time. The only thing I can't do is get it to answer a call. I thought you could say "answer" and the call would pick up. Am I wrong? Is it because I'm still running 2.1 (Tmo Vibrant)?
