Android :: Audible Beta Available
Jun 5, 2010If you've been waiting for audible to hit android like I have, then I have some good news if you subscribe to the US audible site.Unfortunately, it only supports the american site so far, but apparently the other sites are coming soon. I'm still downloading a book atm, but from what I've seen, the app is pretty sweet.

Jan 1, 2010I found this today. Since Sherpa doesn't seem to be available anymore there is hope that they are improving it or making it open for all. I just installed it on my Eris and look forward to using it soon. All they ask is you fill out some basic info and then you have to manually install it to your phone. I have a excellent link for that but seeing how I am the rookie around here I doubt I need to give that tip.

Oct 1, 2010Audible selections do not make any sounds anymore. It was working fine today; later on, however, I had suddenly noticed that whenever I touch various buttons, icons, widgets, etc. on the screen, there was no audible sound. I tried rebooting, but that did not help at all. Also tried unchecking & checking the Audible Selection box, problem still remained.

Oct 14, 2010I've had my brand new Droid Incredible for less than a day. It replaced a BlackBerry Curve that I had for several years and really liked. One nice feature the BB had was that it would shift from ringing mode to vibrate mode by simply slipping it into its case. Absolutely nothing had to be done to the device itself, other than configuring it to do this. Given that Android phones don't have this feature, what is the simplest and quickest way to move around among ring, vibrate, and silent modes of operation? Any way to do it with a single tap or two?

Apr 26, 2010I bought an Eris on the 28th, but returned it sunday within the 30 day grace period to wait for the incredible. And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?

Enjoy.The company Swype has an open beta for Android users of their Keyboard Swype. It is currently free. All you need to do is visit Swype | Text Input for Screens and create an account. It has really made typing on the phone easy! You should check it out if you do not already have it on your phone.

Sep 16, 2010I wasn't even planning on doing it last night; just wanted to get the drivers/programs/etc all in line and wait for the official release. But once I actually sat down at the computer to get everything together I realized there wasn't much of anything needed for this other than the unrEVOked program (beta from the IRC channel) and the appropriate drivers.Any suggestions on "must have" apps to use on my rooted, otherwise stock, Incredible?I'm currently playing with WiFi Tethering and LEDs Hack. Jul 14, 2010Was formerly using Swype and loved it, but this new keyboard is legit! It practically reads your mind and predicts the next word for you before you even start typing it. Not sure if I'm going to stick with it yet, but definitely going to give it a dry run for a bit.

Jun 3, 2010So I have a general question about manually installed applications, and more specifically, beta applications.
If you manually install a beta version of an application, can you install later release versions for that application as updates from the market? Or do you have to uninstall the beta version, then install the market version? I realize that you don't get update notifications, but I'm not concerned about that. I check the market regularly.
The reason I ask is I would prefer to not have to configure applications twice (specifically Touchdown).
HTC Incredible :: Using Launcher Pro Beta - Friend Stream Lost
Jul 9, 2010So I've recently started using Launcher Pro beta on my Incredible. Now since you can't use sense widgets within Launcher Pro you automatically lose the clock and friend stream widget etc. Losing the clock has been a non issue thanks to Beautiful widgets but I can't find an app that mimics the friend stream look and/or functionality. Right now I've just got the twitter app and the facebook app together eating up a page but it's less than ideal. Does anyone know of an app that even comes close to replacing friendstream?

Apr 30, 2010It is pretty easy to install. If you've installed HTC Sync it may cause an Android Debug Bridge error. If thats the case then just open task manager and close the process that starts with FCY or something like that. Once you get past that it will ask you to plug in your phone and install the software.

May 25, 2010I set up a family group in "people". When I send an MMS pic to the group it ends up sending it to all their email addresses instead of their mobile numbers. Everything looks right in their contact info and it seems like it should be defaulting to their mobile number when you add them within the "messaging" app.
It works fine when I add everyone manually since it asks me if I want to send to their mobile number or their email. I just want it to default to their mobile numbers if I am working within the messaging app. It's not a deal breaker but kinda annoying since we all send each other pics all the time and having a group set up to do it was actually really easy on my old Windows 6.1.

Apr 29, 2010Is there a way to sort your favorite group list. I want to be able to sort my top 10 people I always call in importance like Home, Wife, Work, etc., but it sorts it in alphabetical order. Anyone know a trick to sort it the way I want?
