HTC Incredible :: Swype Beta Link
Jun 21, 2010I received the following email from androidplayground.net today and thought I'd pass it along. I installed and it works. Enjoy.The company Swype has an open beta for Android users of their Keyboard Swype. It is currently free. All you need to do is visit Swype | Text Input for Screens and create an account. It has really made typing on the phone easy! You should check it out if you do not already have it on your phone.

Jun 14, 2010I have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor.
This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work.
Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView?
I am using API v4 (1.6).

Nov 16, 2010First of all, I swear I did a search, but I can't come up with an answer. I am using the Vlingo in car beta, and it actually listens to me most of the time. The only thing I can't do is get it to answer a call. I thought you could say "answer" and the call would pick up. Am I wrong? Is it because I'm still running 2.1 (Tmo Vibrant)? Does this work in 2.2? Any tips you have would be appreciated.

Aug 1, 2010I'm told that the android 2.2 OS uses Flash 10.1...correct? Can someone explain what the enhancements in 10.1 Beta 3 are? I've read that it's for android 2.2. Since I have already installed 2.2 on my EVO, are there any benefits to the beta version? Has anyone installed this as of yet? and what improvements do they see.

Jan 1, 2010I found this today. Since Sherpa doesn't seem to be available anymore there is hope that they are improving it or making it open for all. I just installed it on my Eris and look forward to using it soon. All they ask is you fill out some basic info and then you have to manually install it to your phone. I have a excellent link for that but seeing how I am the rookie around here I doubt I need to give that tip.

The app is very simple...it just creates a pre-populated email to send to yourself (or whomever is set up in the configuration). I updated the app to allow you to use custom icons for the home screen shortcuts, but I also cleaned up the code a bit and I want to make sure nothing got messed up as a result.

Android :: Beta Testers Needed With DROID For GMoN
Nov 30, 2009I read in the comments for my app G-MoN, that it crashes on the droid. It runs perfectly on my Milestone. So the differences in gsm and cdma version might be the problem. I modifed the attached G-MoN version to run also on cdma phones. Please try it. If there are still crashes, please send me a logcat copy if possible. G-MoN is a wardriving scanner.
