I woke up at 11 AM this morning and my phone did NOT wake up tocook breakfast for my mom.I set it for 8:15 AM and it didn't even wake up.Is anyone elses phone not cooking Mother's Day breakfast when prompted?

I'm not sure if this is worth complaining about but is anybody else experiencing their phone waking up on its own while it's connected to the charger? I'm not sure when it started exactly but I'm sure it was after I updated to OTA 2.2.It's not hot or does anything else just that the screen turns on, stays on for like 2 seconds, and than the screen turns off. It seems to occur randomly. Is anybody else having this issue?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI would gladly pay money (and i'm sure a lot of eris -> incredible users would too) for an app/patch to give me the option to use an alternative key/button (menu/home button, or even vol rocker?) to wake up the phone when it's in sleep mode. It was one of the major reasons why I ended up returning the moto droid for an eris (the eris has a power button on the bottom of the phone). Would root be required for this kind of mod?

Lock and power buttons do nothing and it needs me to pop the battery to get it back.I don't want to push anyone down this line, but I get the feeling it's related to being in the stock case?Any ideas, it's been happening a couple of times a day for the past few days now?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is a common problem with the Behold 2 or not, but my phone isn't automatically reconnecting to wifi after waking up from sleep.I have to manually toggle the wifi switch to off and then back on for it to reconnect.I'm using Warheads Rom with new kernal if that helps at all.

But I installed Nonsensikal 13.2 about a week ago, love it, and was about to basically settle on this as my default rom until Saturday. Starting Saturday my phone has become non-responsive about 5-6 times. Meanin the lock screen won't come on, and the power button will not turn the phone on or off.I'm assuming this means that the phone is still on when this happens, because if it had just powered down randomly I'd think the power button would turn the phone back on I have to pull the battery out and power it back on to start working again. I don't have setcpu or autokiller running, but I am running juicedefender (in case any of that is helpful for anybody.)

I tried using the dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) method, but it doesn't prevent the phone from waking up.

View 2 Replies View Relatedit's very difficult to wake the screen back up because of all the power saving things that go into effect when you turn the screen "off" using brightness = 0;Let me first point out that I'm not really tied to power constraints in this particular application.One of my assumptions is that this device (Droid) will be plugged in when this application is run. Ideally, I'd like to not hammer the battery if I don't have to, but I'm open to it if it's the only way.So, back to the issue when the display is off, pretty much everything shuts down.For instance, one idea I had was to shake the display back awake by reading the accelerometer.However, as soon as the display goes off, my listener that was reading values from the accelerometer (be it in an activity or a service) stops echoing values.I can't register any key listeners because when the display is off, if I press anything other than the unlock button (e.g. volume up/down, camera button, etc.)
In short, it appears that once the display goes dark, the only way to interact with the user is by hitting the "unlock" button.This isn't ideal because it's awkwardly placed.I had *really* hoped to be able to re-activate the device by pressing anywhere on the touch screen.I can understand that the touch screen is disabled for power reasons, but I was hoping I could override that(given I don't mind the power draw).Failing at that, I'd settle for any of the accessible keys (even the keyboard) reacting to user input and waking the thing up.
I'm curious if anyone has noticed the phone and/or screen waking up during charging. It's not a full "wakeup" as if I hit the power button. But rather the 20 seconds or so that it comes on when you put the phone on or take it off the charger. I've got the battery status widget and I've noticed that it happens everytime at either 95% or 96% status. No other % and only once.I though maybe my charger had an intermittent short, but I'm off for the holiday weekend and noticed it for the third time in the last two days all while sitting perfectly still with no one near it.Just wondered if anyone else has noticed it waking up while charging for no apparent reason...

turned off every sensor, turn of flight mode.overnight 10% ~15% battery loss.
most of the power is consumed by Android OS. other apps combined doesn't seem much.the reason is that it is frequently awaken.
i don't know why the Android OS is awaken that often. there must be some hidden app who caused this.
how can i find out who is responsible for waking up Android OS?
I have this really annoying problem that I've seen mentioned here but I can't find a specific thread on the subject. This first started happening after the December update. When I push the end button to "turn on" the phone (i.e., wake the phone up), I get a black screen with the HTC symbol monentarily. Then, once that goes away, my background appears but nothing else except the waiting icon. I've been told that this is a conflict between something I have installed and the Sense UI.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI picked up the Sprint HTC Evo. This is my first android phone and it's a big upgrade from the windows based HTC Touch Pro that I used to put up with. However, every single notification makes a massive, loud, Beep And I can't figure out how to turn the volume down on it, except to put the phone in vibrate mode. Windows had two volumes: one for system, and one for the ringer. That made a lot of sense.
I think my co-workers are going to get really angry with me if I don't figure this out soon. At first, it was just text messages, but now it's facebook and everything else. Can someone please tell me how to shut up this dumb robot?
I'm not sure what info I need to give you about this, but it's the launch version of the Evo, I did not change anything related to this problem - still using the default applications and such.

Auto-rotation for keyboard when answering a text message received in sleep mode does not work. If I actively send a text when phone is already awake, keyboard rotates with no problem but when I go to reply to a text that I received while phone is in sleep mode, the keyboard does not rotate. Is this the norm?I am also experiencing a delay when the I wake the phone. After unlocking the phone, I used to go straight to my home page, now I get a "loading" message which takes several seconds. Is this due to the number of apps I have loaded? Is it possibly due to number of photo frames I have on my home screen or the complexity of the wallpaper?

And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo i think i might have the first shattered Incredible screen. I dropped it from two feet onto the metal camera protruding part. It hit with very little force. You can barely even see the mark from falling. So i pick it up and notice the entire screen is shattered when the screen was face up, the screen didn't even hit the ground! I can't believe how thin the Incredible screen is, it literally crumbled jut from the force of a light fall. I'm unimpressed in the build quality of the glass. I want to contact HTC about this and see if they can help me out, it seems like a manufacturing defect, maybe a weak screen? I need to find the biggest case that i can find for my replacement, one that could absorb a fall if it falls on the back part. I am thinking maybe a pillow as a case? That might help. Now im out ANOTHER 100 bucks to make an insurance claim on this. I highly recommend people keeping the insurance, the screen blows up even if it is not directly the part that hits if it is dropped.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a window mount off ebay for my Inc and have been loving listening to Pandora and using the Navigation program while driving.
This weekend I drove a couple of hours back and forth to see a friend and both times I had issues with the amber notification light starting to blink. I had the phone plugged into the Verizon car charger. Could it be that the battery was getting too hot and this was the phones way of notifying me? I live in Florida so it would make sense that the phone was getting rather warm in the window mount.
Anybody else have this issue?
Can this cause any damage to the phone or the battery? Am I OK as long as I pull the phone down out of the heat whenever I notice this happening?
Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

There are lots of times that while on a call you need to hit a number to transfer and the screen times out way to fast and you end up accidentally, while trying to get the screen to wake up, that you hit the wrong number whlie the screen is dark. There has to be a setting somewhere for this. Any suggestions?
