HTC Incredible :: Looking For A Good Fitness And Calorie Counter App
Jun 18, 2010
I'm looking for an app that I can record how many calories I eat by entering the food I ate. I also want to be able to record my workout, and show how many calories I burned. So what's a good app?

I will be switching from an iPod Touch to the new Droid X in September and have been researching the apps that match those I have learned to depend on. I am now using a diet/calorie program that allows me to enter a daily calorie budget, allows me to enter the foods I eat during the day (I can enter new foods and calories in addition to those in the database), and gives me the number of calories I have left for the day. It also allows me to keep up with my weight. Is there an android program that would allow this? I don't have to have the weighing segment, but I really use the ability to enter meals and see how many calories I have left.

I notice that when typing a long SMS, once you enter the second or third SMS, they are no longer starting at 160 characters. It's like you're down to (1/160)1, and then you type a simple 2 letter word like "to". You think that would change it to (159/160)2 but instead it becomes like (145/153)2.

I have nothing in my inbox and the little mail icon refuses to say "0". It has been stuck on "4" for several days. Is there a way to reset the counter? I searched but didn't find any topics on this.

I've tried Cardio Trainer, Jog Tracker and SportyPal, and all three crash my Droid before the workout is finished. I'm only using them for walking, so it's not as though I'm knocking anything loose. Usually I get to the end of a workout, and either the phone has already rebooted, or I click "finish" and the fitness app tells me it has crashed, and my workout was lost. Has anyone else experienced this frustration with these apps? Is there one you use regularly that doesn't crash when others have?

I think I've found the battery culprit on my wife's new Incredible. We both got new Incredibles and pretty much set them up the same, except she has to use Good for Enterprise to manage her company email/calender. My phone sleeps like it should, but her phone has been awake 100% of the time since she downloaded Good. After a week of trying to figure out what is keeping her phone from sleeping, I think I have found the answer (and developed a mild case of OCD).
My question is: does anyone know how to set the sync interval for Good? The problem seems to be that it is constantly syncing, which never allows the phone to go to sleep (Up time = Awake time).

I currently have SportsTap. I like it so far but I do which their wasn't a limit of 7 teams to follow. Is their any other good Sports Apps with news and scores? Does ESPN or CBS Sports have an android app out yet?
I'm also looking for a good workout app. Something that can be like a personal trainer to me in setting up workout routines and tracks my progress.

My Incredible has 1/2 bars most of the time. This would be ok if my data speeds weren't so terrible. Most of the time my DL is at 250kbps. The only time I had 4 bars was at the Verizon store, where I got 1.7Mbps DL. Are you guys and gals happy with your data speed?

Ok so after messing around with both the X and Incredible and literally WAY too much time spent researching, Ive pretty much made my decision with the Incredible. But now it has me thinking again. Is it really a good time to upgrade? I feel like the Incredible is starting to phase out a little (Or thats the feeling I get from some people) and I wonder if maybe I should just wait for the next HTC phone, or if this is the perfect time to upgrade.Im still unsure if I can do a 1 year plan(I need to talk to a VZN rep) instead of a 2 year plan, but if I can I would be a little more comfortable upgrading from my dinky LG Dare right now. Again, do you personally think it is a good time to upgrade to my first smartphone or simply waiting a little while for something else to come along?PS. I also keep hearing about an Incredible 2.any news on that?

Has anyone found a good ringtone for text messages? It seems like the ringtone and text tones have to be the same volume, and unless I want to crank up the volume on my phone (which makes the ringtone way too loud) I can't hear when I get a text message. I've tried a number of different tones (default phone options and some I've found on Zedge) but none really work for me. I love the one I had on my old LG phone, but can't find anything like it.

Has anyone else noticed that calls placed using Google Voice don't sound as good as a regular cell call? I hung up from a friend and called right back using Google Voice, and it was more difficult to understand. I was using my bluetooth speakerphone, and their voice kept fading in and out. So I hung up again and called back via the handset, and experienced the same problem. I did this last week and also had this problem, but thought it may just be a temporary glitch. Apparently I also sounded fuzzy to them. Shouldn't be too much different from a normal call should it? It's just basically calling a Google number, and then Google is calling to the actual number you want to call.
