HTC Incredible :: How To Sell Phone?
Oct 5, 2010
I've had my Incredible since it came out and have loved it, but i'm a little short on money and am thinking about selling my Incredible and just going back to a flip phone I still have. My question is, how do I go about doing this? Say I wanted to sell it on Ebay, or anywhere for that matter. I know that I can activate my old phone, but how do I make the Incredible ready to be owned by someone else? I'm not totally familiar with the whole 'ESN' stuff and how it would work with phone numbers etc.

I'm a soon to be Android owner and will probably start using this forum often, but I currently have an iPod Touch. I'm upgrading from my Blackberry Storm (for obvious reasons) to the HTC Incredible. So I'm having a tough time deciding if I should sell my iPod Touch when I get the Incredible. Is the music player as user friendly and high quality as the iPod's? How is the browser speed over WiFi?

I want to get rid of my Hero since the EVO is coming soon. But its pretty obvious that unlike GSM phones I cant just pop the SIM and sell it.I need some help on how to sell my phone and stay on contract the same time... I want to sell it before release day for the EVO so it wouldnt be as simple as pushing over my number to the EVO.... SO how do I sell my phone and keep my contract going. help please??

I am in total utter shock right now. I have finished porting my game to Android and now I can't sell it because I am Canadian? I guess I should have looked into this before hand and hence I feel like a bit of an idiot but come on. Is there any way around this?

I have 3 existing Sprint lines, month-to-month now after contract expired. I'd like to do the following:
Get a "Everything data family" plan
Get 3 new EVOs
Activate only 1 EVO, other 2 family members are non-technical, couldn't care less about gadgets and want to keep their old phones they know how to use
Sell 2 brand new in-box EVOs on ebay for about $500 each (that price might go down as supply increases, but still should be a nice profit over the $199 I'll pay for the phones)
De-activate the $10/mo 4G surcharge on the other 2 lines
Of course I'll be committed to a 2-year contract on the "Everything data family" plan and the other 2 lines will make minimal use of the data, but it's still a lot cheaper to do it this way than to create a new individual plan for the EVO and keep the basic family plan for the other 2 phones.

Is it already possible for people outside US and GB to sell applications on the market? Because i want to set up a merchant account and on the form it is only possible to choose between US/GB for my location!?May this is only possible when we will receive the android update (market is then no beta version)?

I would like to distribute my app for free, and then sell extra features that can be added-on later. Is it possible to do this?

I'm looking at ways to sell my app to countries where Android Market does not allow people to buy apps (only free apps available in market).
I was looking at Slideme.org, but most of the apps there seem free and the details on their website seem scant about how to actually setup an account so they can pay me using say PayPal. Also, I couldn't reach them by phone, so I'm guessing its a pretty small operation.
I was also thinking about using Google Checkout to sell directly from my website. Would use a buy now button for digital content delivery, using a server 2 server back end post to send a license key to Google checkout which they only show to user after they've paid (or authorized, or something). User would then enter license key on my website using an Android phone browser only and if key is good would get redirected to the .apk file for download.
Still lots of risks for piracy. I suppose having the user enter the license key in the app itself and having the app communicate back with the server for validation might be better, and there are other solutions for that as well.
My main questions are: - Does anyone have experience using SlideMe for actually selling apps, and are they good with service and getting you paid? -Is there any issue with using the same Google Checkout account that is linked to my sales on the Android Market to sell directly from my website?? -Is it against any Google policy to sell an app directly using Google Checkout for the same app that is available through Android Market?

I want to sell an application developed by me, but this service is not supported in my country (Romania).
So I want to ask a friend of mine who lives in a country (France or US) where selling paid applications is possible to help me with this.
Now I don't know exactly what to tell him about the process:
What is required by his side ? A bank account or a credit card ? How the money are transferred to him ? What exactly Google checks to verify if the developer is in one of the supported countries ?

Does anyone know if there is an Icon of the Incredible? I would like to replace the old telephone receiver icon on the dock with an Icon of the Incredible. If not could someone make me one from a picture or explain how to reduce the pic to a sice for the Icon? Currently I downloaded the Windows 7 icon pack from the market and i'm using the default cell phone icon which looks like an old canybar Nokia.

I bought an Eris on the 28th, but returned it sunday within the 30 day grace period to wait for the incredible. And its killing me xD.I had to switch back to my winmo 6.1 HTC vx6900, and switching back from android is rough. Truly, it is a day to day struggle that we must cope with one step at a time. Tasks that used to be so simple, like editing a contact or sending a text, are now unwieldy by comparison.Who else here has had to do this? Am I alone in having to deal with this?

So i think i might have the first shattered Incredible screen. I dropped it from two feet onto the metal camera protruding part. It hit with very little force. You can barely even see the mark from falling. So i pick it up and notice the entire screen is shattered when the screen was face up, the screen didn't even hit the ground! I can't believe how thin the Incredible screen is, it literally crumbled jut from the force of a light fall. I'm unimpressed in the build quality of the glass. I want to contact HTC about this and see if they can help me out, it seems like a manufacturing defect, maybe a weak screen? I need to find the biggest case that i can find for my replacement, one that could absorb a fall if it falls on the back part. I am thinking maybe a pillow as a case? That might help. Now im out ANOTHER 100 bucks to make an insurance claim on this. I highly recommend people keeping the insurance, the screen blows up even if it is not directly the part that hits if it is dropped.

I recently bought a window mount off ebay for my Inc and have been loving listening to Pandora and using the Navigation program while driving.
This weekend I drove a couple of hours back and forth to see a friend and both times I had issues with the amber notification light starting to blink. I had the phone plugged into the Verizon car charger. Could it be that the battery was getting too hot and this was the phones way of notifying me? I live in Florida so it would make sense that the phone was getting rather warm in the window mount.
Anybody else have this issue?
Can this cause any damage to the phone or the battery? Am I OK as long as I pull the phone down out of the heat whenever I notice this happening?

Does anyone know a way to call a phone number that is in a calendar entry on the Incredible? This is a feature I used 10 times a day on my blackberry and I can't believe there wouldn't be some way to do it on the incredible. I am a sales rep and when I set up an appointment I put the name of the office and then I type the phone number right next to the name. When I opened the entry on my bb I could then click on the number to initiate a call. The incredible doesn't seem to recognize the phone number as anything different than text..

Is there any way to set the screen timeout while you are on a phone call? There are lots of times that while on a call you need to hit a number to transfer and the screen times out way to fast and you end up accidentally, while trying to get the screen to wake up, that you hit the wrong number whlie the screen is dark. There has to be a setting somewhere for this. Any suggestions?

Did we ever find a fix to keep the phone from vibrating while in a phone call when you get a message?
I don't mind a beep in my ear, but the vibration needs to go.

OK trying to strategize when and where to get the Incredible. Sounds like the main choices are:Verizon in store Verizon online Bestbuy Which will likely have it first? Which has the best return policy? Can they all handle corporate discounts?

Last week, my Moto Droid was put through the washing machine. Currently, I have no phone to replace it, but I do have an upgrade at the ready in order to replace the non-functional phone with an Incredible. I want to be phone-less for the shortest amount of time possible, so I am looking for ways to get my hands on one of these phones. Does anyone think that Best Buys across the US will periodically get shipments within the next three weeks? Or will all of the supply go directly to Verizon? I'm thinking that Best Buy would be the quickest way for me to get this phone only because the Verizon ship date is exceedingly slow.

I recently downloaded the game called NOVA.It has online multiplayer, but you need WiFi to play(I think this is to ensure a fast connection).I am a rooting noob, but from what I understand, you can turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot--providing WiFi internet to electronics near the phone. Now, since this game can only be played online with WiFi, and since a rooted phone can provide WiFi, could I root my Incredible and provide WiFi to myself, allowing me to play multiplayer online anywhere in NOVA?It seems like this could be possible, but I don't know.Is there someway into tricking the phone into thinking a WiFi connection is actually a 3G connection maybe?

Is the Incredible being left behind?I know all the news lately has been Droid X, and deservedly so.I remember the same thing happening when the Incredible rumors were out there, so I am fine with that. However, in all the trade publications, even the 2.2 rumor mill(I know the Inc is slated to get it) the Incredible is rarely mentioned. Also, with the production issues between HTC and Samsung, the Incredible still isn't shipping and the X will probably be out before they get them back in production.I feel like VZW will drop the Incredible (and all references to it) as soon as the X hits the street. But, that's just my humble opinion. Hope mine lasts for 16 more months.I LOVE my Incredible, and it has been treating me great.I just hope it's not a relic already.

Is anyone else experiencing lag when using the phone dialer or when answering a phone call? When I go through my contacts and pick someone I want to call, I touch their name, and it takes a good 5-7 secs before it starts calling that person.Same thing when I receive a call. When my phone rings and I have an incoming call, when I swipe down, it'll take another 5-7 seconds after the swipe (since I guess this action lets you answer the call directly) before I am connected to that person.

My Incredible usually just rings once. If I pick it up, it says the person is still calling, but the phone isn't ringing. There's some setting about stop ringing when you pick it up. I do not have that set, so it should keep ringing to matter what.It is not consistent. Sometimes it just rings once.
