HTC Incredible :: Hearing A Ringtone After Bootup?
Jul 10, 2010I have recently started hearing my phone make a ringtone right after I boot up, when the lock screen first appears...anyone know whst could be causing this?

HTC Incredible :: Droid Sound At Bootup
Aug 29, 2010I know others have certainly tried this already but I haven't seen it mentioned yet so I thought I'd throw it out there for any interested parties.
Many of us have previously created an app.disabled folder to store unwanted files that could be retrieved if we ever want them back. I've never tried to disable a sound (mp3) before but I was tired of hearing the Drrooooooid every time I boot up the phone so I ditched it using ADB. Animation still works the same, just no volume.
mv /system/customize/resource/VZW_Droid.mp3 /system/app.disabled
(Note the spaces after "mv" and "mp3"). Much more enjoybable now.
I tried to cut/paste it elsewhere with Linda File Manager but was denied access due to read only status. Not sure if Root Explorer would bypass that or not and I don't have it to verify.
HTC Incredible :: Flashing ROM / Hangs On Bootup Screen
Oct 20, 2010Last night I exchanged my Fascinate for the Incredible due to some really poor call quality issues. Well, I am not a huge fan of Sense - mainly due to the swipe down action of answering calls and unlocking the phone but I digress. So I decided to root. I've rooted several phones before (Eris, Ally, Fascinate). I flashed the DInc last night using the unrevoked one touch method. Then I installed ROM Manager - paid version. ROM manager thought I still had the Ally so I went ahead and flashed the CWM recovery image included with ROM Manager and I think that caused a problem. Things just weren't working right so I searched the forum and found an image that I had to rename, put on the root of the SD card and then flash.
After doing that I was then able to flash the Skyraider ROM that I downloaded in ROM Manager. What I'm really looking for is a ROM with a Vanilla dialer so I tried flashing Cyanogen's 6.0.2 from ROM Manager. It downloaded but hangs at the HTC Incredible screen on bootup. Thought there may be an issue with the flash so I downloaded and installed it manually and it still hung at the boot up screen. I thought it was a problem with the cyanogen ROM so I gave up but I just tried another and am having the same problem. I flashed the MIUI ROM manually and it booted up the same screen and hung there as well. What am I doing wrong?
HTC Incredible :: Ringtone Trimmer Unable To Delete Custome Ringtone?
May 17, 2010I used the htc ringtone trimmed for one of the song in my music library on my phone and I'm sorry if there is already a thread for this but how are you able to delete these ringtones when you no longer want them? The program its self works fine for making ringtones but I cannot find anyway to delete them. I even looked in Astro. If someone doesnt mind could they please lend some advice on this. I've searched in the forums and I havnt found a solution to it.

Nov 9, 2010My volume is high....the highest node, but still on a high street when I ring someone or someone rings me I find it hard hearing them (although at home the sound is not too bad). I didnt have this prob even on a cheap handset I was using previously....is the volume genuinely low or is it a prob with my handset?

Feb 4, 2010I have searched for an app that would allow a hard of hearing person to use earbuds and have the phone amplify the ambient sound to act as a poor man's hearing aid or souns amplifier. Not even sure if this is possible but it seems it might work in theory. Any developers out there know if this is realistic?

I'm literally on the verge of getting the Droid X but I have a few concerns regarding volume.
1) I use my phone as my alarm
2) I commute via train quite a bit, and not being able to hear the phone would suck
3) Is the volume for turn by turn navigation low also?

Dec 10, 2009I purchased my moment about 2 weeks ago and have been having fun figuring it out however there are some areas where I am having problems.
1. When you want to attach a document it selects the picture folder/area, how do you browse instead of being forced into that area.
2. I downloaded ringtone app and have found the app quite useful, the problem I am having is, the ringtones I have created don't show up in all the ringtone areas of my phone, what needs to be done to correct this.
3. The basic user guide that comes with the phone says there is an app I can download called samsung new pc studio. When I call sprint or samsung they say this app is not available or can't be used by a casd(the u.s. standard, I think casd is right), they say this software is only for the other standard, I did find this app on the web. Is what sprint and samsung saying true if not can I use the ones I found on the web.
4. If you could choose only ten apps to have(free)which ones would you choose?

1. How do you set a ringtone for voicemail? When I run the standard voicemail app (Verizon) I cannot being up a menu.

May 12, 2010When in the HTC music app, I select Menu/Set as Ringtone - the only 2 options it gives me is Phone Ringtone or Contact Ringtone. There is no trimmer option. Sep 27, 2010I want to change my ringtone to a song I've installed on my phone. But no songs appear when I select the music drop down under settings > sound > phone ringtone > select music. From there I have 2 options, system ringtone, (which is redundant from the previous screen), and music. When I select music I only have selection: "Facebook Pop" which is a tiny pop not event listed as a music and generally useless. Before 2.2 I had no issue.

May 19, 2010Sorry if this has been posted before, I'm new to this site, but does anybody else think the volume on the inc is just too low? I keep the volume all the way up, but when I'm in my car or just outside with other surrounding noises, I just cant really hear it. It's useless to even put the ringer volume halfway or less, you could barley hear it at all. Is it just me or does anybody else have this problem?
