Android :: Email Widget - When Ever Read Email From Gmail Account - Doesnt Update Read Status - Still Shows As Unread
Oct 6, 2010I know this has most likely been discussed many times. But I am looking for a decent email widget.
At the moment I am using the default htc email widget, however when ever I read an email from my gmail account it doesnt update the read status so it still shows as unread.
I would like one that would update the read status and possible the support for unified inbox so I can see new mail from hotmail account and gmail.

May 22, 2010I am using the HTC email widget for my pop3 hotmail account. I forwarded some email to my account because I'm going on a trip and wanted easy access. The widget deletes all my email (read or not) every morning. How can I stop it from doing that? Is there an email app/widget besides the HTC one?

Jan 4, 2010I am a converted BB user. One of the features i cant seem to find that i liked on the BB is the select all/previous and mark as read function. I have tried pressing keys on the keyboard (if only there was a ctrl+A function) and looking under every menu i can find. Does anyone have any idea as to how i could do this?

Aug 12, 2010Had the phone now two weeks. Got the upgrade to 2.2 from sprint succesfully. Enjoying the power of this machine for sure. I lurk here a lot and have learned tons for sure from reading, reading, reading sometimes till the wee hours. Three things I still can't seem to figure out. 1. Opening an attachment in an email: When a pic or doc file comes in I can't seem to view it. I click "view attachment" it shows the name of the file and the size but does not open the file or download it for me to see. What am I doing wrong? Some kind of settings issue maybe? 2. Deleting a file: I downloaded a pdf file off the internet and now I wish to delete it. Menu does not show an option to delete when I am viewing thde file with pdf viewer. Any ideas? 3. Voice email: I love the voice texting, voice emailing, etc but when I open an email to compose new and use the speak option to speak the name of a current contact (who has an email as part of his contact info) it does not try to auto fill that like it would if I hand texted it in. In other words, say I begin a new email and in the TO box I click the microphone and speak john smith. It types his name in but does not recognize him from contacts and fill in his email address like it does if I start to type j o h n s m by hand. I must be doing something wrong here too maybe?

I've got an HTC Desire & most of my incoming emails are not on a googlemail address.I've never been able to open email attachments for example today I've recieve a message showing a 300kb jpg image attachment. I've previoulsy noticed that I cannot open PDFs or MS Word docs - I do have the PDF viewer & Quick office installed.

Oct 22, 2010Anyone else have this problem? You read an email (or delete an email) from Aol. Ally syncs to check for new emails, and the emails you have read or deleted pop up again as new emails. Extremely frustrating and inconvenient, and was wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if there's a solution. Spoke to LG tech support and their solution was to delete the Aol IMAP account and add it again as a POP3 account, then select the 'Delete From Server' checkbox. (and they're supposedly working on a fix. this problem cropped up after i installed an update in August.) This solution seems to have solved that problem, but now it takes forever for Aol to sync with my Ally; and it drains the battery. I set up GMail to sync up with Aol, but it's not instantaneous. Sometimes i don't get new emails for 30 minutes or more. Not good for business. And the Aol mail mobile web page is slow.

Mar 1, 2010I got my 2 gmail accounts (as POP) and my isp email account (as POP also) in my K-9 email client.
When i receive emails they appear in inbox just normaly. But if I leave the inbox and come back in, they have disappeared. I just can�t figure it out, what kind of setups I have to have to keep the read emails shown?
I have the same 3 account in my laptop and k-9 doesn�t delete the emails from server, because I can download them when I use my laptop email client.

May 26, 2010I have written a content provider over a database table which essentially captures phone contacts information.
So at a point of time, in my application code, I want to query the android contacts content provider, and insert that information into my Database table through the content provider.
For this I have to query the content provider from android, get the cursor, loop over the android contacts, for each contact, insert using my URI, this becomes very bulky. Is there any work around? A bulk insert mechanism of some sort? Or at least pass an object to a URI, which can be the android cursor.

Aug 17, 2010I keep getting messages in my hotmail in box saying that I have new mail when in fact I have already read the email. This seems to happen every time I delete mail when I go to hotmail on the web. For instance, I just deleted 1 email on the web then a few minutes later my phone is saying I have 7 unread messages from last week that I already read and kept on the phone.

Aug 26, 2010I did a search but can't find any answers on this. Anyway, I am having a problem were I cannot open messages in a Gmail thread. Gmail app will display the last message, and the thread tabs behind will say "5 read messages" for example, but when I press on the tab for older messages in the thread, nothing happens. It will highlight the tab, but won't open older messages?
Anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?
