I installed easy tether and it seems to work well... when it works. it keeps popping up "connection dropped" "connection established" over and over....
any thoughts as to why/how to fix?

View 2 Replies View RelatedII am always having problems with pdanet and my fascinate. It works sporadically. When it does work it works great but most of the time especially at night i get usb connection dropped. It will for for a few sec then disconnect then reconnect. Is there a fix for this? Think it disconnected about 16 times trying to type this message. I could really use a fix as this is the only internet I currently have.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been reading the wifi threads on here, the Verizon forums, and the Motorola site forums. I've changed the router settings on my home wifi router according to directions found on those sites. For the first time today, I tried wifi at a different location. It worked perfectly at first, but dropped the connection after about 20 minutes and wouldn't reconnect. It shows that it's connected, but data won't refresh.
So my question is, is the wifi problem with the Droid X something that everyone is afflicted with when trying to hook up to 802.11n routers, or is it only some Droid X's. The 3G signal in my house and at work isn't strong enough for me to download larger files like audio books without timing out. I'm wondering if it's worth trying for a replacement or if I should wait for some kind of software fix. I don't hold out much hope for that anytime soon - the Verizon rep was completely unaware that there was any kind of issue with wifi on the Droid X. I know they are generally clueless, but I would think if it was widespread enough they would have at least heard about it...
After dealing iwth this, I understand why Droid X owners are using 5X as much data as other Verizon smartphone users. We don't have wifi options...
I cant seem to stop the photos from my SC card or HD from popping up on my screen. I selected one photo that I wanted to have as my wallpaper but for some reason throughout the day I also get all the other photos popping up on the screen. Ive tried everything I can think of but it continues to happen; how do I stop this?
View 4 Replies View Relatedafter getting the 2.2 ota, whenever i plug my phone in to my computer it will have the popup say there is software available to use, do you want to install it? and at the same time brings my web browser to a verizon website. i don't see any option for disabling this. is there something i'm missing?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my inc in April this year and had the exchange sync connected to my work email with no issues. Last week i dropped the my inc, broke the glass and got a new inc from asurion, which shipped with 2.2. I never installed the 2.2 on the old phone. Since the new phone, none of my work emails pop. If I open the mail app it syncs. I deleted and reinstalled the account a few times and no change. Anyone with these issues with 2.2 and know how to correct it?Also my phone is not rooted.

View 5 Replies View RelatedDropped my phone from about 6 feet today. And it was absolutely fine. It landed right on a tile floor too. I have a Verizon silicon-gloss case and a Zagg screen protector. Wrap your phone up and it should be fine, mine survived a pretty damn bad fall if you ask me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNow I have dropped my Inc many times (I have the rubber case) and never had a problem. Well on Sunday I was coming home from the airport and dropped it perfectly about 3 feet directly on the screen on a rock and kablooey, it was shattered. I mean ruined to the point where you couldn't touch it without getting cut. However it actually still worked perfectly, but for obvious safety reasons I needed to get a new one. To make a long story short I got Verizon to send me a new one, and I couldn't be happier. Now they explained that I didn't receive a new one or a refurbished one, rather one that was returned immediately by someone.
It looks great, works perfectly and is running faster and smoother than my old one did. This is even after I did a backup from AppBrain to re-download over 130 apps. My only sadness is that I lost all my levels on Angry birds, and that I had to reset up my phone with all the little personalizations that I had before. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their replacement. My old phone (one that had received the update) It was constantly bogged down, and got better once I did a factory reset, however it still wasn't as smooth as my new one.
So how few options do I have? I dropped my incredible on the garage floor and it hit in the corner and shattered. It still works fine, but I had to put some tape below the screed near the optical sensor to cover the sharpness from the cracks where the screen protector doesn't cover.
Anyhow, I did not get insurance as I'd never used it in the 15 years I owned a cell phone... murphy's law of course. I went to a Verizon store and they gave me a phone number of a 3rd party repair guy. He's closed for the day so I started to Google stuff and it seems that I am up the creek. The screens are the reason they are not making these as fast as they'd like so I assume there are none available. I cannot find any info on repairing them... not looking good is it?
is there anything better than pdanet or easytether? I cant seem to get pdanet to stop crashing after running a few min. and easytether just doesn't seem to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am newbie, and when I did a searched "tether" here, I got threads about charges, hot batteries etc. Here is what I am looking, I have downloaded "easytether Lite" to my motorola droid, now I am stuck, I looked for the PC side download that is needed and I can't seem to find it. I am running win7 64bit. I got so real good stuff on my phone (movies of my family) and I want to upload to my pc and I need some really easy to follow instructions to proceed. Folks I don't like saying this, but you see I have 3 learning disabilities, and technical stuff just over-whelms me. So I ask for you consideration in this.

At first I thought it was because I did not have IE up (use internet connection wizard so other computer access the internet through this connection) but I noticed it still drops connection even when I was surfing with IE. Anyone else experience this? Is there a timeout issue? Should I get a keep alive program like with using a standard modem?

The app says that I must remove the Easy Tether Lite before the Pro will work, but I can't figure out how to delete Easytether Lite. View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I reboot my PC with the phone connected the PC drivers are apparently getting connected. I get the new hardware found window (the phone), and when I click next it can't find the drivers, not even if I point it to the EasyTether directory (Android Driver and Network Driver folders). I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers (easytether_86 - from the link the phone has in Apps), and then plug/unplug the phone a couple times. If I unplug the phone before rebooting there is no problem.
It will be extremely difficult to remember to unplug the USB cable from the phone every time I reboot or turn off the computer. This is not acceptable. It is a royal pain to fix.
I paid the $10 to register EasyTether to get https access.
LG Ally phone (Android) (Brand new). PC - Windows XP SP3 w/all current updates.
I have tried this many times and have just come to a stop and i am wondering if it is even possible? and if it is possible could somebody please help me out and tell me how.

However, when I start up Eclipse, it keeps popping-up a dialog reminding me that I have not established the Android device settings. How can I make it stop -- without restarting the workspace?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Incredible. Working fine, suddenly this am, after a phone reset, the data no longer worked. Phone and texting are fine. Under settings > wireless and networks > Mobile network it is dark grey, and says "Turning on"..... over and over.
Spent 45 minutes with tech support. Nothing. Did 2 factory resets, checked the network settings in the phone, checked the settings on their end, nothing worked.
So, they say, we will need to replace your phone. Then, we have no Incredibles in stock. So, they call my local store, who also has none in stock of course. So they say they may be getting some in tonight or tomorrow, supposedly they are going to call me tomorrow and give me an update. I wonder if anyone else has had data issues requiring phone replacement? I guess since I talked to VZW there's nothing else that I could check on the phone.
Ever since i got 2.2 i have been losing 3g and i will not get it back until i restart the phone.

When watching live streaming content using NFL Mobile app over my wifi connection(which is Cox Cable), the feed loses its connection after exactly five minutes of streaming. At the five minute mark, the feed will freeze and the V-Cast loading icon will appear spinning, then an error message will appear saying that NFL Mobile could not establish a connection. Back out at any point during this and hit the button to play live content, live content will work again flawlessly for exactly five minutes. Then the feed will freeze, etc...There are no problems with live streaming content when I am using 3G. I have tried using several different routers at different settings and the problem occurs the same with all of them, and I have no problems with streaming content over wifi other than NFL Mobile. This problem also never occurred with the versions of NFL Mobile prior to the current 2.0 version. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? The app streams much better over wifi, but that's not worth having to restart it every five minutes. A big reason of mine for being with Verizon is the NFL Mobile app so if anyone knows anything please let me know.

I turn it on and with 15 seconds, it turns off. It will pair with my car but than disconnects when the bluetooth turns off. Took out the battery and that did not work. View 3 Replies View RelatedI plugged my phone into my laptop to charge, which I normally do. While it was charging, I decided to take a look at some files I had saved on the phone/microSD. However, when I went to the notification bar to change the USB connection setting, there was nothing there to change! I even went into Settings>Connect to PC and changed the setting to "Disk Drive", exited settings, unplugged the phone, and replugged it in, still nothing. The phone IS charging, but the computer doesn't recognize it. I even uninstalled the driver, hoping it would force the driver to be reinstalled by plugging the phone in again but still nothing. I tried different USB ports!
