I was wondering if there was a way to set my phone or google contact photo as the default photo for contacts. I went through and changed them individually, but they keep on reverting to the facebook photos.

I added my Gmail account and it synced my contacts. I also added my Facebook account, and I like the integration the phone shows when I look at contacts (I can see info from both my Gmail and Facebook accounts for contacts that are synced). However, it appears that the contact photo is only using pictures from Facebook, even though I have photos in my Gmail contacts account. I see a menu option for Picture Source, but it only shows Facebook, not Gmail/Google. Is there a way to force it to use Gmail/Google for my contract picture source without removing my Facebook account?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have contact pictures for my contacts that I have chosen and assigned to my contacts manually and are stored as the Google contact picture, I have an issue with the facebook app when it syncs a facebook profile picture update the application forces the contacts default picture to be the facebook picture.
I don't want it to do this, it can change the facebook linked contact picture but why does it have to change the contacts default picture?? Is there some way this can be blocked or stopped from within Android contacts??
This has been prevalent since before I can remember with the facebook app and sync. Surely submitting a bug to facebook is not the solution as we SHOULD be able to control and/or lock portions of our contacts details..
I use Google contacts as my only/primary contacts on my HTC Droid Incredible. However, I also linked several of my contacts to their facebook profiles. When I created these links, the profile picture (in the phone) changed to their facebook photo. I knew how to change it back to the photo in Google, and did so for each contact. However, every time my facebook friends post anything, the profile picture in my phone changes back to the facebook photo. Is there any way to stop this annoying behavior?

Yet if I call them with my actual phone's number it shows the profile picture. Ditto when they call in. Anyone have a fix for this or is this Motorola's problem?

I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. I am wondering if there is a way to post a picture I took with my X10 to my facebook account. Someone had told me, all I needed to do was long touch it and a set of options would appear to let me do that. But I am not getting the list of options. Am I doing something wrong? I am browsing my pictures via mediascape.
I just came from blackberry to android, How do you download a picture from facebook directly to your phone? I have to download on my com then bluetooth now...just way too many steps I feel like there is an app out there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get Facebook profile pictures assigned to internal phone contacts, but cant get it to work. I installed the recently updated Facebook app, at the first launch it asked me if I want to sync my contacts, I selected Sync with exisiting contacts (later I selected Sync all since first option didnt work) but still profile pictures are not being fetched. I can now see facebook contacts in my main contact list, and I can link them with my phone contacts (manually), but profile picture is still blank. When I click the View profile (facebook) link of a particular contact I'm taken to my profile page instead of the person i clicked on. And when I select Edit and go to Facebook tab there is an error with an exclamation mark with the message "Unable to edit SNS contacts on phone".

I like using Google play music but the application has been changing my album art around and i cant figure out how to change it back.I saved a picture to my external SD card and Google music decided to tag all the Unknown Artists with the picture, but it only seems to show up in Google Music.
I have multiple media players installed and only some of them recognize the art and display it.I have tried editing the tags but its like the images are not there like since the image was in the forlder it pretty much overwrote things.I have cleared the cache and data for google music rebooted my device with no luck.What are my options at this point to get this picture out the tags and off my phone.
I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

What is the best place to buy Evo off contract? Certain places like Wirefly don't sell off contract, others like Amazon apparently don't either. Places like Best buy and radio shack seem to have a higher off contract price ($549). Sprint's online store seems to be the most obvious choice, but then we get stuck with Tax (which for california is nearly 50$ dollars)
So, has anyone done their research and figured out what place will be best, and why?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a number of applications on my phone that are just search plugins. (Searchify, for example.) At some point before 4.2, they "stopped working". I've come to discover that they still work fine if, after doing an initial search and pressing enter or selecting a suggestion, you scroll the bottom bar all the way to the right and select "Phone".
To preempt some questions: the initial screen's suggestions do include applications I can run, just not searching "inside" applications. I have verified that the applications I want to search inside are enabled in the search settings. I have disabled Google Now, but I've tried reenabling it, with no improvement in results.
I have all my contacts in Gmail and sync'd with facebook on my desire.Some contacts I have images in google too (which are low res as we all know).I used Facebook Sync (or fbSync) from the market to pull images from facebook and upload to Gmail.This appears to work fine.Out of the contacts that have images for facebook and google contacts, some default to using the FB image (which is what I want) and some default to google.I need google images because HulloMail VVM only uses gmail contacts so I don't get a contact image unless I have a gmail ones for my voicemails.I have tried to find a trend between the contacts that default to google and those which don't but have been unsuccessful in finding one. I have tried turning off contacts sync but also to no avail.Has anyone else had this issue, or has anyone got any idea on what could be causing this please? I've been trawling the web for too long now and can't find any reference to this issue at all.

There is no evidence of orange applications in the menu and my other vodafone sim works with it too! Is there anyway to work out whether this has the generic HTC unbranded rom or not? And does that mean i will get the Froyo update when HTC release it?

She uses the built-in android music player and wants to change the picture that is used when it plays a file that does not have any album art associated with it. It's usually like something with a colored background and a music note.
Here's the problem. She had to have the phone replaced and got a refurb. Well whoever owned the phone before somehow changed the default picture to a photo of...well...his package. Maybe not his but it's someone's junk. It makes it kind of awkward whenever an unassociated song plays and the screen shows someone. She was able to find the original picture and delete it but it still shows up so it's got to be hidden somewhere. I've looked through the file structure and can't find it.
How to change this picture back to something more PG?
On my text message screen, my Facebook picture will not update. I've turned off my phone and restarted it, but nothing works. I've updated it and every other person's picture updates but mine. I didn't know if there is something I could do to fix it. This is such a minor problem, but I can't figure it out and it's bothering me not knowing why it won't change.

Please authorize the 'fBook' application on this Facebook page (with the word "page" hyperlinked) and then retry the photo upload. OK, no problem. So I click the link and it takes me to the Facebook login page where my email and/or password doesn't work. When I try to do it from my desktop computer and click on settings, then Activate Facebook Mobile, TMobile isn't listed as a carrier. So what do I do? The contact is not linked to facebook and i have un-synced facebook. I had lived with it if it was just the picture change, but i also get problems returning messages. It is not picking up the correct number. I have her number as 07.In facebook it's +44. It is using the facebook one and not picking up the "+", so is an incorrect number. It's frustrating the hell outta me, especially as it's the person i text most.
