May 3, 2010Is it possible to convert a DVD into a movie file that can be viewed on the Incredible?
If so, what is the process and does anybody know any good free programs to use?

In a nut shell, when the app is loaded, it will play a short movie (maybe a few seconds at most @ 12-24fps). I will then have 2 buttons displayed on the screen, and depending on what button is pressed, it I will play another short movie (5-10 seconds). While waiting for the user to make a decision, the movie will be looping.
The movie source is stop-motion photography so it's already chopped up into frames. My question here is if I should use a Frame Animation technique, or if I should use a Movie player for this. All in all perhaps there's less than 100 still frames that make up the stop-motion. I was going to go the Frame Animation route, but I wasn't sure if having so many individual frames would kill the app so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.
I want to be able to use/view the video's I record with my phone on my computer. (open from an email or use in window's movie maker)I have a new computer with Windows seven at work and a Vista laptop at home. I can send the video to myself and try to open in from my email or tether to the computer and transfer the file manually. Either way I can't open with windows media player. Video's taken with default "Camcorder" app on a myTough 3G running Android 1.6.I know it has something to do with the codec's the phone uses but wonder why they wouldn't use codec's that are compatible with the most commonly used pc's?Is there any way around this? Some kind of converter for the computer or for the phone?Is there another camcorder app that can record video with a different codec or is it phone hardware specific?So far have been able to use these forum's to sort out most of my Android problems but I'm stumped on this one. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard to do. Should be more user friendly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere is a site I found that gives step by step video converting. Tried it last night and all the movies work and are of great quality on my eris. I used any video converter instead of super as they describe. Set video to 480x320 bit rate to 512. All the movies converted to around 530mb. Hope this can help some.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone know the movie stats of the .dcf file? Bitrate, codec, framerate, etc Mediainfo doesn't tell me anything about it, and I don't know of any other utility that might recognize it. Hmm...
I'm curious because I just compared (my wife's) Vibrant playing avatar.dcf with my (company's) iPhone4 using my custom 960x540 Avatar .m4v (which I made using the raw 44GB bluray .m2ts), and the Vibrant's .dcf just blew it out of the water. Both are tack-sharp, but it's like looking at 32-bit vs 16-bit color. When you look at the iPhone4 video by itself it looks great, until you see it next to a Vibrant, then you realize that some colors on the iPhone4 just don't reproduce with much accuracy. Then there's the contrast ratio... holy crap. Can you say "true black"? The Vibrant is amazing. The super AMOLED just seems to blow their LCD away... and their IPS LCD is more advanced than any TFT LCD to date, yet the Super AMOLED just kills it. Do yourself a favor if you just bought an Android phone with an LCD and DO NOT look at the Galaxy S line. You will have buyer's remorse.
Anyway, I'm getting ready to encode a new file (800x450 mp4) directly from the raw 44GB bluray .m2ts file to fit the native resolution of the Vibrant (800x480), then do a head-to-head comparo video. Both files will be in H.264 (AVS video converter v6.4) in the interest of keeping it a fair fight, but I fully expect the mp4 that I create to look even better than the included .dcf. If anyone's interested in the comparo I'll post the youtube link here in this thread, assuming my newbie status allows it.
I've been having a few issues with movie playback, a lot of my stuff (100+ dvd encodes) was encoded when I had my iPhone(s) so uses the h.264 codec 640x320 (ish) resolution, the problem I'm having is that large movie files i.e. 2GB and above don't play, yes I have a few at over 2GB - uber long movies.. Is there a size limit in force here?? Android or HTC based??

How can I do it?
Have already posted this in "multimedia". Sorry for reposting, but I hadn't seen this group before. Q1: On youtube and other websites I, more often than not, get the message "Cannot play this file". I suppose the reason is that the file format is not supported? Can I download a codecs pack somewhere in order to get more out of my phone? Q2: Is there a flash plugin for the Android browser or an alternative browser available, and where do I get it?

View 11 Replies View RelatedMY question and problem is that when I watch my movies, the sound is a half second out of sync with the movie. Anyone experience this? It makes no difference which player I use. I've used 3 different converters for the movies I have and that doens't seem to matter either. I used to watch most of my movies on my, forgive the language, on my Palm (Gasp) and they worked fine there.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to send pictures to my brother who has a BB storm. He claims that every picture i send him is very very small, and when he goes into landscape mode, it does not go full screen. At first i thought it was because i was using all 8.2MP and it was resizing the pictures to 50kb out of 1200kb, i would always see 50/1200, or 80k/1200kb and I thought that was why. then i changed the MP to 3mp and then i got it to say 800kb/1200kb but the picture still looks the same. I MMS myself the picture and it goes to a very small image when i send it to myself as well. Am i doing something wrong? is there an option somewhere that is forcing the pictures to resize ? i wouldnt say they are thumbnail size, but i WOULD say they are no where near taking up the full screen and it's kind of pointless to have 8.2mp and only send half of a screen via MMS. ? any thoughts?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI think I need a step by step. So I ripped Avatar from a dvd using dvdfab. I chose main movie and Dvd9. This gave me a 7 gig file. I used handbrake to convert to mp4 at 480 x 272 or something on ipod legacy setting. When I put that file on the phone, it is 2 gigs. Does that seem too big? How can I compress this without a huge loss in quality? It plays perfect right now.

So, I take it the .wav files cannot be played on Android phones. Has anyone found a workable and simple workaround to this yet?

View 24 Replies View RelatedI know SOMEONE will ask why since the size of the screen makes the quality difference between DVD and Blu-ray near impossible to see.However, the point is, I have lots of movies on Blu-Ray only, and would like to watch them on my Droid on occasion.Now, I know there is a way, they have programs to convert Blu-ray files to DVD style files, or even directly to MPEG-4 format. Emicsoft, Apecsoft, iSkysoft, and 4U M2TS Converter. My question revolves around finding one that is good, since every one I have found has an absolutely useless free trial. You can only convert files that are small, you can only convert certain files, or they plaster a giant watermark over the screen making it near impossible to notice any quality issues. I'm not paying $30-50 for a program that may not be what I want, it's ridiculous. One of them had a function to merge all the files into one like Handbrake does with DVD files, but again, I could not test that. Worst case is having to convert from the Blu-ray file to DVD file and then use Handbrake to convert to MPEG4, I'm fine with that if that's the way it has to be.

My code is:
Code:
public void randText(int r){
r++; //necessary increment
String rs = Integer.toString(r); //random string[code]....

This doesnt work at all. the setText(cs) line fails. Is there any way to convert string -> charsequence? Or to have it read as a resource file and not a string?
I have about 50 gigabytes worth of audio books I have purchased from iTunes over the years. I have read numerous things about people burning mp3 CD and re saving them this is completely impractical for this vast amount of data. It would take months. I have seen I can get a virtual CD drive and do it artificially. Is there a free one that works properly?
Also is there any plans for google play to allow larger file upload for audio book support? it took my cd converted books just fine.
and lastly, Is there perhaps a site I can upload the books to be hosted instead of converting them?
Is there any way to install an .apk that is meant for ICS OS on my Gingerbread device?
