View 2 RepliesFor some reason my phone does not vibrate for incoming text messages anymore and I have all the settings on. I cannot figure it out. Spent a lot of time. I want to restore it and then if that does not do it I am going to return it for a new one.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an application which downloads a file from FTP server. The code first checks if file is present on local system . If it is not present on local system then it downloads it from FTP server. Application must download file from FTP server when it executes first time after getting installed.
If we reinstall the application , android preserves the data of old application .So now application finds the file on local system and does not download it from FTP server. But it should always download the file on first execution after fresh install. Is there any way to completely wipe out the previous application data on fresh install? Is there any registry or some location where an application can store data and it gets automatically wiped out when application is uninstalled?
It's insane. The camera lens is completely flush with the back of the phone.
View 14 Replies View RelatedDoes using unrevoked 3.1 to root a DInc wipe the phone? I know that with old root methods on other droids (e.g., Droid Eris), that rooting required installing a custom ROM at the same time.So does unrevoked wipe the phone and install a custom rooted rom? Or if you run revoked 3.1, are you simply left with a rooted phone, that's still running the stock Android Sense 2.1?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I did the 2.2 OTA update yesterday and now it has screwed up my phone. My question is, can I wipe my phone and start over? Can I install 2.2 RUU? My phone has all kinds of bugs now, including but not limited to:
-Cannot get on the internet, browsers close after a few seconds
-Cannot get on Pandora
-Swype does not work, even after reinstall. I cant download new version because I cannot get on the internet because of the browser issue.
-Menu button no longer unlocks the phone This is awful, my android device is now just a phone.
If you do it through the phones own settings whats the difference? Or should you just do it under the Clockwork recovery to be safe? Either way you wont lose root right?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI pre-ordered an Incredible and I plan to sell my Eris. I scanned through some posts and I see that there have been just a couple of short responses to this question in other forums, so I will ask the question here in the hope that it is useful to others. Question: for safety/privacy, is it adequate to wipe my Eris via the following method before selling it? Settings --> Security --> Factory Data Reset
Do I need to do more, or will this cover it?
I'm getting my Dinc replaced under warrantee due to dust under the screen and the camera lens starting to fall off for no reason. I want to back up the device as completely as possible, but the main thing I want are the apps. I have a lot of apps and it'd be a pain to re-download all of them. What is the best way of doing this? Is there an app or...?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted EVO 4G that has worked fine until now, I backed up the phone to my PC with a full copy back up but did not back up the ROM Manager like I usually do, I tried to restore the phone and it will not place the saved calander with the copy and paste back to the phone through the USB when mounted as a disk drive, I have all the contacts and apps that I need saved but lost all of my calander details which for me include 6 months of booking and events that I use for my business, it will only restore from my last back up on the ROM manager. Is there a way to replace just the calander file, I'm not sure how to view it in the PC back up or even where it would be located.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy phone died today, and once i put it on the charger and booted it back up it was frozen completely. I restarted the phone and still the same thing. The screen never shuts off and then drop down menu is trying to come down. I get no feedback from any touch of the screen and occasionally i will get a bunch of random vibrates back. No i do not have an ATK.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a TF101, factory stock HC rom, I installed revolution HD (ICS) and it's a nice rom, but it has a few quirks with ICS...so I really really want it to go back to stock rooted + cwm HC, *just* that.
I've tried using cwm 5.5.0.4 and flashing directly the file ww_epad_user-8.6.6.19 which is a HC already prerooted + cwm that I found on the specific XDA forum section, but whenever I reboot the system, go to "about tablet", the SAME firmware is installed (4.0.3) and build number android revolution 3.0.1...I've tried wiping cache, dalvik, tried different roms, using adb to mess around, NOTHING takes me out of revolution HD back to stock.
I lost all my applications which I guess is ok because I only paid for two. My questions is can I totally wipe my sdcard to get it back to stock as well? It has a bunch of stuff from my 2.1 before I wiped it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you went and wiped cache only, not data, and installed a new rom, would all data remain? What exactly is this cache that nandroid wipes?
I'd like to install a rom for a friend but dont want to completley wipe his phone. I just want to install the virtuous rom, which is basically the stock 2.2 update rom and would like to keep all his data on the phone. would just wiping the cache work? I know some people just install without wiping but would wiping cache help?
And I know a wipe is always better, thats what I do on my phone. But its not mine and would like to save his data.
I'm sure the engineers who build these phones are quite brilliant individuals, and certainly, at least one of them has figured out by now that, "Hey, if we put the speaker on the back of the phone, the sound is going to be muffled when the phone rings!"So I'm just curious if there is some logistical/technical reason why this is done? I figure it would be much better design-wise to put the speaker on the front, or maybe even on the bottom. Other than not being able to see the screen in direct sunlight, this is the only real gripe I have about the phone thus far. Also, do you guys lay the phone face down when not using it, assuming you'd otherwise sleep right through the phone ringing when sitting on its back?
View 35 Replies View RelatedThe back of mine doesn't seem to go on as snugly as it used to. I've swapped the battery a few times since getting mine on launch day. Probably 10 or so times. If i press lightly with my thumb on the center of the bottom part of the back, it makes a squeaky noise and definitely gives. I'm used to backs that are made to come off the phone a bit more easily (blackberry's, moto droid), so I've always found the plastic tabs on the inc kind of suboptimal. I guess that's one of the sacrifices you make for a super slim and light phone. I ordered a new back cover from ebay, hopefully that will give me back that tight-as-a-drum new phone feel.
