Everytime I take a pic or record something, the screen goes blank and I'm forced to restart the phone before its useable again. Anyone run into this and is there a solution?

Today at work I went into my people application and sent a contact card too a friend.
When I done this it went to send it through messages rather than through handcent for whatever reason. Either way the friend didn't get the contact card. After this I went into handcent to send a contact and nothing would send. So I tried sending a normal text message and nothing. After half an hour I rebooted phone but still nothing do. I decided to turn phone off and take battery and SIM card out and then turn back on. This still didn't fix it so I went into manage applications and cleared all cache and data from HTC messages application.
Again this didn't work but I am worried what data I may have deleted now? 3 hours later and everything was working ok or seeming too however every now and then I got the message sending failed. I've had full signal throughout this. Also when I now receive a message I am getting 2 messages notifications come up one from handcent the other from HTC messages application? On another note what cache can I clear? I've got astro which allows me too clear thumbnail and internal cache which I do weekly but how can I clear all my application cache at once? and should I clear caches?
I'm a little disappointed with the Evo's camera and camcorder. It's kind of fuzzy and the sound is pretty bad. Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? Is there a hack you can do to make it better? I heard somewhere its a compression and fps issue. Please don't give me answers like "the Evo's quality is great" or "get a real camera".

Any solution to this problem? A soft boot worked, yet is impractical if I want to shoot something spontaneous.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to use the camcorder bit of my HTC Desire, and need to use it quite urgently. Wouldn't you know the damn thing has gone buggy just as I need to use it. It will NOT record, and it freezes the phone. Only putting it to sleep, or holding the Home key and choosing another recent app will stop it. However, it jams up the whole phone, which is evident when I check on System Panel, the CPU is constantly running at 100% Ridiculous. say I've ever seen a problem like this before, but I suppose I've not used the camcorder bit since the 2.2 update. I am at a loss at the moment as to what to do. I'll be honest and say my phone has experienced odd problems since getting that update. The extra "features" really aren't worth the bother I am now having.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI updated to froyo 2.2 yesterday and ever since the camera, camcorder and YouTube apps flash open for a second and immediately close. I called Sprint's tech support and the lady said that Sprint did not work the bugs out of it for their phones yet, and that I have to go to the store and have them completely wipe it. This is unacceptable because I literally have put thousands of things on my evo. Is there anything else that can be done?

Had been content with it, but after the first couple firmware update (including the most recent one to 4.2.2) my front camera always fails. My rear camera works fine but when I select the self portrait icon, it will show up 'Camera Failed' and closes down. It has happen too often now, have done everything recommended online.
Clear Cache, Force Stop, Clear RAM, Factory Reset (I've done this so many times now). I used to think it's a hardware problem but reading stuffs online they say it's a software problem. What should I do??
Is there anyway to zoom in or out with the camera and/or camcorder on the droid? If so, I cannot find it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running rubix focused .5 and its been great, I installed the camera-search-voice fix and didnt have any problems along with having full camera functionality. Eventually I decided to try the Incognito theme since it had a "blurless" version. I noticed it changed my camera icon obviously but I didnt actually open it. I decided I didnt like it, so I restored my nandroid I made immediately before putting the theme on. Next thing I notice, my camera shortcuts are the generic green apk icon. And they dont work, at all.
I nandroid restore to an even earlier back-up (from right after applying rubix) and still no camera functionality. It doesnt appear in my apps under manage applications, the blurcamera.apk is in the system folder, and I tried deleting/replacing that again, and installing it right from the apk and I get an install failed. I don't understand how I could lose my camera app when I restore to a back-up that had it working fine.
Would this have to do with my ROM? I am running tranquility. What do I need to do to fix these issues?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy DroidX was working for the few days with no dead pixels on any of the menu screens, none on any of the software applications, and none on the Camera or Camcorder applications.
On Tuesday afternoon I downloaded and installed the DroidX 1.13.604 Software Update.
My DroidX now has some dead pixels that appear only in the Camera and Camcorder applications, and not in any of the other applications or menu items.
Since the dead pixels only occur in the Camera and Camcorder applications, could it be a software related bug or mayme something else?
Just started playing around with the camcorder app today. Which is a better file format to get the best quality the camcorder app is currently capable of? Are there pluses and minuses to one or the other. This might be a separate issue, but when I tried playing .mpeg4 videos back on Windows Media Player I did not have any sound, I have not tried h.263?

In short I am running Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense and the camcorder is not working. Everything else, GPS, Flash, wireless tether, camera work perfectly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below are the steps I took since I first took the plunge into root.
Wiped cache did factory reset
Rooted phone with unrevoked
Installed Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense to verify I liked the build.
Used Unrevoked forever to siwtch S - OFF
verified S - OFF
Flashed radio to 2.15.00.07.28
Verified that SDcard is/was formatted with FAT32
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
Wiped phone
reverted back to 1.00 radio
re-installed skyraider
Confirmed everything worked but the camcorder
upgraded kernel to 2.6.32.15-king-HAVS-Oc-Uverik@Ubuntu #3

I updated officially to Froyo 2.2 today from the VZW notification. Now, whenever I select my camcorder, it goes back to the home screen and does not launch. I removed a flashlight app that I had installed from the market. I restarted several times. Tried removing the battery for 15 minutes. All no help. any suggestions. Everything else seems to work properly.

I am rooted, so it will be okay if the apps requires root.
Anyone with similar experiences? Recently I started losing my 3G signal on occasion and restarting to get it back. Right now I don't have 3G and restarting did not help. Even my wifi signal will disappear leaving me with no internet and I will need to disable and re-enable wifi to reconnect.

The battery completely drained and I never even had any apps running. I used the app killer to make sure I wasn't running anything. I barely used the phone this morning except for three text messages and sent an email. I just got a new battery sent from Verizon, I don't understand why it spazzed out on me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis doesn't always happen but when it does, Slacker stops playing after every 2 or so songs. I get a message box that reads "Warning! Unable to find active data or WiFi connection. Would you like to quit the application?" and gives me Yes or No options. Clicking No returns me to the Stations list where selecting any station returns me to the one previously playing and starts the next song when I hit Play.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I installed the new version of Swype (i have an official version), I constantly get a pop up tips screen.It tells me how the word I just typed was replaced by an earlier word I just types, and tells me how to delete it.It comes up constantly! From swipe settings, I�ve disabled the enable tip indicator to no avail.Its really hampered my user experience.I also have the other issue people mentioned where i have to reboot my phone, because it stops "swyping".Surprising to me that an upgrade is actually a downgrade.

Screen timeout constantly defaulting at 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it does it randomly or only after reboots, but I prefer it at two minutes and to just put it to sleep manually with the lock button.
