Here's something that has been plaguing me for awhile:
Screen timeout constantly defaulting at 30 seconds. I'm not sure if it does it randomly or only after reboots, but I prefer it at two minutes and to just put it to sleep manually with the lock button.

My HTC One's screen is timing out after about 5 seconds. By timeout, I mean going black and I have to unlock the phone to get back to where I was.
Initially, I removed Battery Doctor and I thought this solved the problem, but the issue it returned. Occasionally, usually after I've uninstalled something, it goes back to around 15 seconds, leading me to believe I solved the issue, but then issue returns.
I've gone through the following motions:
Settings > Security > Lock phone after - set to 3 minutes
Settings > Display, gestures & buttons is > Sleep - set to 15 seconds.
Over the weekend I restored my phone completely, which appeared to work at first, but now it's back to timing out abruptly.
As I've typed out this message, it was constantly timing out, then in the middle it did stay awake several times for about 5 seconds, then dimmed, but still stayed on for around 10 more seconds before blacking out.
HTC One on 4.1.2, AT&T, non-rooted
I have the screen timeout set to 1 min which works fine until I use the phone. When using the phone the screen times out (and locks) in about 5 seconds. This is a real pain when using voicemail etc and you need to interact with the keypad.

When i go to the Display options I unclick the button for 30 seconds, click 2 minutes, then exit. A little while later the screen goes off and I go back to the Display settings and it is back at 30 seconds again. It does not seem to go to the value I want but goes back to 30 seconds each time.size limitation on email on a Verizon Droid?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo, I've been using Juice Defender for a while. It's been working good. The issue I have is the timeout function shuts itself off all the time. I open Juice Defender, it's not enabled. i enable it, then 5 minutes later, it's off.
Around the same time, my battery life has been going down a bit. I rarely use a lot of data, so I'm not sure what's going on. All the other settings stay where I set them.
I finally had a chance to try the Google Maps turn by turn navigation, and i love it, but i got one problem.
To save on battery, i keep my phone display timeout to 2 minutes. The problem im running into is when the screen times out, it kills the navi and i gotta restart it....very annoying and sucks if a turn is coming up
Does anyone know a way to keep the screen from timing out while either plugged in, or in the Maps app?
So I have my Screen timeout set the way that I want it (10 minutes) and it works fine except for when I'm on a call. The screen will go blankafter just a few second, even if I have the keypad on display and using voice menus and such.
Is there a way to keep that display going when I'm on a call - no timeout or long timeout?
Went through the settings and cant find out any ways to turn screen timeout off. Mainly I dont want a few apps to time out when I use them, like Pandora. Went through a few apps and haven't found one that really works yet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had a quick question about the AMOLED Screen the Incredible uses. I noticed that if you have for example white text on a black background for an extended period of time and go to a full black screen you can still see the ghosting of the text like it has been temporarily burned into the screen. It goes away after a couple of seconds. But I'm worried a display on for too long could result in a more permanent burn. Could this be a case of burning or is it just the way the screen refreshes? As I am not too familiar with the AMOLED Screen. Hopefully some of you more screen technology savy people may know what's going on. And hopefully this will be helpful to others as I couldn't find any other thread relating to this. Thank you in advance.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOK today charged battery then turned off bump charged it turned it back one. HTC splash screen, then little splash screen then verizon splash screen then its reboots. It did this even if I removed the battery. Called Tech support had to clear all my data UGH!!!! luckily i did export to sd card a while back only missing about 20 contacts out of a 100 but its fixed now. Anyone else have this happen. I have had no problems with this phone til now.

There are lots of times that while on a call you need to hit a number to transfer and the screen times out way to fast and you end up accidentally, while trying to get the screen to wake up, that you hit the wrong number whlie the screen is dark. There has to be a setting somewhere for this. Any suggestions?

Also before the update I could have sworn there was an option on the screen timeout to set it to never. Now I don't have that option.

Have an issue, my screen does not timeout. I have checked the setting under Screen timeout and is set for 15 seconds but still does not timeout!
Are ther any applications which stop this function working?
Updated to stock 2.2 using the OTA update just now. Everything seems OK, with one exception - the screen timeout no longer works. Doesn't matter what I set it to, the screen just doesn't turn off.
I do have KeepScreen installed, so I shut off its service just in case it was interfering with something somehow. It makes no difference - the screen just doesn't time out.
I saw a while ago on here an App to toggle screen timeout but whilst screen was on it would dim if not using which I like the idea of. I cannot remember what it was called can anybody help? At the moment I am using 'Toggle Screen Timout' which is great but does not dim.

Occasionally I notice about 2-3 times a week that the screen never shuts off and when I check my settings it is set at never. Any idea why its doing this?

About 3 to 4 times a day the setting changes all by itself to 15 seconds. Has anyone else had this problem? Or any suggestions on how to keep it set at one minute?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my screen timeout - nomatter what I set it to, it soon afterwards resets back to 30 seconds. I've tried 2 minutes, 10 minutes etc. and it might work immediately, but not long afterwards it gets reset.
The only thing I had running that I thought might possibly affect it was timeriffic, but I've deactivated that now and its still happening.
And yes, I know that apps like screenmodewidget and Screebl can be used to work around the problem, but I'd rather fix it!
Just setting up the display profiles on my phone....does anyone know how to change the screen time out for different scenes.....eg when I'm using my phone normally I want the display to timeout and lock etc, but when the phone is on charge at work or in the car I never want it to timeout.
Changing the timeout setting seems to apply for all profiles.
I have a UK 3 Hero and am running Screebl. I set the screen timeout for a minute but it keeps reverting back to 15 secs. I am changing the time in the phone's settings and Screebl's, but it keeps changing back.

I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.

However, I'd like to increase that to at least several minutes while the phone is charging. I don't want the screen to be always on it just doesn't seem like the best thing for the life of the phone. Could be wrong, it just feels that way.Is there any setting or app that would allow this?
