View 1 RepliesI'm afraid to bring this up as I suspect I might be headed for a replacement phone,For the last week or so, I've noticed my phone seems to be scrolling to the left automatically. The home screen will scroll as well as if I'm in the market for example and trying to enter a search term, the blinking cursor will move to the left. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. The phone still works great, but I'm worried that it might turn into something bigger.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor example when I was using the camera and as soon as a snap a pic it goes back to the home screen, not all the time, but annoying nonetheless. It just did that when I was using google maps also.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthere's a way to get the screen to automatically switch to home when the phone gets locked via time out or pressing the power button? Running ZenEXP/LP+/geekfor.me vanilla lockscreen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing a problem where the phone vibrates in short pulses and returns to the home screen. The home button also vibrates at the same time. It hasn't happened much maybe 7 times or so since Sunday. Curious what it could be.

Long version: I'm fairly new to "devices". I got my first, a wifi-only Samsung tablet about 6 months ago and use it sporadically, mostly when traveling, but also it's become my semi-permanent music player at home. I got my first smart phone, a MotoX about 2 weeks ago. Love the MotoX and feel it's exceptionally well designed, easy to configure, and useful, but I have nothing to compare it to other than my wife's IPhone 5.
I have done a web search for this information. I have also searched and scanned around these forums, but didn't find anything I felt comfortable with in terms of how fussy or current the set up steps are or how current the app recommendations are. The two apps I've come across are, IIRC, called "Delayed Lock (trial or paid)" and "Unlock with WiFi".
My question is - today, mid-October 2013 - how do you recommend disabling screen lock while at certain locations. I imagine I'll be using it strictly at work or at home, both of which have wifi I connect to automatically. I might want to disable screen lock while driving, but so far have found my MotoX's Assist driving mode to work very well. I might get a Bluetooth device and at that point would probably want to disable the screen lock while that bluetooth device was connected.
I'm developing an application that should add it's shortcut to home screen after installation and remove it after the application is being uninstalled. The application will be preinstalled on the end user device, but still should have an option for uninstall). The task looks very simple but I've faced lots of troubles implementing it. What I have done:
Add shortcut to the home screen using
com.android.launcher.action.INSTALL_SHORTCUT
on app first launch or on newt device
reboot.
MANUALY remove shortcut using
com.android.launcher.action.UNINSTALL_SHORTCUT................
i just did a nand restore and tried to run titanium backup but it keeps getting hung up, this time its been stuck at 42% for several minutes. should i just end process and try again?
i just stopped it at 42%...everything seems to have been restored from the nandroid restore. so i guess titanium is just to be used when your loading a custom rom and not a rom you have backed up?
Is there any way to have the home screen switch to a horizontal view when the phone is sideways?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wifes Incredible started shifting the home screen to the right without any touching. When its centered the screen begins swiping to the right as if a finger was there. In "all programs" it starts highlighting apps as if I was touching them but I am not. I have tried G-sensor calibration, keyboard calibration, restarts and the closing of apps but cant find where the trouble lies. Is it possible the touchscreen is now defective?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my incredible, the home, menu, back, and search notations on the body of the phone below the screen and above the trackball are not illuminated 95% of the time. If I am in the dark the notations are illuminated for a while, even when in a bright room. Then they go dark again.
Questions: Is there a setting I can adjust which can illuminate these notations all the time? Is this normal behavior?
Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy
I'm on the new 2.1 leak if that matters
I have been having this issue for a while. I was actually hoping that this morning's OTA update would fix the issue, however it did not. I do not know if it is just me or if this is a known issue. Sometimes (about 25% of the time) when I turn on my phone one of the apps on my home screen will automatically start. It is usually my calender app or Documents to Go, but it is always an app on my home screen. Anyone else have this issue or know of a fix for it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSorry if this sounds silly, but what are the benefits of using a launcher or home screen replacement (launcherpro, ADW, etc?) I mean, they look like they are copies of Sense UI, so I really do not see the benefit if you are on an HTC phone. I could definitely see if for other Android devices, but I am just confused as to what the benefit is.

View 21 Replies View RelatedAnyone having issues with their phone changing itself to Silent mode? Every morning, I switch to Vibrate before I go to work. At roughly 9:00, the phone will then change itself to Silent mode without me doing anything. The only thing I can think of is that I used to use the app "Settings Profiles" to do changes for me automatically. I wasnt crazy about it though so Ive uninstalled it. The program no longer shows up for me so I dont think thats the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got an iMac, which has its own apple calendar. I can also obviously use Google calendar. My Droid Incredible has a calendar app. I think it is the Google calendar.
Is there any reasonable and easy way to automatically sync calendars between my Incredible and my iMac?
Should the incredible just automatically sync with my computer? When I had my droid I just plugged it in and the droid said " do you want to sync" and I choose yes and I could go into "my computer" and into my phones files to drag and drop files etc, this phone is not giving me that option.
Secondly how much memory should be available under phone memory? Mines has 701mbs available but nothing saved to the 16gb card I have. How do I move things currently saved to the phone under the memory card?
when I'm at work I want Tasker to automatically forward my calls to my work phone. It can do that w/ its autodial feature. Now, I know that *72 will forward my calls to the number I specify, and *73 will disable that once I leave the defined area. The problem is that I use YouMail, and apparently *73 is the code for disabling the *71 busy/answer forwarding as well. It seems stupid that verizon used one code to disable 2 different features. How do I disable the *72 feature w/o disabling the *71 one?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple widgets from HTC this evening. They show up in the widget list but wont load to home screen. Instead when I select them I am taken to a screen with uninstall and details as choices. Usually if I tap the widgets they are placed on a home screen where they can be launched.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I fire up my web browser, Google is my home screen. Just below the search field my browser says "location unavailable update". When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. I've got nothing. I'm at a loss at how to enable this feature because I used to have it and liked it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have had the Incredible for a while now and I absolutely love the phone. The only thing that has really bugged me from day one is the positioning of the home screen. The phone is suppose to be fully customizable but it seems that the one thing I have yet to figure out is how to change where my home screen is located. I would much rather have my home screen set as the left most screen instead of having it directly in the middle of my seven available screens. You know, sort of like how the iphone is and what not. Does anyone know if something like this is possible?
