I have good service where I live. Is Verizon doing this?I decided to switch ROMs and I went for skyraider. Well I liked it a lot until it went into infinite reboot. How can I stop it from doing that? Why did it force close a lot?

A question for all the frequent ROM-switchers. I've got the premium edition of Titanium, and up 'till now, every time I try out a new ROM, I have to re-load all my apps/data. It's not terribly inconvenient - I just do the batch 'restore apps/data' option - but I still have to 'confirm' the re-loading of each app, and it takes forever. It give me an 'install' prompt for each app which I have to press. Is there a faster way of restoring all my apps/data?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I am new into the world of playing with phones. I come from the computer realm as an engineer for the past 10years or so. So far I have not tried to root or anything but I fully intend to give it a try in the very near future. Anyways the reason behind this post is I am interested in the possibility to dual boot my device. i.e. I want to keep the stock build of 2.1 with sense but I want to be able to still play around with a 2.1 or even 2.2 (hopefully) ROM without losing my stock setup. Is this even possible? I hear a lot of people also saying they switch between ROMs often. Can you do that without losing all of the data that you have loaded on the phone already? If that is the case then switching back and forth between stock and a new ROM takes out the need for the dual boot requirement.

1- I recently switched from a PC to a Mac. If I want to switch ROM's or go back to stock, can I do this on a mac? Or do I have to use a Windows pc?
2- I was interested in switching from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0c, but I'm a bit confused. Do I have to go back to stock, then root and flash 2.0c? Or can I flash it on top of 1.1?
Just a little heads up out there for people like me who flash roms ten times a day. If you haven't already experienced this issue, you are likely to come across it in the future.
It is probably a good idea to make a backup of the contents of your sd card to keep when flashing from an a2sd enable rom to a non a2sd enabled rom. If your partitioned for a2sd and flash a non a2sd rom it will hold you phone at the boot screen or send you into an endless boot cycle.
I had to take everything off my sd card, re format the card, then flash the rom before I could load everthing back onto the card.
I may be a total noob, and for all you smart people this is probably a no brainer. But if I can keep anyone else from having this headache I thought it best to post it.
I have a Galaxy Note i717 on stock ICS. I have had a custom rom on it before (CM10 nightly) but i reverted back to stock ROM. Well last night i found the Padawon ICS 6.2 ROM. So i downloaded it and put everything on the SD Card. Then went to google play and got a couple app to backup things like titanium backup and SMS backup. I am a frequent Tap Fish and Shipwrecked player so i backed them up in hopes to keep my game data. I also made a backup of current ROM. So i installed the ROM, went to the play store downloaded Titanium and went to restore apps and nothing was there. So i went and downloaded my games and i went back into Titanium backup and still no backups were shown. Is there any possible way to keep my game data when i switch roms?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch ROMs on my droid, and boot up the new ROM, sign in to my google account, etc. the market automatically starts downloading all of the apps that I had. Now, like most rooters, I'm using Titanium Backup and restore my apps through that so I keep all of the data and settings as well. How do I stop the market from automatically starting those downloads? All I need to download is TiBu so I can restore all of my backups. The last couple of times I just go into the market and cancel all of the downloads except TiBu but with over 100 apps, that's very time consuming. There has to be an easier way that I haven't found or read about yet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo PSX4Droid finally got released from the clutches of Google Market about an hour ago. Only problem now is I can't seem to get any roms to work. I set up a PSXROMS folder on my SD card, and my first d/l was Metal Gear Solid disc 1 and 2. I got them from here PSX ISO Download Section. So I downloaded the .rar, unzipped to get the .bin (says it's compatible), open the emulator, the emulator sees the files in the folder, I click it, it refreshes the rom screen. The emulator doesn't start. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong file type?

If you hold down the home button, a folder pops up containing all active applications. You can very easily switch back and forth between open apps this way. I have been using this function to switch between my calorie counter and weight watchers diary since neither have all the functionality I need at the moment.

One nice feature the BB had was that it would shift from ringing mode to vibrate mode by simply slipping it into its case. Absolutely nothing had to be done to the device itself, other than configuring it to do this. Given that Android phones don't have this feature, what is the simplest and quickest way to move around among ring, vibrate, and silent modes of operation? Any way to do it with a single tap or two?

The phone decided to have a mind of its own and was actually switching between screens itself. Every time I hit the home button it would switch to screen 2 and three and so on and so on. Also when I tried to text right after that I was unable to input text for w.e. reason. After a shut off and turn on of the phone the issue was resolved; "weird". Anyone else having this problem?

Right now, each time I click to go back to Home, I get the pop-up to choose ADW or HTC Sense, and if I want it to be my default launcher. I haven't chosen either as my default because I don't know how to switch back if I get tired of one of them. Like, say I get tired of ADW. How do I switch back to HTC Sense as my default home without uninstalling ADW?Also, I miss my Digital Clock and weather widget. It's not a huge amount,but I usually find two or so a week.This has been going on for a while now and I don't see any pattern to it other than I believe it is limited to contacts that are (or have been) used in the HTC People widget.Now.I just switched to LauncherProPlus. so we'll see if this behavior continues. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk first off, let me just say I absolutely love my phone. Pretty much everything about it makes me smile. I got it the first week it came out (got it at Best Buy - only place in Tucson with it in stock) and have loved every minute of it. I surf these forums (just registered today though) and noticed people with battery issues or stuff like that. I have none of that and usually get a day and a half of battery life if I dont use lots of apps or play games. I have one issue though!My first question is with the camera cover... the little plastic/glass cover over it really. My phone was getting a lot of dust under the cover of it and it was bugging me. So I took it to a Verizon store and they did a warranty replacement for me. The lady told me "Im not supposed to do this but I'll do it this one time." so I said thank you and was fine with it, but then she told me to go get a case to prevent it happening again. Well.... first off there I havent really seen a case that covers the camera part, and if there was one, I wouldnt want it as I use the camera a lot. Anyways, my replacement phone was fine for about 3 weeks and then I noticed the red ring was a bit loose on it. The sticky tape kinda came off a bit and now there is dust starting to get under this one. Should I be bothered by this or am I overreacting?
Also, a question for the future. I know my dad wants to cancel with Verizon and get a cheaper plan with a different company. Problem is, we're on a family plan so if he switches my bill will skyrocket. Im currently 21 and have a shitty job. so Im wondering if there is anyone who knows of a guide to flash the Incredible to Cricket service (I know its not that good of service, but it'd be 1/2 the price of me on Verizon alone). I know it can be done, but I dont feel like paying a guy $50 to do it for me.
On my phone whenever I use the music player or Pandora or anything with music, and I plug in my headphones it messes up. It'll work normal and then all of a sudden itll switch to a headset icon and the music messes up. I have to take out the headphones and plug them back in, and on Pandora I have to switch songs also. I've tried 3 sets of headphones and even a pair of speakers. Tried search, didn't find anything.

Was streaming Pandora for a couple hours while working, then went to type a text and the full size landscape qwerty wouldn't come up only that aweful portrait mode cramped keyboard that makes me feel like I am typing on a blackberry now the browser won't switch to landscape either which is 'incredibly' annoying. Teeter seems to work fine, on level 19 and also "Bubble" an app for Leveling which switches to landscape in either direction.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone having issues with their phone changing itself to Silent mode? Every morning, I switch to Vibrate before I go to work. At roughly 9:00, the phone will then change itself to Silent mode without me doing anything.The only thing I can think of is that I used to use the app "Settings Profiles" to do changes for me automatically. I wasnt crazy about it though so Ive uninstalled it. The program no longer shows up for me so I dont think thats the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having some issues with Google Voice (people saying that they didn't always get my voicemail or sometimes it was some automated thing instead of my Google Voice message). I can't afford not getting my voice messages so I want to switch back. However, now whenever I get a voicemail it shows up in my notification bar and I click on the notification and it automatically calls a google voice number. However, when I enter my pin it says I have no messages. So I'm assuming they are on my Verizon Voicemail. But I can't get to them. I finally figured out that in settings you have to then go to the Call menu and change the Voicemail Service back to "My carrier" from Google Voice. But then the Voicemail Number stills shows as the google voice number.What is the number to change it to for Verizon Voicemail? Will that take care of it and allow me to check the 3 unheard messages and then get all of my messages from here on out?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo what is going on after the last update? My phone randomly freaks out at times and starts switching screens and stuff on it's own. Seems like it is possessed. Never did this before the update...and a friend of mine is having the same problem with their Incredible. Also at times I try to go back to the home screen and the screen goes completely black for a bit....then will eventually go to it. When it freaks out the only thing I can do is restart it and then it will work fine until the next time it freaks out.
