I have the Droid Incredible and want to add some MP3s to it. Which folder do I drag and drop to from my computer? Can I just make a folder and call it MP3? Also, does the droid know the difference between music and podcast?

I have a couple mp3 iwould like to use as notification sounds but as you may know they have to be in the correct folder to show up. my problem is my usb cable for the phone is broken and can only be used to charge the phone and not a usb data connection. so i need to somehow move the mp3 to the folder using only the phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI use voice recorder to record meetings and when I play music offline, I'm constantly pressing skip to get the stupid thing to play the music again (on shuffle).
lot of voice recordings in say "voice recorder folder" and all my music in the "music" folder but all the music players just pull .mp3 from the whole phone because I'll go from ACDC to, "today we will be discussing in today's meeting."
Making one big playlist of music.mp3 seems like a lousy work around which is all I can think of.
And still have the device and other apps like Act1 read them? I just put a bunch of videos into a folder I created titled "Videos" and now Act1 can't find em and the default picture viewer seems to create doubles. How do you guys organize them? Ok I just restarted my device and it looks like apps are starting to read things right again, so that's good. It's ok if I keep everything in a created folder right?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to make Amazon MP3 download to the SD card.As I understand MP3 downloads should go to the SD Card by default.On my phone (non-rooted) it keeps on creating "amazonmp3s" folder on the phone internal memory storage to save downloaded files. Amazon MP3 app doesn't have a setting to save to the SD. How can I fix this? Am I missing something?

I woild like for instance make a folder called Games and put all the games in this folder to clean up the App Screen a bit. View 7 Replies View RelatedI was cruising an Incredible manual online and I saw this screen about connecting the Inc to a PC. I'm new to Android but I did have an Eris for a few days to try out. On that phone I would hook it to my laptop, open the notifications bar, and choose "Mount" to be able to drag files back and forth.
In this picture, there is no "Mount" choice. How do you drag files back & forth?
Also, what is USB debugging? Do I need to select that in order to drag files back and forth?
is that possible or should i just throw away my AVD and create a new one with an SD Card?

I'm just now getting around to trying to add some custom notification sounds, and ring tones I've made myself.Problem is there are no set folders on my SD card for ring tones, notifications or photos like I've had on other phones in the past.So, can someone tell me what folders I should make to put things in their appropriate place and have them actually show up on the phone?I tried just dragging and dropping a few small mp3 files I want to use as notification sounds directly onto the SD card but that didn't work. I'm at a loss for what folders to add and name.

I'm honestly holding out for some of the new 1 Ghz machines to come out and do some comparisons. Anyway, I would imagine one would easily be able to make whatever folders they choose on an sd card, but on the emulated one, I can only seem to push entire folder contents or single files to the root. The adb help doesn't appear to have a command to make a folder. Is this not possible, or am I just missing something?
