View 29 RepliesWhat is your favourite or your must useful. Just found a useful app on the market. Its called upsounddown.
when you make or receive a call by holding your phone upside down or lay it flat on a table it will turn your loudspeaker on.
I know there is one of these on the Apps board but I was wondering what your favourite app or apps are on your Desire.
Mine?
1 - Hancent (free) - So much more customisable and just so much better than the stock sms app. I particularly like setting a different colour icon for people, meaning I know who has text me without looking.
2 - Thinking Space (free) - Mind mapping app, I find it really useful for many things, especially when I can take down ideas when I am on the move and can't access my PC.
3 - Bebbled (free) - A great little time wasting game, I have wasted many an hour on this one.
I would like to know your top 5 applications for the moto droid. In order of 1st best to 5th best.

So far I have discovered Set CPU, which seems great for saving battery.
Has Anyone else found any decent battery saving root apps that I could apply?
Also, what are your favourite root access apps?
I have rom manager and tried adfree android, but that didn't like editing the hosts file and didn't block the ads I hoped.
What are three of your favourite android games and apps?
View 23 Replies View RelatedMy Hero came with the Favourite Widget on the scene. I set up a few friends and have been using the feature for a few days. Then I don't know what I did it just disappeared. I couldn't find it in all the widgets -- Shortcut, HTC Widget, Android and Folder, but I can still find the Favourite inside People though. How do I put it back on the scene?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do you change the order of your favourite contacts in the widget?
I'm on a HTC Hero, Android v1.5
I want my wife at the top of the list & would like to be able to re-sort the list as I find who I communicate with most often, but it seems to just display them in the order that you make them favourites. Most recent at the top.
I don't want to have to clear my favourites and then start again every time I wan't to change it.
Whats your favourite wallpaper image to use for home/lock screens?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had a Milestone running Android 2.1 for about a week.
Just thought I'd share the list of my favourite apps:
k-9 email (the only Android email client with imap idle push email, afaik)
k-9 data killer (widget to turn push email on/off)
Email Popup (for K-9 email): pops up a small box every time a new email is received
SMS Popup (as above, for text messages)
pure calendar widget
remember the milk (to do list; Astrid is a free alternative, and connects to the RTM servers, too)
Websms (with fishtext connector): sends cheap sms with fishtext
ContactsGroupU: shows contacts by group
a online radio
ColorNote
Fring (skype, messenger etc)
Quicksettings
EboBirthday
battery indicator (Darshan computing)
Profiles (egg 'n stone)
KeePassDroid (keepass password manager)
Multilang dictionary
Google translate
yxflash (to watch divx videos)
Startup auditor (checks which apps start at boot up)
android mate (organizes apps by category)
any cut: customizable shortcuts
B&B droidlight: turns your droid into a flashlight
Dailystrip: daily comic strip
Forums have a tendency of becoming cesspools of dissatisfaction. I would love to hear what everyone likes about their "superphone".

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been playing about with my homescreens and I'm looking for some new/different widgets. What are y'alls favourite widgets?
Mine are: Touiteur, weatherbug, batterylife, and tunewiki.
I'm having trouble using the favourites widget. I can manage my favourites using the dropdown in 'people' when viewing my phonebook.I can add favourites.I want to add 2 favourites for a contact I call and text (one shortcut for call, one for text).I can add one or the other, but not both. Is there a simpe way around this? (I don't want a shortcut on the main screen, I want to use the favourites widget)

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe world of Android applications is growing everyday with around 50,000 applications in the Android Market alone, you can find almost anything you want. So, take a minute and share you favourite Android applications here. Are you a fan of games, or maybe productivity applications?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI know there is a dedicated section for apps, but they work different on each phone, so what are my fellow DHD users using.
My current Top 10
1 Winamp
An excellent replacement, tried a few after being spoilt rotten by the iPhone's music player. In Winamp, I've finally found a music player to compare to this.
2 Peep
The standard HTC Twitter client looks good and is easy to use.
3 Tune In Radio
Not really used this much but used it loads on the iPhone. A huge directory of stations to listen to.
4 MP3 Music Downloader
Get music tracks for FREE (legally debatable) But what I like is the ability to preview on the go, nice if you think "I wish I could listen to that track right now"
5 Google Maps
Superb free navigation, used it to find a pub I wanted to go to (on foot) Drains the battery if you have it on for too long though
FOUR GREAT GAMES
6 Paper Toss
7 Angry Birds
8 Teeter
9 Bubble
10 Backgrounds - shed loads of free backgrounds to choose for your phone, nice and easy to use, all in catagories for easy navigation
So yes with the iPhone you can have lots and lots of apps because it is internal memory but im wondering how many apps you will be able to install onto the hero? Some games take up a lot of space, no?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs anyone aware of a listing of apps that require Android 2.1 to run (e.g. apps like Google Goggles, etc.)? I've searched the threads here at Android Forums and elsewhere and haven't been able to find such a list or site.
Now that I upgraded to 2.1, I'd like to "see what I've been missing" and take advantage of the new OS.
So, I installed the N1 News and Weather App and find it to be awesome!
My question...are there any other apps from the N1 or other android phones that will work on the Hero?
I would like to know whats some free ringer apps? browser apps? fb apps? music apps? and theme apps?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if the upcoming Android 2.1 update to the Sprint Hero will allow us to save apps to the SD card without having to root the phone? And also, some things to think about: remember that the Hero only runs class 2 speeds, even if the card is class 6. Do you think this will change once we receive Android 2.1? Because if not, I would imagine that the phone would be slow opening apps (assuming apps to SD will be available).I know that if they do program the Hero to allow class 6 speeds, and allow apps to SD (without root) then the Hero could run MUCH faster than it does now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to remove pre-installed programs?
For example, the following programs were pre-installed:
Amazon MP3
Footprints
Teeter
And maybe some others.
I've just tried:
Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?
Sprint TV
Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I have a rooted HTC Hero, and I was, until a couple of days ago, running MoDaCos 1.6 ROM.
I decided, (foolishly perhaps?) to try to move my apps to the SD card. I partitioned the Sdcard using Amon Ra's boot recovery screen and all went fine. I then used the option "move apps to SD" also included in the boot recovery. I am now using Froyd Villain's newest froyo ROM, and all the apps are working fine but the apps aren't on the phone, and they aren't on the ext- partition of my sdcard, so i come to the conclution that they must be on the fat 32 partition, but how the heck do i access them? Neither the phone nor my computer can access the fat32 pertition of my sdcard.
The problem being that I've just bought a larger sdcard, and I want to transfer all my apps to that card, but I can't since I can't even locate the files.
I have tried backing up all the aplications using titanium backup, but the phone won't boot without the sdcard, so i cant import them onto the new card. Any suggestions?
I upgraded to villain 5.2 today and I'm eager to check out the apps I've been missing whilst I was stuck on android 1.5
So, what's the best 2.1 apps that people can recommend?
I've got Google Goggles and seen the update to Maps to all navigation, but that's it really.
Also, I've noticed that the battery widget supplied by HTC on the market is not 2.1 compatible. I went to install it and it throws out an error. Typical HTC
For some reason whenever I put my card details into the store checkout it fails to connect to the server, its quite annoying because I would like to buy a few games!I wonder why there is no iTunes type system or the payment just gets added to the bill/deducted from credit..
