View 29 Replies View RelatedI know there is one of these on the Apps board but I was wondering what your favourite app or apps are on your Desire.
Mine?
1 - Hancent (free) - So much more customisable and just so much better than the stock sms app. I particularly like setting a different colour icon for people, meaning I know who has text me without looking.
2 - Thinking Space (free) - Mind mapping app, I find it really useful for many things, especially when I can take down ideas when I am on the move and can't access my PC.
3 - Bebbled (free) - A great little time wasting game, I have wasted many an hour on this one.

View 28 Replies View RelatedMy Hero came with the Favourite Widget on the scene. I set up a few friends and have been using the feature for a few days. Then I don't know what I did it just disappeared. I couldn't find it in all the widgets -- Shortcut, HTC Widget, Android and Folder, but I can still find the Favourite inside People though. How do I put it back on the scene?

So far I have discovered Set CPU, which seems great for saving battery.
Has Anyone else found any decent battery saving root apps that I could apply?
Also, what are your favourite root access apps?
I have rom manager and tried adfree android, but that didn't like editing the hosts file and didn't block the ads I hoped.

I want my wife at the top of the list & would like to be able to re-sort the list as I find who I communicate with most often, but it seems to just display them in the order that you make them favourites. Most recent at the top.
I don't want to have to clear my favourites and then start again every time I wan't to change it.

My current Top 10
1 Winamp
An excellent replacement, tried a few after being spoilt rotten by the iPhone's music player. In Winamp, I've finally found a music player to compare to this.
2 Peep
The standard HTC Twitter client looks good and is easy to use.
3 Tune In Radio
Not really used this much but used it loads on the iPhone. A huge directory of stations to listen to.
4 MP3 Music Downloader
Get music tracks for FREE (legally debatable) But what I like is the ability to preview on the go, nice if you think "I wish I could listen to that track right now"
5 Google Maps
Superb free navigation, used it to find a pub I wanted to go to (on foot) Drains the battery if you have it on for too long though
FOUR GREAT GAMES
6 Paper Toss
7 Angry Birds
8 Teeter
9 Bubble
10 Backgrounds - shed loads of free backgrounds to choose for your phone, nice and easy to use, all in catagories for easy navigation
I'm looking for widgets that could occupy my last screen.I have already used HTc stock widgets that I like, plus Astrid tasks widget and extended controls 1x4 widget.hopefully something functional, cool and/or interactive widgets that are 1x4, 2x4, 4x4 or any large one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Android application development and I'm currently experimenting with various UI ideas. In the image below, you can see a vertically scrolling list of horizontally scrolling galleries (and also textviews as you can see). I'm also doing some matrix and camera transformations which I will come to in a minute.
For the background of the list elements, I use green. Blue is the background of the galleries, and red is the background for the images. These are just for my benefit of learning.
The galleries being used are extended classes where I overrode the drawChild method to perform a canvas scale operation in order for the image closest to the center (width) to be larger than the others. The list view going vertically, I overrode the drawChild method and used the camera rotations from lack of depth dimension in the canvas functionality. The items in the list are scaled down and rotated relative to their position's proximity to the center (height).............
I have had a Milestone running Android 2.1 for about a week.
Just thought I'd share the list of my favourite apps:
k-9 email (the only Android email client with imap idle push email, afaik)
k-9 data killer (widget to turn push email on/off)
Email Popup (for K-9 email): pops up a small box every time a new email is received
SMS Popup (as above, for text messages)
pure calendar widget
remember the milk (to do list; Astrid is a free alternative, and connects to the RTM servers, too)
Websms (with fishtext connector): sends cheap sms with fishtext
ContactsGroupU: shows contacts by group
a online radio
ColorNote
Fring (skype, messenger etc)
Quicksettings
EboBirthday
battery indicator (Darshan computing)
Profiles (egg 'n stone)
KeePassDroid (keepass password manager)
Multilang dictionary
Google translate
yxflash (to watch divx videos)
Startup auditor (checks which apps start at boot up)
android mate (organizes apps by category)
any cut: customizable shortcuts
B&B droidlight: turns your droid into a flashlight
Dailystrip: daily comic strip

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving seen so many people posting images of their home screens, I have come to the conclusion that I must be the only person to hardly use widgets! I have two - Calendar Pad (1x1) which shows me todays date and when I click it it takes me direct to my week view, and the Power Bar to turn off WiFi, GPS, etc. I've tried things like Face book, Twitter, News, etc, and just get frustrated as they don't really display enough. Maybe I've just not found the RIGHT widgets yet, but I fear I may be missing out on something!
