My HTC Hero have sd card slot broken. now i want to replace slot. i was told that only origional sd card slot of htc hero phone should be replaced to phone but here origional slot is not available..would an ordinary slot work?

This phone has the WORST idea for an sd slot.When trying to take out my sd card, i took off the cover that holds the sd card.I could use some pictures on how its supposed to look when connected. I have been trying to put it back on and all I ended up doing was bending it.I got my hands on an HTC Leo Windows mobile 6.5. Best implementation of an SD card slot ever.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, now THIS is weird. Overnight, apparently my SD Card died. Android could not mount it and when I put it in my card reader and looked at it, it was EMPTY and showed only 30.2 mb capacity.
I tried formatting it and even writing a file to it. The 30.2 mb worked like a charm.
So I don't get it. Either it's broken or it's not. How can all but 30.2 mb of it be broken?
Is there a way to move one of the seven "home pages" to a different slot. Let's say, for example, that I have all my pages nicely set up with widgets aligned, etc. Then I decide that I want to get the first page (furthest from the central "home page") to be the second one. Can I move it without having to completely move all the widgets from page to page?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI had to change the housing for my HTC Hero GSM Unlocked, and though I believe I didn't break/crack or damage anything, especially the speakers, after reassembly my speakers are not working any more, no more audible ring tone, sound notifications. Everything else is working fine, and with earphones, I can hear everything. I even re dissembled it and couldn't find anything that was broken, or loose, or damaged. Can anyone anyone point me in the right direction please! OR anyone know where I can get a new HTC Hero GSM version internal speaker? I tried on eBay and couldn't find anything. are there HTC repair centers around NYC?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIm having problems with my sms vibrate being broken after flashing a new rom and rebooting it the first time. The sms vibrate may or may not work on the first boot, but afterwards it usually doesnt work anymore after another reboot. This happens on pretty much any rom, usually a hit or miss but its happened like 5 times for the RCMix rom ive been trying to put on. So just wondering if any of you flash maniacs can shed on light on what i could be doing wrong. Everything else works fine, only the sms vibrate. I know i have all the settings correct.
So this is the order of what i do when i flash a new rom.
Wipe everything
Partition sd card (0/512)
Flash rom zip file
Flash kernal
Boot (sms vibrate usually works)
Do some settings
Reboot (this is when the sms vibrate stops working, if works, next boot it wont)
Is anyone else's push email from Gmail broken? Mine is. I've played with the settings, restored to the stock rom, sent myself an email from the computer, but the notification never comes up. If I go into Gmail, the mail is sitting there for me to read though.

I left the outlook contacts on the phone (just in case), but switched the View item in people to only show the gmail contacts. Whenever I make or receive a call now, the caller ID lookup always tells me I'm calling or receiving a call from one particular user, who is not the caller/callee. Clearly I need to clear a lookup cache, but which one? There are the following caches/data that might need to be cleared: Contacts Storage, Gmail Storage, People.
