View 6 RepliesI got the htc hero with some kind of custom firmware on it, so i threw on a rooted version of the original firmware to get a feel for it without all the cutsom stuff. Now i went and installed modaco 3.1 and i miss the sense ui. IS there any way to install modaco 3.1 with the sense ui?

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, so I figured I would post it. Since flashing DC 2.08.1 on Sunday, I've had sense crash on me quite a few times per day. It did it twice on Sunday, four times yesterday and twice all ready today. I did flash the Espresso w/ stock rosie theme from DCUpdater and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated as I really don't want to have to re-flash. If I have to go that way, I will probably just reload my nandroid of Fresh 2.0d.

Sense UI has quite some changes to activities like Contacts. So intents to select Phone number (new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, Phones.CONTENT_URI) ) work differently from default Contacts app, and things like viewing Call Log ( new Intent ("com.android.phone.action.RECENT_CALLS"); ) do not work at all. Is there a way to test my code against Hero device, beside getting physical device.
Just purchased an unlock code from HTCCode to unlock my Orange UK phone. Didn't work. I am now back on my Orange sim but cannot get my phone to fully boot up. I get the message The Application HTC Sense(process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I've tried several times with the force close button, without success. I cannot get to any screens to do a factory reset.I am running 1.5 on 2.73.61.66
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe screen wont respond to anything. and it just keeps restarting itself... and when it turns to the home page.. it always says htc sense failed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my Hero (2.1) to Facebook, I can log in to the Facebook app (latest version) with no problems, but when I try and log into Facebook for HTC Sense (in settings->accounts) I get an error telling me that the service is currently unavailable. Several people posting online have fixed this issue by changing Facebook privacy settings; but as far as I can see my settings permit the application. I have removed FB for HTC Sense from the Facebook Applications page and when I attempt to login it reappears there with permissions allowed but the phone repeats the unavailable message. I have tried logging out of the Facebook app first but this makes no difference. I have just rooted my phone and installed VillainROM 12, but I don't think this issue directly relates to the rooting. Feel free to redirect me to the rooting subforum if I'm wrong.
View 49 Replies View Relatedcan i run the HOME setup with all the nexus sweetness (weather/news app, maybe some icons...) and still be able to switch back to my SENSE the way I have it set up now when I want (just by going into applications and switching out the defaults between SENSE and HOME) without having to flash, reboot, etc.?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am about to get my Hero back and was wondering if Open Home & Sense UI played nice together? Will I get to use Open Home & HTC Widgets? View 1 Replies View RelatedIve searched but I cant find it...I was using Sense UI and Slide Screen as my home replacements but i clicked on that thing that makes slide screen my main one and i cant switch from slidescreen to sense now.
how do i go back to sense without removing slidescreen
I've found this great home replacement app called launcherpro that is wayyy faster and smoother than the sense home. I currently have this set as my default home, so I just pull up taskiller to kill off sense and free up some memory. Even though I kill sense off with taskiller I see that sense has started back up every once and awhile and was wondering both why it starts back up and whether there is a way to stop it from doing so? Also, will killing sense like this lead to any problems down the road?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have looked there, and xda is my next stop, but I would like to ditch Sense and use the standard Android UI. Does anyone know if this is possible? I am not talking about flashing the ROM but rather stopping Sense and loading the normal UI. I am not having any real problems with the Sense UI per se but from playing with other Android devices I think I prefer the normal interface.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI've recently got rid of ChompSMS and gone for HandcentSMS
On first impressions I was impressped with Handcent and although theres no major differences I prefer it to Chomp.
However, it seems everytime I get a text and the box appears on my homescreen with whos text me and the message, HTC Sense keeps closing and I get the error "Sorry! The Application HTC Sense (process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later."
Now, I've only had this problem the last few days since installing Handcent, but a restart seems to fix it for a short while.
Also the whole phone has seemed really really laggy at times, again, turning off and on fixes this for a while, while killing applications with Taskiller makes no effect, but a day or so later it just gets so laggy again and it never used to!?
Anyone else had similar problems? I'm running the latest MoDaCo Rom
Anyone got a link to the normal Sense theme. I've grown tired of the current VR12 theme and want to go back to the normal one. Can't find it anywhere though, any help?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI forgot what i clicked on but it asked me "complete action using" then it gave me three choices to choose from which were
Default home
HTC sence
Forgot the third
This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?
I have a rooted Hero, running Fresh 2.3.3 ROM with DarchKernel786. I use LauncherPro and want to delete HTC sense from taking up so much internal memory! Is this possible? Also, i want to remove some stock apps like Peep from my phone as well, but they do not show up under app uninstaller. I've read that root explorer app can accomplish this, but the app was really confusing and I didn't understand. Can someone help me out?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use LWP in HTC Sense in Fresh? I know the flip guy sent out a fix for this, but that took away weather animations (and I like that). Also the LWP ran a bit laggy, as opposed to when I ran the LWP with the undo fix. The issue is though, when I run it with the fix undone, whenever I wake the phone up, it disappears. Is this some sort of remedy for this.
