May 11, 2010I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, so I figured I would post it. Since flashing DC 2.08.1 on Sunday, I've had sense crash on me quite a few times per day. It did it twice on Sunday, four times yesterday and twice all ready today. I did flash the Espresso w/ stock rosie theme from DCUpdater and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated as I really don't want to have to re-flash. If I have to go that way, I will probably just reload my nandroid of Fresh 2.0d.

May 23, 2010Before upgrading to 2.1, I was able to turn off Sense UI by following these steps:How to: Turn off HTC Sense | AndroidGuys.Now, when I select "Clear Defaults" and hit the HOME button, all it does is take me back to the Sense UI home.Does anyone know how to turn off Sense UI with the new 2.1 firmware? Rooting is not an option.

May 27, 2010I've found this great home replacement app called launcherpro that is wayyy faster and smoother than the sense home. I currently have this set as my default home, so I just pull up taskiller to kill off sense and free up some memory. Even though I kill sense off with taskiller I see that sense has started back up every once and awhile and was wondering both why it starts back up and whether there is a way to stop it from doing so? Also, will killing sense like this lead to any problems down the road?

Oct 15, 2009I have looked there, and xda is my next stop, but I would like to ditch Sense and use the standard Android UI. Does anyone know if this is possible? I am not talking about flashing the ROM but rather stopping Sense and loading the normal UI. I am not having any real problems with the Sense UI per se but from playing with other Android devices I think I prefer the normal interface.

This is referring to the homescreen and the default home is what the defualt android home screen looks like and HTC sence is what i need. I clicked on the Defualt home and now my home screen looks different. How do i get that option to pop up again so I can choose HTC sence?

Sep 2, 2010I have a rooted Hero, running Fresh 2.3.3 ROM with DarchKernel786. I use LauncherPro and want to delete HTC sense from taking up so much internal memory! Is this possible? Also, i want to remove some stock apps like Peep from my phone as well, but they do not show up under app uninstaller. I've read that root explorer app can accomplish this, but the app was really confusing and I didn't understand. Can someone help me out?

Aug 21, 2010Is it possible to use LWP in HTC Sense in Fresh? I know the flip guy sent out a fix for this, but that took away weather animations (and I like that). Also the LWP ran a bit laggy, as opposed to when I ran the LWP with the undo fix. The issue is though, when I run it with the fix undone, whenever I wake the phone up, it disappears. Is this some sort of remedy for this.

The new weather app HTC included with v2.1 doesn't allow me to add cities that aren't in its list ... frankly I don't give a crap what the weather in Paris or Dubai is! We used to be able to input additional cities, current locations, etc. and swipe thru the list. If there's a way to add cities I haven't found it yet ... anyone know how?
I've looked at the WeatherBug, Accuweather, Weather Channel, etc., etc. apps and while they're nice they don't allow me to EASILY switch from city to city. So, what I'm looking for is EXACTLY what we had before.... Anyone know where I can find that?

Jul 11, 2010I have rooted 2.1 on my Sprint Hero. So far I have tried Fresh 2.3.3, Darchdroid 2.7 and PureHero 2.3.I rooted for several issues, most of which have been solved, but my number one issue seems to still be haunting me. Good corporate exchange support! Sense based ROM's (Fresh 2.3.3 and stock) support Exchanges security policy and force you to enter a PIN, but bring up the keyboard. My company requires number in the PIN and therefore I have to switch to numbers and enter my pin on a keyboard. I can no longer chew gum and use my phone at the same time. Nonsense based ROM's (Darch and Pure) don't require the PIN and allow me to use a pattern security on my phone, but they don't let me overlay my exchange calendar onto my phone with my google calendar. They only sync mail and contacts. Hope this is where I am missing something. This is a deal breaker for me since I have google calendars for everyone in my family and exchange for work. Got to see them all in one place to be where I need to be.I have tried Lockpicker on the sense ROM's, but then I have no phone security. I have too much info on my phone to go with no security, but I don't want to quit chewing gum.Any suggestions? Is there ways to pick and choose some of the features in sense?

Apr 5, 2010I've never had "bad" battery life but have always felt that the battery does die pretty quick. I'm text up to 100 texts a day tops, pretty heavy internet (checking work emails all day), a few phone calls here and there. Maybe some music here and there, nothing to justify the less than desirable battery life. Spare parts never showed anything out of line either. Rooting was something I had no desire to do (I tried it and found it useless for me). Like a few others, I'm patiently waiting for *whispers* THE UPDATE. Anyways I turned off Sense the other day and DRASTICALLY improved my battery life. Sense ON- wifi off, gps off, location off, mobile internet off. pretty much EVERYTHING off. By 1pm my battery was usually 50-60%. By 10pm my battery was dead. Sense OFF - wifi on and mobile internet on ALL DAY. Now by 5pm my battery is usually around 70%. Running music/HEAVY internet for the rest of the night leaves my battery at 35% by night end.

The only problem is, there is no default to clear. I can't even click on it and force close does not work.

Sep 16, 2010after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?

Jul 5, 2010I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
