I've got a new HTC Hero and I want to update the firmware on it.Im currently on version 1.0.0.A6288 is there a new update?
I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Hero/T-Mobile G2 Touch and I still do not have the latest firmware 2.1 update on it. I've got as far as changing the year to 2013 and it brings up the request to update the phone. I select to update it and it turns off my phone to install.
It then loads but stops half-way and it just shows a white triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle with an image of a phone underneath. The update does not continue from there. I've tried it at least 4 times and it's done the same every time.

Should I update the firmware on my rooted Hero, and if so, how would I go about doing this? The OTA download occurs, as well as the beginning of the install, but I get to the green screen and it says:
Welcome

The version of the software that is most current is version 6 (the phone shipped with version 3).
To ascertain version: Go to Dialer/Hit Star/#9999#
You will see the PDA; Phone; and Software Version numbers in this section
The T939xxxx6 for PDA AND PHONE and then
Software Version - ending in .006 on the last line.
I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
Does anyone have an idea what the difference is between the Firmware Update - 1.47.651.1 (21.43 MB) and the HTC software update 1.32.651.6 (13.14MB) is? My phone prompted me to do the Firmware update this afternoon and it worked great. I checked my wifes EVO this evening and noticed she still had the older software version 1.32.651.1.When I checked for a Firmware Update nothing is available for her phone. However, if I check for the HTC software Update it shows 1.32.651.1 is available for download. This isn't the same version I was prompted to download this afeternoon.

So after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.

View 32 Replies View RelatedLast night they were all there, this morning nothing. At first I thought it was just slow to load them, it sometimes happens & you wait for a couple of seconds then they all appear. But not today. I updated my firmware yesterday twice - first to 1.32.405.3 and then to 1.32.405.6 - but they were definitely there after the updates. I've seen some other threads with the same issue on other phones but they're all at least a few months old. htcsense.com has, disaapointingly, not got all of my messages either. It seems to have most of them (including the last one I sent) but somehow is missing some in between.
View 19 Replies View RelatedThis morning, I received a Firmware update notification. I clicked it to download it and it updated.
I have now got the following details:-
Firmware version: 2.1-Update1
Sofware Number: 1.15.110.11

Anyone have any idea what the bug fixes or improvements were?

View 3 Replies View RelatedHaven't heard much lately regarding this topic, I hope people don't let Samsung off the hook. We need to keep the pressure applied until something is delivered. What bothers me the most is, if the Epic has the GPS fix, why not the rest of us? Goes to prove that the GPS issue might still be being worked on and Samsung/Sprint are just trying to calm fears.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI ran across this great forum post over at xda developers forum, and they are encouraging us to send HTC emails to tell them to release the firmware update for the phone to fix the 30FPS cap which would be great because then there would be nothing holding developers back from making great apps for the phone, and the phone itself will run better too... According to the last update on the OP's post from June 14th, the update is coming but let's continue to write into HTC so they'll send it out asap!Source: Evo capping all graphics to 30FPS:The reason why graphics performance sucks right now - xda-developers
