View 2 Replies View RelatedPicked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?
View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question: Where in the .pkg update package is the information on the build and the version of the update? I sort of screwed up my tablet, I can boot into stock recovery but not much more. ADB won't work, and AFAIK nobody knows how to enter fastboot mode on this thing. Hence, I figured that the only way to reinstall the ROM is to trick recovery into installing an update package that's already installed.
The tablet is Fujitsu STYLISTIC M532.
I am wondering if I am on the newest firmware / software for my Hero (Sprint) I went to Settings / About Phone / System Updates etc .. downloaded a update... It now saysmy firmware version is 1.5 and software version is 1.56.651.2 not really sure but I thought I was reading people are on version 2.0 and higher not sure but anyway do Ihave to go to the Sprint website or the HTC website for the newer version if there is in fact one?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to understand how end-users will upgrade their device firmware from Android ver. X to X+1. A new build of Android contains system.img and userdata.img (among others). system.img is read-only, so I don't see any problem with simply replacing the user's existing copy. However, simply overwriting userdata.img with a newer version would destroy all of an end-users application data (wouldn't it?).
I'm trying to understand how this process will work for our Android- based device. It seems that the designers of Android must have had a plan for doing this without the user losing all of their data, but I can't find any documentation about this. Googling for this information yields lots of pages containing hacker- level instructions (e.g. adb commands) -- still no idea how this process was envisioned to work for average end-users.
I have a HTC One unlocked and rooted. I have flashed a custom ROM software num - 3.22.1540.1. I'm trying to unroot and return to stock.
On the fastboot info is- M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH HBOOT-1.54.0000 RADIO-4A.17.3250.14 OpenDSP-V31.120.274.0617 OS- eMMC-BOOT 2048MB
Why don't I have an OS number? I don't know which RUU to download?
What I did was create two .java files. One that can compile and run on a 1.5 phone (SDK3) and then one that works on 2.0(SDK5) So for this example i'll call the 1.5 file ExampleOld and the new one Example. I was wondering if i just made activity like this if it would work sort of like a "portal" and pick the activity to load depending on the SDK so there is no crash or compile errors. Are there any changes I should make to my code? Maybe anyone out there that's had to do this before.
CODE:.................................
I've installed galaxo (galaxhero to be precise) for quite a while now and it's been awesome. Only thing is, my Chinese ID3 tags come out as gibberish, I think it's 'cause of the II5 firmware. I've read threads about flashing to II5 before installed galaxo, but since updated versions have been coming out, I just wanted to find out. Is galaxo strictly only for II5? Meaning it isn't backward NOR forward compatible? My gibberish ID3 tags are really bugging me.

I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.
I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the "Update Available From Sprint" thread, making sure I was on v1.29.651.1, yada yada. Worked on this for a week and a half. Spoke with Sprint, spoke with HTC, no luck. Going to firmware update always reported NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.
Took the phone back to Best Buy and demanded an exchange. After receiving the new phone, went to try to firmware update, it showed that one was available. I asked for my old battery back since it was charged fully so that I could do the update. Put my old battery back in, went to update, NO UPDATE AVAILABLE!
Turns out it was my battery? Put the new one back in and the update was successful. I had scoured the net before but did not notice anyone with this particular issue. I

I have never had any issues with the bluetooth audio connection with Microsoft Sync in my car but since the update I can't get through a track without drops all over the place. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure who I should complain to about this, HTC or Google, but after I did the most recent Hero (sprint) firmware update I am unable to see applications that I developed nor several applications that I paid for (and free ones) on the Market. This makes updating them unavailable. Also, if I do a factory reset on my phone, then I will not be able to download these paid for applications again. What's the deal here? A friend of mine who also did the firmware update is in the same boat. Since I do have applications out there that people are buying, I am now unable to view comments for those since I cannot see them on the Market. What's the solution to this? Should I contact HTC as well?
View 22 Replies View RelatedSo, as you all probably know by now i'm new. and i'm completely new to the android world. I have been a blackberry user for a very long time.
2 days ago I got an android (htc hero) and I would love it if anyone could give me some basics or someplace to go so I can get the hang of things.
I'd like to know about how to use/get themes, apps that are a must, if I should update my firmware, etc etc. If anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction, please do so.
Does anyone have an idea what the difference is between the Firmware Update - 1.47.651.1 (21.43 MB) and the HTC software update 1.32.651.6 (13.14MB) is? My phone prompted me to do the Firmware update this afternoon and it worked great. I checked my wifes EVO this evening and noticed she still had the older software version 1.32.651.1.When I checked for a Firmware Update nothing is available for her phone. However, if I check for the HTC software Update it shows 1.32.651.1 is available for download. This isn't the same version I was prompted to download this afeternoon.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post and I am new to Android so excuse my ignorance if this is well documented and common knowledge. I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
So after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.
