Ok, after reading lots of threads im a bit confused!!
I have a htc on orange and need it unlocking, the codes didn't work, so it seems changing the software on it is what i need to do..
can anybody send any links to instructions of exactly what to do using what software etc?

I am planning to buy an unlock code for my HTC Aria and SIM unlock it.
After unlocking it, if i root the device OR if i install a custom ROM OR If i install the new Froyo (When AT&T releases it)
Under these circumstances or any other circumstances, does the unlock revert back and make the phone locked again?
is it possible to unlock samsung galaxy s plus (i9001) by installing any of the moded firmwares/kernels?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an xperia X8 with some naa kernel and xperiadroidx 6.1.The thing is that with this custom kernel and ROM when i put a SIM from another network carrier, the question asking for the SIM-unlock code input is not showing up. (this appeared before when phone was in stock state).Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?
...or i have to put back the phone to stock? What is the easiest/safest/best way to do this? using the restore option in "PC companion" SE app? Is it only needed to put the stock kernel and ROM, or Do i also need to re-lock the bootloader?
I don't need the whole explanation, just a little guidance, just a few tips to know what to do, then i can google/search myself for the specifics on how to actually do it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I let my phone sleep long enough to go into a "deep sleep" it is very slow after I unlock it. For example, my phone has been in my pocket for a half of an hour and then I get a new text message. I turn on the screen, and slide to unlock, but I can't pull down the notification bar for about 10 seconds or so, I have to wait for the analog clock to set the right time (which it lags through) and then it's fine after that. I don't have this problem if I lock it then unlock it right away.

Unfortunately it appears to be running a somewhat crippled version of the languages. My wife is Italian and frequently texts in Italian but unfortunately there is no Italian language support, only English, Dutch and Czech which seems strange. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to download or unlock Italian without rooting the phone? Would predictive text work and would I only be able to change the text language and not the whole phone language?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using CM6 and it had an option that i could unlock the phone by double pressing the menu button or by pressing the trackball. Now I am back to Darchdroid v2.8 because i like it way better than froyo, but the only way to unlock the phone is by sliding the screen icon. Is there a way to re-enable that menu/trackball way of unlocking the phone? I am using launcherpro 8.1 as home screen, not sure if that makes a difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple of times today I have taken the Hero out of my pocket to find that it is unlocked and doing something (first time it tried to send an SMS to a black number and then it had loaded the browser) which is weird because I didn't think it would be able to use the touch screen while in my pocket.I'm guessing that it managed to unlock itself by pressing the menu button twice while in my pocket, but this does seem unlikely - anyway I activated the unlock pattern and it hasn't done it since, so my question is it possible to disable the ability to double-press menu to unlock it? (It's rooted if that makes it possible).It's always possible that I just didn't lock the phone either of those times, but that seems more unlikely. Has anyone else noticed this problem?
View 33 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to portrait to landscape it will stay on portrait then after I mean like 20 mins or so when I go to use it, it will go to landscape and portrait. Then after another while it will stay on portrait and not go to landscape. I've tried everything and tried to find a solution for this but don't seem to find one. I just got the phone on saturday and been playing with for awhile to get the feel of it.

I use my phone in my left hand so it would be much more handy to use the phone if I could change the direction of the arrow. Currently the arrow goes from bottom left side of screen to the middle right side and this causes me to have to use both hands to use the phone even to do the simplest of tasks.
I want to be able to have the unlock arrow go from the bottom right side of the screen to the middle left side. This option would be a more normal flowing one handed function for me.
Is there an option for this? I have tried to find it and can not see it anywhere. I sure hope this can be changed because this is becoming very anoying. I like the swoop idea and think it could be handy and better than my old iPhone option but I need the direction change.
I have been struggling for nearly 8 weeks (since Christmas Day) to try and get my Orange Hero unlocked (without rooting it). Orange insisted i had to be a customer for 3 months before they would give me a code but still would not refund the 20 they originally took for the code. So now i am trying to spread the word that it can be done pretty quickly for less than 10. Always a good idea to have HTC Sync (you can get this on the HTC website).

I have rooted the device, did a backup, and can enter recovery mode.
I have also done MoDaCo unlocked SPL here
I also downloaded some untouched ROMs here but when I run the EXE I get a USB connection error.
Is my device now hard SPL (ala in WM where I can flash any ROM)?
I've flashed SenseHero 2.1 & 2.2 over the last week or so, and as soon as SenseEspresso is ready I'm going to flash that one too. My question is, is there a quick way to get your phone back to the way you like it? I currently use mybackup pro & Titanium backup, and it takes me a fair chunk of time to reinstall all my apps and set up my homescreens.Any suggestions? What do y'all do?

Whenever i get a notification my track ball flashes, and wont stop flashing after i check the notification, until i put the phone to sleep. I am using handcent, and in the notification settings i cant access the trackball flashing setting, its dark and unable to be clicked.
