View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an xperia X8 with some naa kernel and xperiadroidx 6.1.The thing is that with this custom kernel and ROM when i put a SIM from another network carrier, the question asking for the SIM-unlock code input is not showing up. (this appeared before when phone was in stock state). Is it possible to do it without re-flashing to stock?
...or i have to put back the phone to stock? What is the easiest/safest/best way to do this? using the restore option in "PC companion" SE app? Is it only needed to put the stock kernel and ROM, or Do i also need to re-lock the bootloader?
I don't need the whole explanation, just a little guidance, just a few tips to know what to do, then i can google/search myself for the specifics on how to actually do it.
I recently tried to unlock the bootloader for my XPERIA ION and I think I managed to do it. It rebooted in a "new" state so everything I had was gone. Not sure if that's what's supposed to happen?
Well, then I tried to root with the "bin4ryv18" runme.bat. It goes fine until it keeps on running ,so something went wrong... Also when using another program, it says it "failed on data/local/tmp permission denied". I don't know how I should continue from here? I'm quite a noob when it comes to this. Do I flash something first ?
i have rooted my xperia u with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v using this " [URL] thread. now i want to unlock my bootloader.

I want flash this kernel. I think I can't unlock my bootloader...
I followed this guide to unlock the bootloader, using FlashTool or msm7227_omniusSL.cmd. Both processes complete without errors... But when I check with s1tool, the erom version has an uppercase "R".
When I try to flash, FlashTool throws the error:
Code:

Here are my s1tool and FlashTool logs:

I did a research regarding Flashing Kernels and Roms and currently i have installed Cyanogen 9.1 for my device.
1.Will I be able to update my phone and bring back to old ICS firmware via SUS once i brick my phone(I have already unlocked the bootloader via fastboot method)?
2.Evrytime when i flash the Rom(say CM9) i used to flash kernal(boot.img) for the respective rom.Is this necessary all the time? Will i able to flash a GB rom on ICS kernal(I am afraid to give it a test)?
3.Regarding CM9.1 which i have installed ryt now,I am satisfied with the performance, but i want a stable ROM wud make me happy with a better battery life unlike CM9.1. Any GB/ICS ROM which wud have a stable performance with descent battery life.
4.After using GB for a long time,i was very much addicted with the Phone pad kinda keyboard, but when ICS came into picture everything vanished,Smartkeyboard Pro is no gud,Touchpal is conjusted,i want the exact GB keyboard in ICS.

how to root my Sony Xperia S without unlocked bootloader?
i found many thread on here but i can't understand it at all. my xperia s is on android version 4.0.4 now... 6.1.A.0.452
I own a Sony Xperia ZL and running firmware C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101 (I hope this is the right one, I'am still a newbie about this), unrooted and bootloader locked. A few days ago, I got a bootloop on my device, and after searching the solutions they told me to flashing it. Then I just flashing it, and to be honest this is my first time flashing and I don't know any effect of this.
After successfully flashing, I lost all my internal data
But luckily , I don't know why but my device auto download all of my apps and also recover my contact automatically. I also got my WA messages because still have my back up on micro SD.
But not about the SMS, not even a single SMS appear. I already try Dr.Fone for Android software and use deep scan, but the software found nothing. How to recover my SMS.
I have been reading up alot recently about rooting and flashing my phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray) as currently my carrier (O2) is not releasing ICS for updates as they have not "tested" it sufficiently on my particular device (this was there explanation to me via email).
I have looked on the official sony ericsson website trying to find a way to update my phone and found that the method there required my phone to have "S-Off" but unfortunatly my phone is "S-On" (im assuming due to it being locked to O2 although it is a pay as you go model).
I have read conflicting opinions on whether you can root and flash your phone in my situation and was just wondering (before i tried anything at all) need to clarify if it would be possible to update my phone to ICS.
I have LK bootloader source code which I need to build and flash to a Nexus 5 device.
* I got the source code from the Code Aurora website
* I made a guess which branch is the stable branch I need, because I found no mention of it anywhere (I took "kk_2.7-stable", where kk means kitkat)
* On a Debian 7 stable machine, I installed a GCC cross compiler from Deb packages built using Emdebian tools
* I made a guess which target to compile, because the exact chip name didn't have its own: I use msm8960
* I created some symlinks to the cross-building tools because the makefile and the debian cross-building tool names are different
* I ran 'make msm8960' and the build was successful (I also tried earlier with NDK prebuilt GCC but it failed)
* I got a bunch of files with no idea what to do with them
* I attached the device to the computer and re-flashed the stock bootloader to make sure it works
* I checked the fastboot screen: Bootloader unlocked, secure boot is on
* I tried flashing the 'lk' binary file I got from the build process, but fastboot says:
sending 'bootloader' (1702 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.239s]
writing 'bootloader'...
FAILED (remote: invalid bootloader image
)
The size of the file is much smaller than the size of the stock bootloader, but I don't know if it matters or what exactly I need to flash. I did a lot of web search, including here on XDA, but found no evidence of struggling with flashing the bootloader.
How do I flash the bootloader after I build it?
How to unlock my Sony xperia s which is locked for 3 ?? I searched all the web and all I found is how to unlock the bootloader or some codes.

So when updating my phone, I was all like 'I know how this show goes' and like an IDIOT I put my Samsung S2 i9100 kernel file on the bootloader spot and it boots to a black screen. I can still put it in download mode, and tried to install it the correct way but that doesn't matter.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been following the instructions on the HTCdev website for unlocking the bootloader on my HTC sensation XE. Ive made it to the last step and acquired the unlock code from HTC. I then copied that to my computer and followed the last step "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" but I get an error message in the CMD promt "remote: unlock token check failed"
I have made sure that the .bin file is in the correct directory (c:Android).I have USB debugging enabled and fastboot disabled.
i recently broke my last phone, so i had it replaced and this one is running 2.3.6, i tried using that black white screen (cmd?) with the options ex:
1. unlock root etc.
2. CWM install/root etc etc. x. debugging etc
but no luck. When i reach the rsd lite portion of the first section, my phone just boots up into the os and rsd lite gets cancelled. ( i chose 2.3.4)when i first got it, i could do everything fine, but i couldn't boot after installing 3 different roms. but when i install clean software it works just as it should
I successfully unlocked the bootloader on my xperia x8 via flashtool put on custom kernel nAa 14 and miniCM7 Yay.Everything is fine apart that I want to change network because they have much better deals etc.I went to the 3 network shop and tried to put in the Sim, it took it in loaded but wouldnt register with the network , in fact I tried last week when I was on stock kernel and gingerxperia and it asked for ''unlock code'', today it didn't ask for unlock code took it in but wont register.I guess there must be some sim lock or something.
Maybe it is unlocked but something to do with Radio pehaps nonetheless my current Network works fine.here's my S1 LOG if any good. after unlocking BL of course

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy original concern is too get rid of the android software originally put on my htc wildfire by my phone operator. Important precision: I have a mac computer.
For this i figured out i had to unroot the phone or unlock the bootloader (am I right? My overall android level is not good).
So I tried unrevoked, which said that my "hardware is too new". Then I tried to unlock my bootloader following the instructions on htcdev (and other similar forum topics) but I got an error message "Command error" when I type "fastboot oem unlock" or "fastboot oem get_identifier_token", and nothing happens.
I then noticed that htc says I might have to update my hboot (I currently have 1.02.0002), but how.
I tried any other stuff found on forums such as factory reset (*sigh*), changing usb cable, changing usb port, trying from another computer (still a mac), etc...
I saw threads such as "use a gold card", but it seems complicated and I don't have a pc anyway.
how to unlock boot loader, root and s-off my HTC one mini. I bought the phone in november so im assuming that i updated to 4.3 or it was already installed (relevant later). I htcdev unlocked my boot loader, installed twrp and made a backup, installed superuser and rooted my phone. Then I installed titanium backup pro, made a backup and uninstalled all the system apps/bloatware I didn't need. All was peachy but the apps kept reappearing which I found was down to s-on (despite what I read about htcdev unlock boot loader method making my phone s-off) . So I tried the revone method and got error 1 which apparently is down to having android 4.3 so I looked for an earlier ROM and flashed Magio r1 which worked fine but couldn't find the data/local/temp folder to install revone into. Probably could of put it somewhere else but I wasn't that confident with the s-off process. So I finally found Jmz m4 stock ROM so there was light at end of tunnel. So I read up on twrp factory reset/format data functions and saw people were using both methods. I went with the full format and factory reset afterwards. Looking back now that was pretty stupid as I have no ROM and no backups to restore to. I did manage to chmod 777 the permissions on my twrp backups and copy the to dropbox (after endless scouring of forums). I also know how to flash boot images and use the adb side load functions. I can't adb push the file as it returns with error closed, I've tried the following commands:
adb device - my device is attached and side loading.
adb usb - returns error closed
adb kill-server
adb start server - server starts successfully then returns error closed.
adp push rom.zip /data/media/0 - returns error closed
And just to be sure I tried with /data/media/, same error..I've fastboot flashed the jmzM4 ROM image and kernel but no joy as I'm guessing the boot image isn't enough and you need the zip. Currently I can load into boot loader and recovery no problem, just freezes on HTC load screen in normal boot up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to unlock my HTC Acquire or HTC Kingdom bootloader by following HTCDEV instructions but I always get tot the part where it says "writing unlock key" or something along those lines, the phone freezes on this part and I have to wait until the battery dies or remove the battery. Why this is happening?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, my issue is that I simply cannot unlock the bootloader of my Nexus S (i9020T). The phone's connecting to my computer via Samsung Android ADB Interface as seen under the Device Manager. I see the proper device ID when I type "fastboot devices" into the adb command prompt. Then, when I type "fastboot oem unlock" the phone starts the unlock verification process -- I select yes, the phone restarts, but it goes back to the stuck Google screen. Then, if I pull the battery and go into fastboot mode directly, bootloader's still locked. I've tried this quite a few times and same result -- same result trying to unlock w/ toolkits like WugFresh's NRT.
I've also tried to solve it w/ all versions of Odin. None of them detect my phone even after installing Kies w/ drivers. I think I have the required drivers though since I can command the phone fine through adb. And Odin should need bootloader unlocked to work anyway so it won't work if bootloader cannot unlock.... I've even tried a few other things like pushing recovery and bootloader images onto the phone via adb, but these also failed due to the locked bootloader. All options seem to require an unlocked bootloader.
I also cannot enable USB debugging under phone settings either b/c I now can't get past the Google logo/fastboot mode menu. I don't think this is required to unlock bootloader through adb though.
Background: Phone had the latest auto updated version of Android when the phone all of a sudden turned off in the middle of the night recently. Weird b/c the battery was basically full. It now always gets stuck on the Google logo upon normal restart. It goes into fastboot mode OK if I remove the battery and press power/vol. buttons -- I then first tried the restore and recovery functions there, etc, but no effect.
To add, one of the first things I tried was to do a manual factory data reset in the recovery menu (selecting 'yes' to erase all data).
And I tried adb sideload of the OTA .zip file. But installation was aborted. The following appeared immediately under the regular adb sideload instruction in the system recovery menu (under "Now send the package you want to apply to the device..."):
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory
Installation aborted.
