Just got my hero couple of days ago. I've linked my google contact with facebook, but sometimes it just reset somehow and I've linked it twice now, really annoying, cause it takes loads of times.

Since I updated to 2.1, I am not able to link my contacts to my Facebook friends. I am signed in to Facebook through "Facebook for HTC Sense" (when I click "Add Account" and choose "Facebook," it won't do anything) but when I go to a contact and try to link to a friend, there is no one on the list. I have tried logging out and back in, then restarting the phone, but that hasn't fixed the problem. Also, is anyone else having the keyboard refuse to work when trying to send a text?

1) why can't I link my contacts with facebook? I'm not talking about syncing them I'm talking about linking them so that their profile pics come up on under "people" on my phone, every other ROM I've used does this just fine but Zen does not for some reason.
2) Do I need an app from the market to see how fast my processor is running? I've seen where some people have run into troubles of having their processor redlined all the time

Is there a way to update the People/Contacts account with the Facebook contacts automatically (where the names or email match, obviously)? Kind of like how the Palm Pre does this?

Is there any way to link all my contacts to FB at once vs having to go into each one manually and selecting "Link", then selecting the "suggested FB profile"? I can do it manually, but I'm sure my battery will be dead by the time I'm done.

Otherwise, the contact on my phone from Facebook may be, and in many cases is, missing lots of relevant information. For example, many people don't keep their full address, or their phone number, on Facebook. If this is so, then no phone number or address is stored on my phone for the many friends who got in my contact list via the Facebook Motoblur magic. I can update these manually, via the phone screen-keyboard, but I would like to use the much easier-to-access PC to gmail user interface. But alas, I cannot, as all of these Facebook contacts don't show up on the gmail list at all.

For instance if you add someone as a friend on facebook and they have their email and phone number filled out in their profile, that information would automatically be added to your phone. The picture would show up but their statuses wouldn't update. And now the picture doesn't show up on a contact, it's not linked with Facebook anymore and when I try to link it says I have no friends..?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend got herself a new HTC Aria a few days ago and the thing won't let her link her contacts to their Facebook profiles. All the contacts are stored on her phone, not the SIM has 2.1 stock. You type in the person's name after tapping the 'link profile' button or whatever it says, and no profiles show up in the search box. I noticed that a similar post in the HTC Hero forum, but no one seemed to have any luck over there. And yes, I've gone into the settings and enabled everything that I know to enable regarding syncing, facebooking, and anything else along on those lines.

I have an HTC EVO now, but I'm switching over to Verizon soon and was looking into either the Droid X, Droid 2, Fascinate, or Incredible. I was curious, can you link your contacts to people's Facebook pages like HTC can? The thing I like most is having their profile picture show when they call, rather than the standard Android logo. If someone can answer as soon as they can, that will be great seeing I will be picking up one of these phones tomorrow!

I just got a new incredible last week, and have already been using a Google Contacts account for some time. When entering a new contact on an iPhone, the info is automatically synced with Google contacts, and vice versa. My Google contacts automatically appear in my phone directory, but how can I get new contacts entered thru my phone synced to my google account, without having to manually select 'contact type' when entering the info?

I opened the FB app from my Rezound (ICS) and looked at the settings. The "Sync Contacts" option is set to "Don't sync"
Then I looked in the Android Settings --->Accounts&sync--->facebook where there are three boxes, sync calendar, sync contacts, and sync live feed. I made sure all those boxes are unchecked.
I figured I'd just try deleting FB from my Rezound but it seems to be undeletable if that's a word. It's like standard bloatware that I actually use on occasion.
So why are my FB contacts still merged with my Google contacts? I am seeing my contacts with their FB photo and this drives me crazy. I don't want FB communicating with my address book. Gingerbread didn't do this.

At first empty ad card was working hood then when I used up a few gb and re inserted the sd card the problem began After 5-10 seconds of mounting sd it goes out and phone shows that sd is removed unexpectedly, sometimes my phone hangs in this cycle and reboots(starts again from bootanimation part) This sd works fine with other things like my Sony cybershot w-x50

I have synced all my Facebook contacts' birthdays with my Google contacts using Uber Facebook sync (or some other totally rad hipster name) - although they are not visible anywhere (is this even possible?).
Any easily maintainable way to receive birthday reminders? I don't want to manually create events annually.
I wanted to change the Google account that my phone was linked to, so I cleared the google app. Now when I try to sign in using my google account to link the phone with the phone (the new one or the old one) it asks for my login info, then says Signing in and says it may take up to 5 minutes. Then it gives me a message that says: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." I have called customer care and they can't figure it out. They told me I need to go to a Sprint Store that does service, but there isn't one very close to me, so I'd rather not take half a day to drive there if I don't have to.
I have full bars and everything else works great. I can get my email, use the internet and do everything else that doesn't require the use of the google account. But I can't use the google mail feature or go to the Marketplace. I'm using 1.56.651.2 and haven't really done anything else to the phone as far as changing settings or rooting or anything.
Is there a way to link an address in the calendar to Google Maps? I type an address in the "Where" field in the calendar entry and want to tap it to open Google maps.
