I wanted to put my own ringtones on my phone so I used Ringdroid do do so and this worked fine for the incoming calls tone. However when i added one for my notifications, it wont play for sms messages, It does play for the like of recieved emails and such though. The tone is listed as my default notification tone so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.

I can see the option for Notifications and Ringtones but neither of these change the text message received tone. Where is the option and can I use MP3/Ringdroid files?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that once I have sent a text I am not getting any tone to let me know that the text has been delivered which is rather annoying as I have to keep on long pressing the text I have sent to "view report". I am getting the Notification tone Hours later after the text has got to the person I sent it to. On all my other phones (I am on 3 Mobile) the tone is straight away once the text gets to the other person.

In fact, no matter what I select for a notification tone, I always get the same little chime. Isn't this configurable? If so, why will it not use the tone that I have designated for "Notifications"?

I have learned many many great things about the EVO from mostly everyone here on the board but one thing I cannot seem to find is how to have your messages, (texts, emails, ect.) ring longer than only 1 time! I have my phone on silent/vibrate when I'm at work, and I have sometimes found that a text comes in while I'm away from my desk and I don't discover this until later. Or even when I've got the sound switched on I don't always notice it if I'm in a noisy environment, or maybe I don't feel the vibration in my pocket. My previous phones have always produced the alert tone/vibration every few minutes until I read the message. Can this be done with the Desire, and how?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I get a text message, my phone alerts me twice. I do have handcent, and I did disable the notifications on the stock text messaging app and it still did this. Then, I uninstalled handcent from my phone thinking maybe I can reinstall it and it would stop notifying me twice; which didn't work. So now I just have the stock messaging app and it's still notifying me twice every time I get a single text message. Any thoughts? It's driving me insane.

Have just got my new X10 - all OK except one thing that is frustrating. Is there any way I can get sms text message tone to repeat if I miss one. With other phones, if an sms is not read it repeats the sms tone every minute or so to remind you there is one waiting to be read - cant see any way of doing this on the X10 - anybody know if this is possible and I am just missing it, or is there an app that does it?

It cannot be changed through notification ringtone menu; all that succeeds in doing is changing tone for other notifications like email etc. Have tried to select other notification tones, but it is the "tada" tone that always comes up when SMS is received. View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive a text message while on an active call, it plays the message tone at full volume - making it rather hard to hear the other person! Granted, this only happens occasionally ... but when it does it can be quite annoying. I've searched other threads and had a (what I consider to be ) a thorough look through the phones' settings, but I can't seem to find a way to stop it. Is this just an omission on the developers behalf? Or is there something I could change?
