View 1 RepliesIs it possible to change this? It cannot be changed through notification ringtone menu; all that succeeds in doing is changing tone for other notifications like email etc. Have tried to select other notification tones, but it is the "tada" tone that always comes up when SMS is received. Can the tone for receiving SMS be changed, and if so, how?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhenever I get a text message I always get a subtle little chime on my phone. But it is not the notification tone that I setup under "Settings". In fact, no matter what I select for a notification tone, I always get the same little chime. Isn't this configurable? If so, why will it not use the tone that I have designated for "Notifications"?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I copy notification tone into sys file? I have downloaded a notification tone that I wish to use for incoming text, in the notification tones there are a selection of tones but I would like to add this one to the list. I've tried moving the file using the move command and also tried with the copy and paste function with Astro file manager but I cannot move or paste when I navigate to the sys/media/notification folder as these options are greyed out?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded on the computer and put it as a notification tone. Problem is that it's not that loud. If anyone out there know a downloadable link for a good one please post it. Moderators I don't know if u want to make a sticky for post about finding wallpapers, ringtones and downloadable stuff but it'll help rather than having a bunch of noob androids like myself posting new topics everyday. Just a thought.

What I really want is a (configurable) notification sound for Text messages, and different sound for gmail/email, and be able to turn all independently on/off. I found the Generic Email (Menu->Account Settings->EmailNotifications) which can turn this on/off, but not configure the sound. Quite happy with the default, installed Text app so can this be done without having to install other apps, if not, which apps will allow me to to do this. Same was kinda asked in this thread, but no responses. http://androidforums.com/support/769-silencing-new-email-notification-but-not-text-gchat.html
Are there any themes available that change the default android 1.6 lock screen ? If so, what are they and how can I install them? I see the tutorial on how to install Galaxo, but nothing on them.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been lurking here for awhile and I came from a bb curve so all of this is new to me. I have learned many many great things about the EVO from mostly everyone here on the board but one thing I cannot seem to find is how to have your messages, (texts, emails, ect.) ring longer than only 1 time! Am I missing a setting somewhere or is this typical on android devices?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to the HTC Hero. I would like to use my own MP3 for a tone when I receive a text. I have tried doing this by putting th efile on my SD card and setting it that way when it is in a specific folder but I still get the HTC Hero default text tone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan anybody tell me if you can set up a new message tone and if so how to do it? I have an HTC hero.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, having lost my beloved G1 and having been told by my insurance that it was discontinued, I received an HTC Hero/G2 Touch in the post this morning, and I'm having serious issues with getting my custom notification tone to work.
I have placed the desired .mp3 file in media->audio->notifications, and it does indeed show up on my notification list in the settings menu. I have selected it, and it displays a lovely little green dot by its name.
HOWEVER. Every time I get a text, it still plays the stupid default tone. I've powered the phone on and off multiple times, deleted and re-copied the file, and yes, even tried applying it using the much-applauded Ringdroid app. The results are always the same. I can get it to show up. I can select it. I can, by all appearances, get it to set as my notification tone. But I can't make it sing "HAHAHAHA TRUMPETS" on cue as desired. I had no issue getting this same file to work on my G1 and am at a complete and utter loss.
I have downloaded three ringtones and none of them currently play what they are supposed to. They play a default tone whether they are set as the ringer or if they are selected directly from the ringtone list.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have no problem setting custom ringtones and notifications but how do I do the same for text msg's received I can choose from a list of stock ones on the Device but wanna use my own is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Desire for just over a month now and still haven't worked out how to get the text message alert to repeat. I have my phone on silent/vibrate when I'm at work, and I have sometimes found that a text comes in while I'm away from my desk and I don't discover this until later. Or even when I've got the sound switched on I don't always notice it if I'm in a noisy environment, or maybe I don't feel the vibration in my pocket. My previous phones have always produced the alert tone/vibration every few minutes until I read the message. Can this be done with the Desire, and how?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I get a text message, my phone alerts me twice. I do have handcent, and I did disable the notifications on the stock text messaging app and it still did this. Then, I uninstalled handcent from my phone thinking maybe I can reinstall it and it would stop notifying me twice; which didn't work. So now I just have the stock messaging app and it's still notifying me twice every time I get a single text message. Any thoughts? It's driving me insane.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to have one of my mp3 songs as a message tone how do i do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just wandering if there is a way to stop the notification tone from playing after I send a message?
Running android 2.1.
I have noticed that once I have sent a text I am not getting any tone to let me know that the text has been delivered which is rather annoying as I have to keep on long pressing the text I have sent to "view report". I am getting the Notification tone Hours later after the text has got to the person I sent it to. On all my other phones (I am on 3 Mobile) the tone is straight away once the text gets to the other person.
