HTC Hero :: Any Way To Use Search Button In Dolphin Browser
Jan 23, 2010Is there any way to use the heros search button to perform a google search in dolphin browser? It's a big drawback at the moment.

Feb 22, 2010Installed Dolphin Browser on My Hero. All fine until today. Now when I search for anything using Google Search, (which is the homepage), it returns me to the Homepage with no results!

Sep 29, 2010Currently using Dolphin HD on my desire. When using the soft search button is there anyway of changing it to search via Google.co.UK and not Google.com. Its really annoying when your search results are all for American sites. The stock desire browser uses co.UK but I much prefer Dolphin HD.

Aug 15, 2010When I am browsing this forum on Dolphin HD and I click in the search button at the top right it will bring down a new menu, when I click in the text area, the keyboard will pop up but then disappear along with the menu. I basically can't search on the phone.

May 27, 2010I have noticed when I visit a website on this browser it renders the page very small. I compared it side by side with the regular Dolphin browser that renders pages in normal size. Of course I can pinch zoom but its annoying to have to do that on the hd version,.. am I missing something maybe? Also I cant find youtube on the hd version...

Whether I use the multitouch pinch-zoom, or the actually zoom buttons on the bottom of the screen, its laggy. Am I doing something wrong? The pinch-zoom is way laggier than the pinch-zoom on the stock browser...

I've tried pdf, mp3, and gif all from different sites and every time it just says "download unsuccessful." May 1, 2010I like to download podcasts to my hero which can take a while because they're pretty big files. If I get an email or text while downloading it pauses my download and says waiting for data connection. The same thing happens sometimes when it bounces from WiFi to Ev. The only way I can get it to start downloading again is to start another download. This is annoying so does anyone know a better way to resume a download or is there some setting I can change?

Feb 1, 2010After I rooted phone I deleted apps I did not think I would use including the browser. I did not however think all the way through the process and of course now the search key does not work. I like using that key for work.
Can someone help me re-install? I asume all I need is the apk file?
HTC Hero :: Changing Search Button Default Settings
Mar 10, 2010I Just installed the Dolphin browser instead of Steel as I was using before. So uninstalled Steel, but have a little problem now. When I press the search button on my home screen and search for anything, it opens the default browser and searches, and not Dolphin. How do I change this? Thought it would ask for which app it needed to execute the order with, as it did at other places it would go online, but not here. Has been in the manage applications and delete the default browser to be default, and inside settings in the dolphin browser and the check it to be default, but it does not work.

Dec 19, 2009Since I've set Dolphin as my default browser, when I click on a link to search for an app in the market I get a not found error. For instance, there is a link in Documents to Go (the paid key file) that is supposed to take you to the market to download the actual Documents to Go apps when I click on that link it opens the Dolphin browser and then there is a not found error. Before I set Dolphin as the default those types of links would open the market place to the application.

Sep 8, 2010Sometimes I wish I was Dr Frankenstein and could take the parts I like from all 5 major browsers and put them together into one SUPER-browser.
1. Stock Browser (full-featured but slow)
2. Dolphin HD (medium quick but weird bookmarking scheme)
3. Opera Mini (fast and great bookmarks, but no pinch-to-zoom)
4. Skyfire (all round probably best one, but slower than xscope)
5. xScope (very fast and light but lousy bookmarking and no copy text)
Anyway, I was giving Dolphin HD a shot because I like the way you can drag your bookmarks out from the left side. I actually like to have my bookmarks alphabetized (I know, NUTS, right?), but apparently Dolphin sees no need for this as they don't have any option to sort your bookmarks by any metric other than to drag each one by hand - a rough task if you have 200 bookmarks.
Dolphin does have this "Bookmarks to SD" add-on that will allow you to export your stock browser (universal) bookmarks to an html file, then import them back into Dolphin. Unfortunately, it somehow reverses the order of my A-Z alphabetized universal bookmarks so that they are Z-A in Dolphin.

Suppose you leave dolphin open on a simple page while you are reading he is continuously using your system even if you don't need...It's really heavy specially for the battery.
The layout and options as auto Fullscreen are amazing but i would like it working as the stock browser without connecting in the background with the dolphin server without permission...
