Jul 19, 2010I know there are many threads on this already, and I apologize for creating yet another one, but I can't seem to find a clear answer on how to do this. I've already tried the method described in the "Guide from stock 1.5 to the latest root 2.1 thread" and that method failed. Here is the situation, I'm having an issue with my phone that is basically making it unusable, see this thread: Phone stuck in headset mode. This is my 2nd eris after having it replaced once already, and I'm going to try and use this problem as an excuse to complain my way to an upgrade. But before I go into Verizon I need to unroot my phone. I currently have a rooted v of 2.1, I'm not sure what is is called but I think it's basically a rooted version of the official OTA. I am not on Leaked.
Now after the OTA I don't know if 100% stock means 1.5 or 2.1 but basically I need it so Verizon can't see that I've voided my warranty. I am looking for an idiots guide to going back to 100% stock. I've found a few threads on this but I am not tech savy enough to understand the technically discussion to know if these methods will even work for me. I'm looking for a easy to follow guide back to stock that is written so that even an 8 year old can follow it. And I'm not talking about one of those freaky computer genius 8 year old, I'm talking about the kind of 8 year old that picks his nose and eats paste, the one who is a little bit slow. You know who I'm talking about we all went to school with at least one kid like that.
HTC Droid Eris :: Lost My Boot Animation / Way To Get Stock Back?
Aug 5, 2010I rooted recently with the evil eris 4.0 running, and used this app Boot Animation Changer and it worked alright but I think I might of did a backup of one of the animations and overwritten over the stock, so stock isn't there. How can I get the stock back?I dont know what to do.

Sep 9, 2010Want to preface this by saying I just had a HUGE thread ready to go with detailed step by step of what I did and it just got deleted while I was hitting submit somehow. After wasting many hours this evening, I'll start over, again. So I wanted to Partition my SD card back to 0, 0 so I could flash KF V32. I backed up my SD to my laptop, wiped Partition, changed to double zero and moved everything back over. I factory/davelk wipe and after about an hour, I finally am ready to flash V32. I go to flash from my SD card and it says "F: File is Empty". I quickly realized what I had done wrong. I dragged the entire folder I created from my laptop onto my SD instead of dragging individually. Rookie mistake. Another hour passes and I'm so ready to flash my 1st Froyo ROM and 2nd ROM ever. I select KF V32 from my SD, click trackball to confirm and "File is Bad" pops up 2 seconds later. I decide to restore my newest Nand that I had made last night because I knew I'd be flashing this evening. I select it, its runs and I reboot. 20 minutes later, xtrCUSTOM pops up on the home screen and I realize that this is the stock xtrSENSE 4.0.6.1, not the Nand I restored. I immediately D/L'd Astro to see what was on my SD card and EVERYTHING was there. My nands, D/L's, settings, etc. My Titanium Backup I just D/L'd last night in preparitions for flashing V32 was there. My question to all the brilliant minds around this forum. WTF happened here? Did I do something wrong?

May 5, 2010So as the title states, I'm an idiot and delted everything off of my SD card. The idiot part comes from me getting all gitty about the 2.1 v3 update, not thinking about the pictures and videos that I didn't back up (my music and ROMs already were backed up) and deleting my SD card purposely to get rid of all the old, unneccesary files and folders. Anyways, is there anyway to get these old files back? I've seen another post about a file recovery program but it wasn't very specific.

Jan 16, 2010I had mounted my sd card to transfer files between pc (XP) and eris.
i correctly unmounted from pc (safely remove hardware) and then stopped file sharing on eris.
i took the card out and put in a different one (i don't have a card reader and was trying to transfer some stuff).
when i tried to put the original card back in, my finger slipped as i was pushing it in and it got like halfway in and then popped back out.
the eris saw this as an unsafe removal.
now, it keeps telling me "the sd card is blank or using an unsupported .." something. if i tap on the notification, it just takes to me a window to format it. i keep saying yes to format, but it never formats.
i've tried formatting from settings and tried mounting it again and formatting from the pc. when i do that, the pc says that the drive size is 1.08 TB (?!?!?). this is the 8GB sd card that comes with the eris. and it also won't let me format.
what gives? i've tried taking it out and putting it back in. it keeps saying unsafe removal but the option to unmount is grayed out and i can't choose it.
i tried taking it out, turning off the eris, putting the card in and turning back on. still nothing.
what's going on here?

Sep 15, 2010I recently rooted my phone and successfully flashed the CM6 ROM. I tried going back to sense (froyo 2.2) for 4G, and I believe my backup was corrupted or I did not back up correctly. What is the best way (if possible) to revert my phone back to the way it was? I would eventually like to get to the point where I could go back and forth when I wanted using ROM manager.

Jul 31, 2010I've tried the leaked 2.2 and the OTA. One of the two is destroying my 3g reception. I'm getting only location services in many places where I had 1x or 3g reception. May 21, 2010I'm so frustrated with MMS.I can't get them to send using Handcent or ChompSMS without numerous forwarding attempts. I can receive them immediately with no problems from other people even on differenct carriers, but they won't send.I finally got my SMS to stop crashing/force closing and deleting all my messages by uninstalling the Antivirus app. Im on day two (since the uninstall) without a force close.I had no problem sending MMS until I installed Handcent. I even uninstalled Handcent.Rebooted and re-installed. No outgoing MMS without 2 or 3 message forwards. I tried the Airplane Mode trick. No change. After uninstallling Handcent again, I chose ChompSMS to see if that works. Same thing.it's a no go for sending out. The stock messaging app is the only one that works, but it's so BORING.

Sep 5, 2010Recently started trying out ADW and LauncherPro, and the one thing Ive noticed is that when I add a widget/app to a page I can no longer seem to get it to fullscreen like it came stock.
On my sense layout, the calendar is a full page display of the month, whereas now when I try to add it it shows up as a small 2x2 notepad date that I have to click to get to the full month. Its the same with the stock music player. I small widget compared to the near fullscreen one Ive been used to.

Oct 24, 2010I used the link below and followed the directions, put the file at the root of my SD card, went into Hboot, a blue progress bar appears, after it ends, I get no prompt asking me to reboot or anything. My bootup is still UltimateDroid while I try to get to stock. Anyone know what to do?

And now I am trying to sell my droid on ebay (if anyone is interested let me know!), but whenever I used RomManager to revert back to stock image. I get an error and it fails. I have already ported my number over to my incredible, so I can only use wifi. So what other way is there to go back to stock so I can wipe the device and sell it. Or is there some other way that I am not thinking of? Something on the phone, like stock image I can flash through clockwork recovery and be done? (if so anyone have a link?)
