I used the link below and followed the directions, put the file at the root of my SD card, went into Hboot, a blue progress bar appears, after it ends, I get no prompt asking me to reboot or anything. My bootup is still UltimateDroid while I try to get to stock. Anyone know what to do?

I've tried the leaked 2.2 and the OTA. One of the two is destroying my 3g reception. I'm getting only location services in many places where I had 1x or 3g reception. In general its just a pain for me. I want to go back to 2.1. I have a backup but I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be breaking anything by flashing to it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm so frustrated with MMS.I can't get them to send using Handcent or ChompSMS without numerous forwarding attempts. I can receive them immediately with no problems from other people even on differenct carriers, but they won't send.I finally got my SMS to stop crashing/force closing and deleting all my messages by uninstalling the Antivirus app. Im on day two (since the uninstall) without a force close.I had no problem sending MMS until I installed Handcent. I even uninstalled Handcent.Rebooted and re-installed. No outgoing MMS without 2 or 3 message forwards. I tried the Airplane Mode trick. No change. After uninstallling Handcent again, I chose ChompSMS to see if that works. Same thing.it's a no go for sending out. The stock messaging app is the only one that works, but it's so BORING.

View 8 Replies View RelatedFinally couldn't take it any longer and installed the RUU then hours later I hear that the Official update.zip is slightly different with a change to gmail (and frankly, at this point, who knows what else.) Also I am seeing "make sure you have the correct "baseband"(?) So for me and I would imagine a few others. Can someone make this a nice clean and complete how to get from RUU to update.zip thread? I have seen a lot of bits and pieces of what it takes.

I was on rooted 2.1 and followed the steps of intalling the ota and then re-rooted and installed the leaked froyo.I tried most of the fixes, but would rather wait for the "real" Froyo OTA. My question is simple, do I have to remove the effects of the OTA (downgrade the hboot) before I re-flash to a stock 2.1 or will the 2.1 reflash take care of that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFormatted my SD card yesterday and was cleaning up the internal memory of music as well since I was having issues with duplicate playlists etc. Just recieved a call today and noticed it wasn't my normal ringtone. I go to contacts(any of them) and see there is only one option for a ringtone. So unless there is a virus on my phone, I've accidently deleted my stock ringtones. Anyway to get the rintone folder back on the phone short of doing a complete reinstall of the OS? Take it back. My ringtones are still on the phone on the internal memory. I can play them fine in Mixzing/stock player, but are not showing up when I click on contacts/ringtone etc..

Your phone has an internal cache where it stores this information. Sometimes this cache gets out of sync. You can delete this cache by looking for an application called "Media Store" (or similar) in "Settings->Applications->Manage Applications". You may have to press the menu button and change the filter to show all applications. Once you find "Media Store", open its options page and select "Clear Data". Then reboot the phone to force the cache to be rebuilt. Also, try searching your storage for *.m3u files, delete any of these files that are not in the "syncr" directory.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am a newcomer to Android having recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S I9000M (my first smartphone ever), marketed in Canada under the name Vibrant. It is running Android 2.1 and I have not yet rooted, unlocked or otherwise modified the phone.
I have downloaded and installed three browsers in addition to the stock Internet browser: Dolphin, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.
After installing Opera Mobile I started having the following annoying problem:
When I was in the stock browser, every time I clicked a link the "Complete action using" window would pop up prompting me to select which browser I want to use. The choices were: Dolphin, Internet and Opera Mini (curiously, no Opera Mobile). I would check the "Use by default for this action" box and proceed to click "Internet" (the stock browser), which should have made the stock browser my default one. However, next time I clicked a link it would happen all over again.
This happened only in the stock browser, never in Dolphin or one of the Operas.
It's like my Android kept forgetting my choice of default browser although in the settings for the stock browser it said it was default.
I also noticed that after the installation of Opera Mobile the delay between clicking a link in any browser and the browser's reaction became noticeably longer (up to a second).
I have been contemplating rooting my Evo for some time for the reasons mentioned in the title. I have read rave reviews for WiFi tethering all over this forum and will definitely take advantage of it. Secondly, I have heard that when the Evo is rooted you can create back up, with Nandroid or Titanium, and it is a ghost/clone of the entire phone (settings, apps, app data/pointers, etc.). I have had to replace my phone a few times now for factory defects and it has caused tremendous pain to lose some of the app data that I had stockpiled in the 3 months since my last replacement. In the event of having to replace my phone again after rooting it, would I just have to root the new Evo and flash the last back up and ROM (stock or not) that I was using?

Anyone else experienced a major drop in 3G signal as well as their cell signal in the past few days? I think it started monday on my phone and now its mostly running in 1X mode and dropping more calls than I have in the past two years. Not sure if its something with verizon, or maybe and app I updated. (My wifes phone is doing the same, but she also happened to update about a dozen apps on monday)

I tried going back to sense (froyo 2.2) for 4G, and I believe my backup was corrupted or I did not back up correctly. What is the best way (if possible) to revert my phone back to the way it was? I would eventually like to get to the point where I could go back and forth when I wanted using ROM manager.

View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently started trying out ADW and LauncherPro, and the one thing Ive noticed is that when I add a widget/app to a page I can no longer seem to get it to fullscreen like it came stock.
On my sense layout, the calendar is a full page display of the month, whereas now when I try to add it it shows up as a small 2x2 notepad date that I have to click to get to the full month. Its the same with the stock music player. I small widget compared to the near fullscreen one Ive been used to.
