This may be a stupid question but can you D/L themes and apply them using MetaMorph to any ROM? I see A LOT of cool themes that I'd like to start messing around with but I'm not sure if you need to be on a certain ROM or not. Also, how do you use MM to apply the themes?

I know there is already a Themes thread but most of them are for 2.0.1, Im running BB v9 and a mix of Smokedglassframe 2.1 and Flavored Ice. Here is what I have found so far. Smoked Glass Frame. MM Smoked Glass Framework for 2.1 - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum. Here is how you can go back to stock. ERE25 (2.1 "official rom) Stock theme and the Barfix is so you can see your clock. So you dont have to edit anything.

I'm not gonna go into detail on how to install them and all that, but basically you need to download MetaMorph from the market and then put any of the .zip's from the themes into the folder "Android Themes" on your sd card (MM will create it). If you have trouble getting MM to open then you may need to do some tricks, I will elaborate on them tomorrow when I have some time unless someone else here beats me to it. DarkDroid Special Edition 10K/24K Gold. If you find any other themes that are CONFIRMED to work on the Droid then please post them in here. If you have any other tips, tricks, or modifications then feel free to put them in here also.

(I am able to change the default theme by hardcoding in the code (styles.xml),but I need to know how we can we set themes dynamically. I saw the Android phone,but there is no Setting where we can set the Theme.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I rebooted the phone got stuck at the boot animation (Red Rage).I can even hear the notification for the SD card being mounted, and then the screen times out.I can push the standby button to get it to turn back on again and then it turns off after a few seconds, as if it is at the lock screen.It then just sits there, still at the boot animation and the touch screen does not respond.I've left it for up to 10 minutes like that and the phone isn't frozen or anything, but it's just stuck at the boot animation.I pulled the battery, went into CW Recovery and cleared the cache.Reboot again.This time it boots up Android OS just fine, but it's still the normal Cyanogenmod theme.Also, recently whenever I've restarted the phone, the live wallpaper has reset to the Nexus wallpaper that comes with Cyanogen and the dust theme. I have to keep switching it back to Nexusmod donate with the blue theme (my fav!). Wasn't sure if that might be related.

A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.

However, the ROMs like MIUI and ChameleonOS does it without a restart.
Even few Old ICS devices used to come prebundeled with 2-3 Themes with different wallpapers and launcher default widgets.
I'm trying to do something on the lines of above ROMs and have started checking their code. And found that the starting point is by appending an extra path with the AssetManager, but since they also do a lot of changes to other applications,
would be great if I can get some pointers on where to start, key things to do to get the ball rolling and if there is already some solution like this which I can add to my ROM

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just rooted yesterday using the EE3.0 rom. I'm trying to use Metamorph to apply a new lockscreen, the Vanilla one from here: [THEME] Vanilla Lockscreen NON-Transparent Background [UPDATED: 07/05/2010] - xda-developers
I was able to apply the rotary one here [THEME] Rotary Style Lockscreen for EE 3.0 or CE 1.1 [UPDATED: 06/08/2010] - xda-developers
However, I can't seem to change it to the first one, which is the one I really like. Metamorph goes through and applies the XML and apk, reboots, but always comes back to the rotary one.
Right now I am on WW 4.6 and am wanting to make the leap to Kaos v30, but I have some very important txt messages that I really need to bring over to Kaos. Is there any way of doing this?

Well I switch back b/t kaosfroyo and xtrsense a good bit, so I was wondering if there were any good themes for XTR sense? I couldn't find any but I may just be looking in the wrong place.

1 - Last night, I put a background app on my Eris and downloaded a couple. Got the message just fine that they were saved to my SD card.
2 - This question in two parts.
A - Where the heck are they? I went to look for them in the settings area, and I can't find them in any "gallery." What am I doing wrong?
B - Once "found," how do I save them to a gallery that I can use to change the lockscreen background?
Again, I can't do this on a PC and rooting is not an option for me (one, I really don't know much about it, and two, I think you lose Sense UI which I like and don't want to get rid of).locate any files on my SD card. As a matter of fact, the only option shown in my settings for the SD card is "Unmount SD card." The Format SD Card is greyed, so it's not letting me choose it even if I wanted to. Is this a setting somewhere else?
I have searched for this but didn't really find a clear answer. I am running BB Froyo 0.4---can themes be installed over other themes? IE- can I install blue energy over Xtheme? Is there a way to revert back to the generic BB with no theme or do I need to restore a backup to accomplish this?
