Aug 25, 2010Recently saw an HTC Sense theme for launcher pro on the xda developers site. Want to know how to apply the theme. Any suggestions?

Motorola Droid :: Unable To Apply Themes
Apr 1, 2010When I rebooted the phone got stuck at the boot animation (Red Rage).I can even hear the notification for the SD card being mounted, and then the screen times out.I can push the standby button to get it to turn back on again and then it turns off after a few seconds, as if it is at the lock screen.It then just sits there, still at the boot animation and the touch screen does not respond.I've left it for up to 10 minutes like that and the phone isn't frozen or anything, but it's just stuck at the boot animation.I pulled the battery, went into CW Recovery and cleared the cache.Reboot again.This time it boots up Android OS just fine, but it's still the normal Cyanogenmod theme.Also, recently whenever I've restarted the phone, the live wallpaper has reset to the Nexus wallpaper that comes with Cyanogen and the dust theme. I have to keep switching it back to Nexusmod donate with the blue theme (my fav!). Wasn't sure if that might be related.

Oct 2, 2010I like the stock launcher the best, along with the Motorola widgets. Well actually, I just need the quick tasks for contacts, which is why I want the widgets. When I apply themes, is there any way to keep the stock launcher instead of the preinstalled ADW or LP? And if so, will this allow me to use the Moto widgets? Or are these widgets/Blur part of something else?

(I am able to change the default theme by hardcoding in the code (styles.xml),but I need to know how we can we set themes dynamically. I saw the Android phone,but there is no Setting where we can set the Theme.)

Nov 8, 2009I am wondering how to apply themes from xda in our galaxy. A lot of themes say that will only work on cyanogen mod rom and i am not that expert to make experiments with my phone. The way of setting a theme must be the same (update.zip or correct me if i am wrong). I think we can make a list here of the working themes on galaxy and maybe a how to install or modify themes to work with galaxy.

May 14, 2013All the threads that I see for applying system wide, they would replace the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk and thus would require a restart of the device from the recovery mode.
However, the ROMs like MIUI and ChameleonOS does it without a restart.
Even few Old ICS devices used to come prebundeled with 2-3 Themes with different wallpapers and launcher default widgets.
I'm trying to do something on the lines of above ROMs and have started checking their code. And found that the starting point is by appending an extra path with the AssetManager, but since they also do a lot of changes to other applications,
would be great if I can get some pointers on where to start, key things to do to get the ball rolling and if there is already some solution like this which I can add to my ROM

Jul 9, 2010I have searched for this but didn't really find a clear answer. I am running BB Froyo 0.4---can themes be installed over other themes? IE- can I install blue energy over Xtheme? Is there a way to revert back to the generic BB with no theme or do I need to restore a backup to accomplish this?

Apr 3, 2012I am trying to create themes for Nemus launcher and so far am struggling to find ou the package names for many apps (some default Samsung Note,SGS2 apps and some Market installed) ,,,,, is thr a simpler way to find out the names of these apps so that can assign Icons to them by replacing the "." in the name with a "_" .
I tried to use Astro ->Application manager for this and used the name of the package as displayed in the App manager but it doesn't seem to work when i apply that Icon in my themes.....

I used the 928 black glass theme because it included the deodex, but i didn't like how it looked. I later upgraded to nextheme, then revolution.
However, it seems there are still some remnants of 928 on my droid (e.g. the universal inbox still looks like 928 with the blue reload symbol).
I would like to get rid of that (go back to the stock universal inbox) and I would like to get the colorful icons for the settings list that was in Nextheme but not in Revolution.
Motorola Droid X :: ROM's - Deodex And Themes
Oct 10, 2010I have about 300 hours of reading in and I am still sitting with a Droid X, 2.2 OTA and no root. I know how to root with rootmyx2 1-click method, not an issue. Was rooted before 2.2 and didn't want any leaked versions.
I have every tool that I would ever need. Root Explorer, Titanium BU, ROM Manager and Droid X Recovery Bootstrap.
But I can't get a straight answer for what ROM's I can install with the 2.2 OTA and which ones deodex for me. I know the 928DroidBlackGlassX-DroidX-OTA2315-DeOdexEERR-THEME will deodex for you but from what I read you have to have a ROM first. So confused.
I read FlyX has been put on the 2.2 w/out deodex and others say you need it first.
I'm just looking for the easiest step-by-step instructions to get set up for themes on a DX 2.2 Official 2.2 OTA.
Motorola Droid :: Can Use Rom Custom Themes
Jun 18, 2010I have never rooted before and I am about to give it a whirl. I am not worried about the consequences really, I feel pretty confident I can follow directions. My only issue is, after browsing these forums I am completely lost on what rom to use! I see some people saying beast and various other custom roms, then I see some saying "vanilla" Froyo is the way to go.
1) What rom SHOULD a first timer use?
2) Where do you find it?
3) What is the most newb friendly rom loader?
4) Can I use any of these custom themes I see with any custom rom or do I need the "vanilla"?
5) Does WiFi work in all of the Froyo roms now?
6) Are there a list of known issues with specific custom roms available or even "vanilla" froyo?
7) Will my purchased apps that are updated to work in 2.2 work?
