Sep 26, 2010I mentioned this in the "Which ROM" thread but thought it could use its own thread as well. Thoughts on which ROM to use for Froyo?

View 23 RepliesI want to know if anyone has tried the new 2.2 sense roms? And if so, what is the best so far? The main reason for this post though, is that I want to know if there is a rom that has the keyboard of CELB and KAOS and NONSENSIKAL, as well as the dialer? Or is that something that I can go download and use it on whatever rom that I choose?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere are a few simple tweaks I discovered to make your Kaos Froyo rom as fast or faster than most 2.1 based roms. These settings make a world of difference in how the phone responds and make Froyo a joy to use!
1. Ditch Adw and install Launcher Pro. 90% of the slowness comes from Adw!
2. Go to settings/display/animation and turn off all animations. They might look neat, but youll be surprised at how fast the phone is without them.
3. Under LauncherPro preferences, go to Advanced Settings and change the opening speed to 10 for both options.
4. Install setcpu and set it for 245,710 for normal use, and 245,480 for when the screen is off. Kaos rom is already overclocked to 710 so this is just for extra battery life.
5. reboot the phone after applying the tweaks and enjoy a very fast eris.
Seriously, after doing this my phone flies like it has never done before on any 2.1 based rom. Changing between apps is instant and everything is extremely responsive. I love this rom!
Giving it a second shot. So far its been ok. Took a half hour and 4 reboots before I got it stable. That does not include the 2 reboots it did by itself. Also Anyone have a suggestion for a replacement for the gallery app in 2.2. It is really slow and sucks. It is visually pleasing but I want to set a wallpaper quickly and not wait 5 min for it cache all my images. At this point however I do see myself going back to xtr... just no comparison speed wise but I am going to give it a few days solid testing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI really, really, really like this ROM and I have looked at four different ones. The one thing I noticed is that the automatic brightness doesnt seem to work. Or at least, when it's dark, the phone's brightness which is too low, never changes.Am I supposed to add something else to the phone? I wiped factory and dalvick. I have v30 of Froyos.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been having terrible battery life lately on tazz froyo 7 so I decided to find another Rom. I chose nonsensikal (8.2) because it was a froyo Rom and i like the black theme. Anyone who has had or currently has nonsensikal, how is the battery life?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs thee anyway to change nonsensikal 10.0 to all black? I've been looking around and haven't really found a straight answer.
View 7 Replies View RelatedTrying out NonSensikal since last night, but when I try to load the Swype installer I get a notice on the Swype beta site that my phone is not an Android phone. Anybody else seen this problem?
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen talking on the speaker phone, the display shuts off after a few seconds during the conversation. I used to be able to press the volume toggle and the screen would turn back on in case I needed to put in numbers or something. But with Kaos v37 the screen will only turn back on if I hit the end button, which of course then hangs up the call. Anybody else having this issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I rooted and installed nonsensikal ROM my battery drains like crazy. Was wondering if maybe the overclocked CPU in the ROM (710) might have something to do with it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOK so I can't decide on which Rom to choose, they're both pretty good IMO, but which one do you guys prefer? And for nonsensikal, which version do you find stable and fast?
View 22 Replies View RelatedI really like Nonsensikal 10.8.1! It seems very zippy, smooth, and stable. The only issue I seem to be having is that my battery drains so quickly. Anyone else having this issue?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just flashed Nonsensikal v13.7 last night and since I am not getting any text message notification sounds. If I happen to get a notification sound, it is the default notification sound I set for my emails, et cetera. I use Handcent and have from the beginning. I set, reset, and reset my Handcent notification sound to be "pixie dust" but like I said, I'm not getting any notification sounds for my texts. Is anyone else having this issue on Nonsensikal? I didn't have this issue with version 12.5. Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be helpful.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running a rooted Eris on nonsensikal 3.9. I just rooted last night and I'm very new to all this. When I first ran setcpu it gave me another root access error. So I went onto super controls and gave I access. Now whenever I run setcpu I'm. Able to move the slider only one time then it freezes everything so bad I have to pull battery.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI want the flash 10.1 on my htc eris so I assume that I need froyo 2.2. Is there a guide to do this or will the eris get flash 10.1 soon?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen videos on youtube where someone has rooted an eris and put froyo 2.2 on the phone. The question I have is if you can root the eris if its already been upgraded to 2.1 and if you can how in depth is it. Where would you go to get the program and is it as easy as the videos up for rooting with 2.1 from 1.5.
View 43 Replies View RelatedI've been using Nonsensikal since rooting, and I guess I'll need to find a new ROM. Anyone have any suggestions for a good Froyo ROM(non-sense)? I tried Tazz and Kaosfroyo a while back but they seemed a little rough, have they improved enough?
Also is anyone having trouble with their Nonsensikal ROM? My phone has been a complete dog today, it's like it's stock again. I haven't upgraded to 10.0 but am in the process right now.
I've come to the conclusion that I really don't like the default keyboard included with the kaosfroyo rom. As cool as it looks, its just bad at correcting mistakes. The htc keyboard was great once you calibrated it, and seemed to remember certain words that you use often to suggest them over other choices. Is it possible to install the HTC keyboard on this rom? Are they any other keyboards worth trying?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe one thing I just couldn't get to work was Navigation in Froyo ROMs. It would always get stuck at "Searching for GPS." Well on xda, a fellow member told me to flash the new CFS kernal from Conap ) So this is what I did to finally get the Navigation to work!
1. Reboot into recovery and make a Nandroid backup just in case.
2. Wipe Dalvik cache
3. Flash new CFS kernal [GPL]2.6.29.6 CFS Kernel 9/4/10 - xda-developers(There is also a BFS kernal which is only if you want high benchmarks, CFS is for overall stability)
4. Once rebooted, clear the data of Maps in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
5. Open up Maps and put in directions to an address, then click Navigate.
6. Once Navigation is up and running, it will get stuck at "Searching for GPS." Make a sandwich, wash dishes, etc.
7. Sooner or later it will get pass the "Searching for GPS" stage. (It took 15 minutes for me)
8. Navigation should be working instantly now, back out of Navigation, try a new address, and Navigation should instantly work without having to go through "Searching for GPS."
I've been running xtrSense and xtrRom for months with great results.
I decided to try a Froyo based Rom and my first two attempts (FroShedYo.V6 and Nonsensikal v13.2) both had the same WiFi issue.
I can't connect or even detect my wireless network. I'm 5 feet away from the AP which had great connectivity with the xtr Roms.
Settings..show Wi-Fi scanning continously.
Reboot...cycled airplane mode... nothing.
Even rewiped and reflashed.
Everything else appears to be working great.
It doesn't go together! Anyone found a fix for this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo just rooted and I hear Froyo is coming soon. Will i be able to get Froyo?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile I know you can use camera magic for your camera needs with a froyo rom..figured I'd share the good news. There is a CELB 1.9 rom (aka erislightning bolt froyo) that has WORKING cam...the gallery still goes funky when you try to view sideways but the cam DOES indeed have a working preview!
[ROM] CELB Froyo 1.9(5MP Camera with Preview, Apps2sd,MMS,Market,Wifi, )
Can someone please list all the available froyo roms for the rooted eris? I know of couple but it sounds like there are so many out there.
