View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a scenario at hand, for which I need a solution as soons as possible. Here is the problem statement: I need to show an image overlapped by some other image, 100%. The condition is that the picture in background should also be visible through the foreground picture but only through some part of the foreground picture. Please try to visualise how it should look like. There is a picture shown and in middle of it, there is a transparent area through which the background image is visible. I knew that I can make an image transparent and make the background image visible but here I want only some part of the foreground image to be transparent so that it looks like sort of picture frame applied to the background puicture. And for those who read the statement carefully would have understood that the ultimate thing desired is to have a picture frame applied to the picture. Can anyone please suggest a good way to do this.

I was just wondering if there is a way in the settings to adjust the transparency of the status bar like it has for the app drawer. I currently have the 8.2 version of adw that I downloaded from the devs website and I can't figure out the settings to adjust the transparency of the status bar.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow would I go about putting a transparent bar along the top of a scrollview so that when the text scrolls up it kind of fades out towards the top? I am talking about the kind of thing that the Facebook and NFL mobile apps use. I think it just makes the whole design look nicer and I was wondering how I could implement this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a GUI program with the Android SDK, using their Lunar Lander example as a significant self-teaching tool in the process. I've noticed their sprites' images' backgrounds, which were at least usually pure white, did not show up in their program. I want to ask how they did that, since their site doesn't explain simple things very well. I've managed to pull that off before on another GUI SDK, wherein all I had to do was to call a function and pass it a few floats to define a certain color, and until my code told it to do otherwise, that function would make sure that that particular color in my sprites' images was totally transparent. However I've wrestled with the Lunar Lander example and getting my own program to show some custom graphics for a week or two now, and I haven't noticed any such function call in the Lunar Lander example. I tried to look for it, but I did not find anything. I've tried to Google some tutorial or other reference material, but what I've found so far is just straying off into unrelated areas and totally dodging this EXTREMELY important lesson on the SDK's basics.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMaking the touched areas of bitmap image transparent(seems like erasing) while I am moving my finger on that image.
I am having a PNG file with Alpha channel in it. I want to turn the touched pixels to transparent so that, the user can feel that he is actually erasing it.
For this I am using frame layout to load 2 layers. Down layer is for content and upper layer is an Imageview for erasing. I need erase the upper layer when user touch and move his finger on it.
I am not getting how to make it transparent. can anyone please help me in this. If possible please direct me to any sample code, as I am very new to this image processing.
For anyone who didn't see this already over at alldroid, there is a new ROM that I am using that is pretty sweet, its a 2.0.1 rom with 2.1 apps similar to that of the bugless beauty but it doesn't move the /system apps to /data and the notification bar is a dark transparent with white clock? home screen rotation works too. It is a very nice rom and I think very quick, as quick as the version .5 of the bugless one I was using. He is also coming out with a version with wifi tethering but said u can install it separately and it works. I haven't tested that out yet. All in all its a great rom and I am definitely sticking with this one because the theme applied is super slick!

I'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.
Is there a way to get rid of this? my clock on my first page shows through and makes it all unreadable. is there a way to delete the transparant lockscreen and put a different one on?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI never really liked the look of the original HTC Sense UI Lock Screen. The arc across the screen never appealed to me. So recently i switched the Nexus style one. But i kind of missed the Sense UI Lock Screen because of the additional information and capabilities it provided. So i decided to see what it would look like without the arc and just transparent. Doesn't look too bad...

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe reason I'm posting this question is because I cannot make a notification to reproduce a sound or a vibration sequence. For the case of the vibration I have permissions properly set and logcat do not show log message indicating a problem. For the case of sound, I have an mp3 saved in the res/raw folder and I always got an error saying: error loading sound in logcat. I add an snipped with the code Im using. Probably anyone can let me know if I am making a newbie mistake.
