I have the droid eris and i love it and this is my first smart phone. But i seem to have done something when texting and now my text is in a transparent text box that appears and then disappears when pressing the home screen button. So I thought it was a widget and when I tried to drag it over to the trash, it doesnt move. how can i get rid of this transparent text box?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.

It scrunches the layout background as the background to each button, I want it to span all three buttons...
Sometimes when I receive messages it makes the notification sound and will show message in notification bar but the text of the message will not appear in the text thread. Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. Just want to see if i am alone with this problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i get an email (gmail) and I attempt to download the rest of the message, it gives me an error and tells me that there's not enough space and instructs me to delete messages. After deleting almost all messages, i still get the same error.
Do the messages get stored on my card or device? SHould i delete my podcasts that rest on my card?

I'd really like to be able to read my most recent text BEFORE I unlock my pattern lock screen. Preferably in the form of a popup. I really don't care if it's over it or on top I just want to be able to read it before I unlock. I've done a good deal of searching, on xda and elsewhere, and I really can't find any information on how I might be able to do this. I tried playing with the popup settings in handcent and I have got the pop up to show up over the lockscreen, but if the screen turns back off then I have to unlock the phone to see the text again. Is there anything I can do about that?
I even tried playing around with Sms Popup with no luck either. Could I perhaps somehow remove the background on my pattern lockscreen so that I can see the popup behind it? I'd also like to add that I'd really rather not use any third party lockscreen apps like WidgetLocker or Lock 2.0 because I really don't like them. I know it's kind of a specific question but it's just kind of an aesthetics thing I guess.
Is there a way to get rid of this? my clock on my first page shows through and makes it all unreadable. is there a way to delete the transparant lockscreen and put a different one on?

But i kind of missed the Sense UI Lock Screen because of the additional information and capabilities it provided. So i decided to see what it would look like without the arc and just transparent. Doesn't look too bad...

I'm looking for a transparent background for the stock Weather widget(2.2). I found a few apks but they won't install. I found a couple .zips but they just for close, I think they are for 2.1.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, this is a minor but VERY annoying problem on my Eris. I have a notification that is ALWAYS SHOWING!! It is a little black and white envelope. It is labeled "New Message(s)". It has the subtext, "You have an unread message".If I slide my Notifications down, and click the notification, it brings me to the HTC Message list. All of my messages are marked as read, so I dont know why the icon is still there.If I get a text, a totally separate icon, which is also a black and white envelope, but has a green circle with a number inside it showing how many unread messages I have. If I bring the Notifications down, and click the problematic Notification, "the first one I mentioned", the second said icon will go away, and the original will NOT go away. I can click "Clear Notifications" and it will go away till I get a new message, and then the problem is back.

Example:
I txtd person#1. then person #2 txtd me. opening messages I replied to person #2. but it went to person #1. my only guess is it goes to whom ever created the thread. very bad app. still trying to figure this out?
Like how to reply to the correct person and whom its going to. in threads?
I use hand cent but have been hearing there is a.bug in it to keep hour phone awake.

Since I no longer use ATK and been observing using System Panel; I notice that both are still running ACTIVE. Handscent has more CPU time then Message. More then half my txts come up as a quick text over the lock screen.Is that pulling from Handcent or Message?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just switched over to handcent as my messaging app. I changed the defaults and switched off the notifications function on original app. Here's my question... just switching off the notifications from old app, messages still come thru to old app...does that take up some form of memory? If so, how do I turn off un-wanted app so messages do not go to it anymore? Any hints, info or thoughts on this matter is greatly appreciated.

I tried that and when I use Handcent it still says the message is not delivered and sometimes it just flat out sends a blank message.The text is going to an email not an actual phone number but I'd like to keep handcent because I really like the pop up and the GUI. Would anyone have any other tips or tricks to help me get rid of this annoying error?Well i guess I forgot to mention some things.I updated my phone to 2.1 last night with the "new" leak I guess you call it.I tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling handcent.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I updated (finally!!) to 2.1 OTA on Saturday morning. Ever since then, my Handcent app has been acting strangely. Seems at least half of the txts I send generate an "Undelivered message" error, and there's that lil red 'x' next to the msg in the convo. Thing is, I've checked with friends, and the texts are in fact being sent just fine. Anyone else having this problem? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent, to no avail. It's really annoying to have to delete the "undelivered messages" every time. Plus then I have no record on my phone of that sent txt.

No hyphens or special characters, just the 10 digit number@vtext.com I even tried sending a text from a hotmail account to my vtext address - no go.Is anyone able to send a text to your own phone through the web site?
