Has anyone attempted to update either their Profile or their PRL recently? I have been trying to do both (because it's good to do every once in awhile, and I'm trying to see if it'll help with my 4G issue) and it gets stuck in the preparation stage and never completes.

Do not update your profile via Setting/System Updates.
It deletes your pictures, videos, and movies. Just an FYI in a more prime location since not everyone reads the troubleshooting forum.

If you must do it, back your SD card up first.
I have the favorite widgets and I'm using my friends FaceBook as there profile picture. Only problem is, it wont update there pic, it's going on days now since they've change there pic and it wont update. I have unsync FB, resync and its update only that time, but it wont do it automatically.

I used the software update and downloaded it, went ahead and let it update, and now about 2 hours later it's still updating. I'm stuck on the screen with the Android guy with a triangle and exclamation point in it.Is this normal? How long does this update take?
View 12 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to refresh friendstream is gets permanently stuck on "updating" and the only way to get it to work again is to restart the phone.More often than not I can't view updates on my phone because it just gets stuck, but occasionally it will work once. but if I try again I'm not so lucky!Anyone have idea what's wrong? It used to work perfectly before the Froyo update. It's been hit and miss ever since.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was updating to CM11 using clockworkmod recovery v6.0.3.2 and experienced status 7 error. I now know that you need v6.0.4 to update to CM11.
I am now stuck with no OS in clockworkmod recovery and cant revert to the original CM10 as I get a (bad) error.
How would I go about updating to v6.0.4?
I did not register my googlemail account on my Hero when I initially set it up but want to do so now. I get the old 'sim card may not be provisioned for data services' error message and have read up that I will have to do a hard reset.
This will wipe out my texts so I want to know is there a way to back them up? I am aware there are utilities in the android marketplace for this purpose but as I cannot sign in to my googlemail account via my phone, I cannot make use of them.
I rooted my phone (HTC Hero 200 running 2.1) a few days ago, went with Fresh 2.1, but after having some trouble with WiFi Tethering I opted for Damage Control. I did a lot of searching online and found Damage Control 0.999999% and installed it on my phone. It is working okay for the most part, but I found out that there are a number of 2.0 versions out there so I decided I wanted to update to a new version.
1) Version 2.09.1 would not load (and I read that it was unstable so I removed it and rolled back.
2) I went with version 2.08.1 and when I rebooted the phone it would get stuck on the boot-up screen and would not go any further (I went in, wiped the phone, went back to the initial Kernel I installed (2.6.29-8f4e5478 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1), but it still wouldn't work.
3) I research other Damage Control ROMS and went with 2.06.1 Lite to download the DCUpdater, thinking that if I went with this edition I would use it to get to 2.08.1, but same result as before.
Do I need to download a new Kernel? Do I need to start from scratch and root my phone all over again?
I read about this in fxp 148 cyanogenmod 10 changelog and would like to know what doesn't this exactly mean. I cannot post a link for the entire changelog.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got an activity that calls a helper class called DownloadManager. DownloadManager spawns a thread that downloads a mp3 to the sdcard. I'm having some trouble finding the best design for resuming the initial activity and starting the MediaPlayer. Does it make the most sense to use a BroadcastReceiver that receives a message that download is complete, then start a new Intent of my activity? Think I saw something that I can't use an Intent to start an Activity from BroadcastReceiver because it is a background process.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone having trouble with widgets stop updating? Like my clock/calendar/weather/news/pretty much any widget i have stops updating after an hour. So i look at my clock widget two hours later and it is an hour behind. Happens to ALL my widgets.Even the quick turn on/off wifi,bt,gps and such. They just stop updating/showing animation.I have ADW launcher installed. I am wondering if it is that. I do not really want to remove it as i hate the stock 3 button interface at the bottom (why do i need a contacts and phone, just use the phone to look thru contacts, wasted space IMO) and am quite keen on keeping the 5 button.Any ideas? If i power off the phone and turn it back on it's fine again for about an hour. SOmetimes randomly thru the day it will start updating and working fine again then randomly stop again.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting an app that lets me create profiles and toggle them on and off from my home screen. So far, I've found a couple of apps that seem to do this. Primarily what I want to do is to be able to get in my car, toggle a widget on my phone screen and turn on GPS, Blue tooth and Auto brightness. My phone is plugged in in my car so none of these settings matter to me that they drain the battery and I use the phone as a GPS unit in my car. When I get out of my car, I want to be able to toggle to one of two other profiles. One would turn GPS and Auto Brightness off and leave BT on and the other would turn all three off. (When I'm at my office I don't use my BT headset as the handset is sitting right at my desk.) Secondarily, I want to be able to have scenes on my phone change automatically. I've got one that I use for work and another that I use for home. It would be great if I could have it set up so that the work scene was on from 8-5, M-F and then it flipped to the home scene at all other times unless I manually changed it. It doesn't look like Setting Profiles supports this, but I'm wondering if Locale does. If neither app supports this, it's not a huge deal.

View 20 Replies View RelatedSo after seeing people were posting on here about the PRL update on 7/28 I went to go hit the PRL update under Settings > System updates. To my surprise it will not let me do the PRL update. I keep hitting the button and nothing happens. I tried the same thing for the Firmware and Profile updates and nothing happens when I press the buttons. The only one that works is the HTC software update. I tried turning my phone on and off and the same thing still happens. Have not tried a reset yet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Fresh 3.1.0.2, Netarchy 2.6.32.15, Radio version 1.39.00.05.31 and PRI 1.40_003.When I try to update my profile and prl i get error code 1012.When i flash Stock Odex 2.2 i am able to update no problem, hence the updated PRI version.Does anyone have the same issue, or know of a fix?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I soft rebooted a few weeks ago, I lost a bunch of settings (like wallpaper, default notification sound, skype). Also the HTC weather widget stopped updating on its own. I can manually update it but it stays at one location, not the one I am at. Used to work fine. Seems like "my location" doesn't update for it. I ahve tried to reboot, reload widget, reset my location settings - no change. My stock web browser also resets at some sites (this one especially). Never had this issue before.Tried to update my profile and the screen just goes black. Stays that way until I hit the back button.
