View 4 RepliesI'm trying to sell my phone (galaxy S4) that has a certain application on it that has now been removed from the app store. The profile I use on there is obviously my personal profile so when I sell it, I want to remove any trace of it while still keeping the app... Is this possible? If so is there any trick to doing it (I don't want to risk trying to just put a new profile on there and losing the app).
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo Please help. How do I add a profile pic to this site. I went to my profile and added the pic and it shows up on my profile page, but it does not show up in threads. Its 100x75 so I think thats in the boundaries.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know a good free app that changes your phones profile at set times in the day? for example - have it on loud before i start work at 9am so i can hear alarm and have it on vibrate during the night?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI hate to make a thread about this because i remember seeing this app a few days ago. i just cant find it now. the app would set times that you wanted your phone to be on a certain profile. like 7-3 (silent for work) then 3:01-bed ring. then back to silent ect.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting an app that lets me create profiles and toggle them on and off from my home screen. So far, I've found a couple of apps that seem to do this. Primarily what I want to do is to be able to get in my car, toggle a widget on my phone screen and turn on GPS, Blue tooth and Auto brightness. My phone is plugged in in my car so none of these settings matter to me that they drain the battery and I use the phone as a GPS unit in my car. When I get out of my car, I want to be able to toggle to one of two other profiles. One would turn GPS and Auto Brightness off and leave BT on and the other would turn all three off. (When I'm at my office I don't use my BT headset as the handset is sitting right at my desk.) Secondarily, I want to be able to have scenes on my phone change automatically. I've got one that I use for work and another that I use for home. It would be great if I could have it set up so that the work scene was on from 8-5, M-F and then it flipped to the home scene at all other times unless I manually changed it. It doesn't look like Setting Profiles supports this, but I'm wondering if Locale does. If neither app supports this, it's not a huge deal.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm working with an OpenGL ES app in Android, but when I want to use traceview to profile my code, I always obtain the following error: ThreadData: 'android/XX/XX' call time (xxxxxxxx) is less than previous time (xxxxxxx) for thread '[3] main'. I've tried to call Debug.startMethodTracing() and stopMethodTracing() in different places of my code but it never works, anyone can help?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to try and connect to an bluetooth device using the HID profile using an android phone. The phone I'll be using is the vibrant and according to samsung it doesn't support the HID Profile ( http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=22&PG_ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=560&AT_ID=281257 ).
Now my question is this, where does this "profile" reside? Is it on the hardware level or on the software level ( I assume the latter from other sources that I have read ). And if it is the latter, can HID implementation be created using RFCOMM communication over bluetooth (this is the only seemingly viable method I can see in the android bluetooth API).
I just want to make sure I understand the technology before I try and implement something that may not be possible.
I'm developing an application related to daily horoscopes. I have to add a functionality that allows user to post his/her horoscope on his/ her facebook profile. as far as i know we have to get some permissions from the user to post things to their profiles. but i don't know how to do that from android.

Just got Tasker and want to make several location (gps) based profiles but how can I setup a default profile when I an not in and location radius?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAnyone that is using tasker. First off, love this application, def my fave so far. I am looking for some help to forward text messages (SMS) to my IM account so that I can get them and respond on my computer when I am at work (8-5) - Is there a way I can send them over to google talk or using an IM client (Meebo) and use that to respond?? Maybe use google voice to transfer them over?

Coming from blackberry i have to say i am very disappointed with the lack of Profile tools. I rely heavily on custom vibration patterns and duration to differentiate between different email accounts, IM, phone, sms etc because i spend a lot of time sitting in meetings and need to discretely differentiate between accounts.
Why oh why hasn't somebody developed an App like the profile manager in blackberry? I really need an app with custom vibration across all notifications, not just call or sms. i don't want to go back to boring blackberry but might need to.
I'm curious as to how to setup a profile picture for myself on the phone.
Basically, in Messaging, I can see photos for other people, but "Me" just has the default Android icon.
Is there any way of setting a photo for that ("Me"). I suppose I can create a contact in my address book for myself, but I feel a bit silly doing that, lol. Surely there's a way of just setting a profile picture somewhere?
(My Google account has a profile pic, as does my Twitter etc - I thought it would have just grabbed it from tha.).
I am looking to profile my web application on Android for starts...what is the best way to get the kind of information that a tool like Web Inspector would give me on the desktop? Since I cannot use Web Inspector or Speed Tracer on the mobile device...how can I get such data/info ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've been loving my droid, but all of a sudden the facebook app is acting strangely. Everytime I try to view someone's profile all it does is show me their info. Usually there is a tab for their wall, info, and photos. The app itself is useless to me because I can't comment on anyone's wall or look at pictures.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCan someone explain a couple of very simple concepts to me - I'm interested in mobile devices running android and how they are identified over networks. Some scenarios: Device is connected over WiFi - presumably the device has a standard IP address as with any host and can communicate with any other android host over TCP/IP (assuming it knows the participating device's IP? device is connected over bluetooth - how are devices identified in this case? device is connected over mobile operator's network - this is the one I'm interested in and confused by - is there anyway for two or more devices to discover each other and communicate via the mobile operator's network? How does a device communicate with a backend server in this scenario? In other words, how do apps and devices communicate when not connected to a WiFi network?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to develop an application for input device(bluetooth). I would like to use HID profile or SPP. But Android SDK support only A2DP and AVCRP profile. I'll have to wait until the next version is released. I have one question. I think A2DP, AVCRP profile use SPP. is correct? If so, we can use SPP instead of A~~ profiles? I don't know bluetooth api.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI realize that the Blue tooth API is subject to change over time and that the only available profiles are A2DP and AVCRP, but I am really interested about the options I have to develop an application using the Serial Port Profile. I don't really care if the API will later change, this application is meant to be used only by me (I am trying to communicate to a mirocontroller using Blue tooth and the only supported profiles are SPP and GAP). I am going through the /core/java/android/blue tooth/ classes at the moment but I don't see anything that refers to the SPP or otherwise. I am willing to invest time to learn and write a SPP implementation, provided I have someone to guide me. This is valuable to me because I am doing this project as a final year project so I'm not exactly waiting for someone else to do my work. In conclusion, does anyone have any suggestions on where I could start looking and studying to be able to use the SPP in an application?
View 19 Replies View RelatedIs there a bedside mode with Android that will allow you to silence all notifications except the ringer? I want to hear the phone ring in case of emergency, but need to silence email, text, etc.
Blackberry allowed you to set up profiles to do this. Can't find it with Android.
I'm looking for an app that will allow me to set up different profiles for phone settings that can be switched easily by choosing a "profile" from a list.I DON'T want Locale. i want to be able to do this by choosing from a list, NOT based on my location. For example, a user could set up a Power Saver profile, a Power User profile, an Online Profile, etc. Each of these profiles should be customizable. For example, I should be able to customize the "Power Saver" profile to the power settings I want (ie. Screen brightness, WiFi off, Bluetooth Off, Syncing Off, etc).Is there anything like this? Ideally I'm hoping for something that has a free version, as I am in Canada and we can't get paid apps yet.For the record, I am using Useful Switchers, but I don't want to have to go through all the various steps each time I want to go back and forth from power saving and using my phone online.

I faced the problem in the application that SPP was not activated and so the connection could not be established over bluetooth and when I started another app that is 3g hotspot which I think activates SPP and I was able to connect over bluetooth in my app.
So, how can we actually activate SPP profile of bluetooth in Android devices? And does all the android devices has SPP profile?
Is it possible on this or an Android to have customizable 'profiles', like Nokia phones have? So that say in a meeting, only certain numbers would ring and messages could be on silent etc? Have been sticking to Nokia only for this function but would love to shift to Android if I can do this. Eg: Nights, I want my hospital number to ring but no other number. In Nokia, I can set a group of numbers by name nad only that group will ring in a given profile.I know that a lot of Nokia users stick to Nokia for this feature.Search showed a lot of profile managers, but none that had this 'selective number' ring only stuff.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up a profile so that while I am driving if I get an SMS a reply is automatically sent. I can get that pretty easy. Here is the tricky part:
I want the reply sent with the exception of 2 numbers:
1. 32665*** (Facebook) - any reply is posted to my FB account so obviously I don't want an auto reply here. The *** is different with every text thread from FB.
2. (123)456-7890 - One number I don't want the auto reply sent to.
I tried Send SMS ... if "%CNUM !~ 1234567890", but when I set that condition a response was not sent to other numbers.
How can I set it to ignore both of the numbers I listed, and how do I format the "if" conditions.
I'm very happy with how my Hero is set up at the moment, but there are a couple of apps which would make my life a lot easier, and conserve my precious battery!
Location based profiles using wirless location (and not GPS) I'd love to be able to arrive at work (or within 1500 meters of work) and my phone recognise this and switches on wifi, turn itself to silent, or choose a more suitable ringtone. I know that there are a few apps out there that use GPS to trigger, but this really kills my battery. I also know that wireless location isn't that accurate, but I'd only need ball park triggers anyway.
Time based app to kill certain features/apply airplane mode I've got Silent Time Pro, which switches my phone to silent at my bed time, but in an effort to conserve battery, is there an app which can also turn off wifi, GPS, auto updates and/or switch to airplane mode at specific times?
Does anyone have any recommendations for these, or do they not exist yet? Is it just me, or would these be quite handy apps?
If they don't exist, does anyone have a recommendation for me to set these profiles up manually, and maybe trigger them by means of a shortcut/widget? Obviously auto activation would be better, but I'm really trying to cut down on recharges, as it seems that my phones forever flashing orange at me!
