HTC Tattoo :: Download And Install Of Apps From Market
Nov 17, 2009been trying to download and install a couple of apps last night and this afternoon but they are getting stuck on the "starting download screen"? Is this an issue with my device or an android market issue - ive rebooted my phone, cancelled the downloads then restarted but they always get stuck on the "starting download" screen?

Nov 22, 2010Is anyone else experiencing problems? I'm on a HTC Desire running 2.2 stock Froyo. The only modification I've made is to manually force apps to the SD card. Since Market 2.12 was released I can download but not install anything. I can't update either, it'll download but then immediately bring up an Installation Failed notification.
I have been advised to clear the Market cache and to uninstall the new update but by the time I reload the Market after uninstalling the update, I'm back on 2.12 as it updates automatically.
Has anyone else experiencing similar problems?
Any idea if there's a fix or do I have to wait for Google to sort it out?
Is there anywhere I can report this to Google?
Android :: Non-Market Download Problems - Download Unsuccessful - Cannot Download
Sep 22, 2009I want to be able to download and install my app from my website, but when i do this at the moment i get the error:-
Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?

Apr 3, 2014I have galaxy s4 mini (GT19195 , 4.2.2).
the problem is that i can't upload/download anything through all the applications that i install (WhatsApp,Facebook,foursquare...). Everytime that i try to upolad or download an item it always fail.
i noticed that the folders by Default created with those applications are not there from the beginning so i tried to create them manually but it didn't work.
i removed the external sd card so that i can install the applications directly in the internal sd card but no thing changed.
Maybe if i root my phone it will work but it doesn't resolve the situation.
one important thing that i notice is that the application installed with the system (not the new ones) like gmail give me the possibility to upload/download without a problem.
i tried to move the new applications to the folder /system/app in order to be executed the same way as the system applications but no change.
HTC Desire :: Market Doesn't Display All Downloaded Items

I've been noticing of late that it isn't listing the apps that I have been downloaded thus far. It displays one/two/three items that 've been downloaded (no specific time line, either). Furthermore, sometimes, it also tends to display an app which has already been removed.

But there has to be an update for google maps by now.We are at 3.1.2 i think.When i search for google maps in the market, i get everything but google maps.I was trying to get infinity web browser as well, and this never shows up for me. Motorola Droid X :: Randomly Refuse To Finish Loading Webpages Or Market Items Over 3G - Rooted Froyo
Oct 13, 2010I am running a droid x currently unrooted (but have been rooted since 2.1).
I have rooted every install of 2.2 except for my current one (for testing purposes).
The problem is that every two or so weeks ever since installing the 2.2 OTA I have to do a factory reset in order for my 3G internet to work on the phone.
Let me explain the symptoms. Randomly the phone will refuse to finish loading webpages or market items over 3G. Sometimes after waiting a real long time or clicking a lot it will load the pages... but sometimes it will not. The internet still functions fine on the phone over wifi connection, and here's the real surprise: I can tether my laptop via both wireless tether and barnacle I get full speed on the computer even though on the phone it won't load. It always ends up taking a factory reset before it will work again.
I have 3G and my signal bars are fine.
I have been trying to figure this out for weeks. Here are the things I've tried so far:
-Cycle phone off and on multiple times.
-Cycle wifi and airplane mode multiple times.
-Multiple battery pulls.
-Clear cache and force close every application and service known to man.
-Uninstall various applications to see if they are causing problems.
-Remove SU privileges from different/all root apps.
-Try different browsers.
-*228 both options 1 and 2
-Repair privileges.
I have done a facory reset with froyo 4 times now. Each time within 2-12 days the problem returns and I can't fix it without a reset. The last three times I've reset I have gone through the whole process skipping every option to install accounts etc. as recommended to many guides.

Jul 21, 2010Had no problem getting my phone to play nice with our exchange server at work and emails are coming/going fine.
However, there are some configuration items I have a big issue with as it relates to the 'look' of the email (coming from a BlackBerry).
1. Is there any way to have a single folder show my received items and sent items combined? My BB had this and it was very useful.
2. How can I edit the way my folders are displayed at the top horizontal bar? The sidescrolling folder display is awkward, it puts my inbox first (good) but then all subsequent folders are listed alphabetically; it pays no attention to their order on my desktop and also shows sub-folders of other files. Any way to change this?
3. Is there a way to change the way emails show as unread? The difference b/n read and unread is only a shade of grey, and difficult to see outside.

Sep 25, 2010I just rooted (via simpleroot) a couple days ago and everything was fine beside my gallery not loading pics and being unable to download anything from the market. I fixed (I think) the gallery issue by updating my PRL and profile but the market issue is still there. I've tried rebooting, deleting the cache from the market and download manager, and even wiping. Now I'm out of ideas. Did I screw up the rooting process or something?

Aug 24, 2010i have fresh's newest rom, flashed a new kernal (#7, can't remember which one). i couldn't update the PRI with either method i found over at the xda forums. so i flashed nandroid backup from a few weeks ago and got my phone back up and running. now i can't download anything from the market. or it lets me download but it won't install it. has anyone encountered this, and if so, how do i fix it?

Aug 1, 2010I noticed this before 2.2 Froyo update, but it seems to be worse now. Whenever I head to the market to install an app, I will click the "install button" and then click "okay" and it states that my app will be downloaded. However, the progress bar will remain at "initiating download" or something of sort and can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to download and install. Is anyone else receiving this lag with the market, or does anyone know a fix?
