I recently rooted my phone and flashed the latest version of the Fresh ROM and my Wireless Tether app won't work. I did a search on here and on Google and didn't find anything that addressed the issue for the current version of the ROM. Is there a way to do it without having to install a kernel?

Best way to tether with latest ota? Does unrevoked still work for the latest ota? Do I have to flash a new Rom? What is the easiest way if really all I care about is wireless tether?? Sorry for nob question, just trying to understand it all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI flashed to Fresh Toast 2.1 and have tried to run wireless tether. The wireless tether starts however when i stop the wireless tether, the phone freezes. I have to take the battery out to start the phone again. I did a reinstall on binaries and my wireless tether is version 1.6.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been reading myself in circles & am a bit confused on which way to go. I am enjoying the Evo but I would like the wireless tether. I guess there are other rooted things in the future I could install but the big draw for me is replacing my wmwifirouter on my WM device on my Evo.
I just don't know what the downsides are for one over other other. I think that Fresh has tethering already built in but I don't know if there are issues with the SD card or other items. Or should I just get the stock ROM that is rooted over at XDA?
Tried running wireless tether 1.6 that comes with Fresh 2.3.3. No luck.Uninstalled Wireless Tether and reinstalled it from the developer's site. My laptop connects to the phone's WiFi network, but cannot access the internet. I've tried turning the phone's mobile network off/on while tether was running and also prior to turning on tether.

Go back into the wireless tether program and push the tether button. It then takes me to the SU request screen and does nothing...
Normally when something needs root it pops up to allow access but it does nothing.. . Just wondering what am I doing wrong and why is this then turning off my wifi when I go back to check the widget it shows that the wifi is turned off?

Not working for me- connection is establishing between phone and computer but no data is being transferred. According to the google code page for the app there's a problem with Desire compatibility. I'd use the wired USB internet sharing feature in the meantime but that isn't working for me either.

I turn it on and it says that its been granted superuser permissions but then no data moves up or down(or it'll say .4 down and .2 up) and no devices find it! Its broadcasting that it made an available wireless access point, but when I try to connect to it nothing happens. My computer wont link up to it. I know my WiFi card works because I have a working wireless access point where I live that I use every day with no issues. Its like my laptop sees the network, but wont associate with it. I tried using barnacle and it did the exact same thing.

Anyone else experience it dropping the internet connection or wifi after about an hour? It works great up to that point and doesn't show an error or anything but it just stops communicating. I have to stop tethering and start tethering and its back up again. Its not a huge issue, just something that I would resolve if I could. It was happening on pre9 but I upgraded to pre13 and it still happens. Im on Myns RLS3 with Netarchy 4191bfs kernel but it was doing it on the stock HTC #10 kernel that came with Myns.

I don't understand what is going on or what m doing wrong. Have tried to have my PC, blackberry,ps3 and psp try to find the hotspot but none of them could, not with manual entry of the SSID either. I am able to get the laptop to see and connect to the phone. But the laptop cannot ping or browse out to the internet. I have security disabled (WEP) as I read that it doesnt work. I have tried it with access control on and off to no resolution. I have tried it in Windows and in OSX without any luck. Could someone tell me what the trick is? I tried with what the Fresh image came with which I think is wireless_tether_2_0-pre7.apk and I also downloaded and tried pre8. I've searched multiple forums over the last 3 days but haven't found any solid solutions at all.

Both programs start up correctly and allow me to enable to wifi tethering but I can't get any device to see the wifi connection they are creating. I have tried both scanning for the network and trying to manually connect to it by typing in the SSID but I can't get any device to see the network. I am using a Droid X with the official 2.2 update rooted.

I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..
Tried to flash the latest fresh 1.47 ROM. It went through the flash procedure, I rebooted and now stuck on a screen that continuously says "fresh". What did I do wrong?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a stock EVO with the latest OTA update (software version: 1.47.651.1) and it has never been rooted. All I want to do now is be able to use wireless tether (with multiple laptops) via my EVO. What is the easy/best way to achieve this? I know the first thing I need to do is root the EVO. Should I do this using Unrevoked, or using something like SimpleRoot? For my purposes, what's the difference b/t these two methods?
Next, is wireless tether an app that I have to download somewhere? If so, which is the best one (if there are more than one). Or will this feature surface automatically after rooting the phone. Or does it come on some ROM that I need to flash? And finally, what is this Radio/WiMax patch thing that everyone is trying to put on their phone?
The Evo alerted me that it was ready for an update. Me not thinking about the unrevoked root I did accepted and now it won't let me tether wirelessly. I tried you redo the unrevoked thing already.
