View 15 RepliesI connected my Evo to my pc and hit use as a disk drive. But my computer didn't show any sign of another drive. I looked under my computer saw my c drive and my burners etc. tried installing htc sync off the htc website but didn't work either. Am i doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also using Astro if that matters.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just synced my Desire with my PC and tried putting some pictures and some music on to the SD card. Only 5 out of 18 pictures transferred and only 5 of the albums from 14 I selected. Also one of the albums seems to have been split into 4 'albums' with 3 of them containing only 1 track. Tried mounting the Desire as a drive rather than using sync, the images have all moved over but the music still seems misfiled or something. I'm using Cubed as my player. Is there a better option or do I need to something with my mp3s? I hope it's not an issue with tags as I want about 4gig of music at the moment and I don't want to have to go through each track checking/amending the tag for each.

When my wife and I both had Blackberry Pearls we paired them with Bluetooth but could never do anything with it.Now I am trying to use my Eve with my PC.I paired the two devices through droid successfully. Now I want to transfer music via Bluetooth from my PC to my phone. When I try it though, it fails.Actually, when I go to my PC program for transferring data to other Bluetooth enabled devices, my paired Eve isn't even a choice on the list. When I try to just send it using Bluetooth directly from the windows explorer (right click on the files and choose Send, then Bluetooth) it doesn't work either.Anyone else able to transfer files with Bluetooth from their Eve? I really want this to work since I am having issues with connecting via usb with my laptop (won't stay mounted)

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I originally had a Nexus One on T-Mobile, hated their service, cancelled, and sold the Nexus One for essentially what I bought it for. I recently moved to Sprint, where I have an HTC Hero on the way soon. I'm curious if the Google account I originally used with my Nexus One is linked to the applications I've already purchased and if by using that same account when my Hero arrives if I will be able to install those same applications w/o having to repurchase them. It makes sense in my mind as they were not sold with the Nexus One as the phone was wiped, but I'm not sure if that's the way it will work. Any incite?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got myself a new 16gb memory card, and want to put in my rooted Hero with Elelinux 1.6, but having trouble.Heres what I've done so far:
* I copy/pasted everything from my old membery card onto my pc desktop.
* Put new mem card into my hero - sorted out the partitions (in case I go back to 2.1 and need app2sd)
* Formatted the sd card within Android
* copy/pasted everything from my pc desktop onto my new memory card
The problem is, none of my installed apps/widgets are there. I tried to install Titanium from the marketplace, but for some reason wasn't able to - it just sort of hung on the download screen, (even though I didn't actually choose to download it?)
With the problems I've been hearing about the SD card that's included with the EVO, I've been in a quandary over what to do: I have an 8GB Class 6 MicroSD Card that I believe trumps the included Class 2 card that comes with the EVO, so I expect I will move everything over to that card....which begs the following - I've copied over all the photos, videos, documents, and music from my card to my PC. Should I just reformat the SD card in the device, and then copy these files over? Could I just use the SD card as I have it currently set up (I have it in my Hero at this point, running 2.1). Or should I copy the contents of the new card to my PC, add the files from my old card to that, reformat my Class 6 card, and then copy the files from the PC to this card?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI own a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. I also have iTunes. I am a fan of a particular podcast, and have 200 episodes of this podcast downloaded to a folder on my computer. So far, I have been using Media Go, which classifies these podcasts as songs, and places them in the Music section of Mediascape. However, when I go into "More" in Mediascape, I noticed there is a section for podcasts. Unfortunately, Media Go won't allow me to place these podcasts in the Podcasts section of my library, and thus forbids me from having them in the specialist podcast section. Here is my question:
How do I get all 200 episodes of my particular podcast into the podcast section of my phone? For the sake of instruction, let's assume that file size is no object.
I downloaded the V Cast Media manager and I imported my playlists from iTunes. I transferred everything to my D2 but it only transferred the Songs. Not the playlists. Is there a way to transfer by playlist or do I have to manually move songs into playlists on my phone?

Will I be able to take it to the store for activation/transfer my numbers and everything without the "primary phone owner" or whatever Verizon calls the main number on the family plan? Whenever I try to call them or go online I'm unable to do anything because I'm not the head honcho.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo i've searched around can't find anyone with my problem atleast not yet. I went to transfer some music onto my evo today and for some reason it isn't working. I already have music on it that i transfered from my computer. I plug it in via USB open up the SD card Folder and then the music folder which is showing all my other music. I then dragged in what i wanted into the folder and its showing there. Now here comes my problem. After moving the music i want into the music folder i unmount my phone. It shows the SD card prepping in the top left corner then i open my music player and my new stuff isn't there. I remount my phone and open the music folder and the files i just put in there aren't there either.Oh one thing i did notice while looking through settings and what not, i noticed when i go to the music folders properties it's showing as read only...im guessing this could be the reason but if i turn it off read only and close the property tab and then reopen it its back on read only. I'm at a total loss at what to do.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a Motorola Droid from Verizon in the spring. It came with a Sandisk 16gb card, but I have over 20 gb of music, so for the time being I've only kept some of my music on there. I always transferred music through the USB connection, using Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7). I have all the files tagged with title/artist/album etc. but for easy organization I have them sorted into folders - a folder for each artist, and a subfolder for each album. Right now my phone is running Froyo (Android 2.2).
My husband recently bought me a Samsung 32 gb micro SDHC card that he got on eBay. So of course as soon as it was in the phone, I wanted to transfer my music. I connected it to the computer via USB, and copied all my music folders onto it. Explorer showed that it would take a few hours for the transfer, so I left it plugged in overnight.....................
I have just finished my android application and now it's time to test it under real-life conditions. The only problem is I'm clueless as to how to take the application and transfer it over to a device. I have already signed the application.

In all the guides i looked up, people said to use a usb cable and "mount" the device, then transfer the music. My computer has a microSD card slot built in, so I can put the memory card right in the computer and transfer files to it. Will this work to listen to music?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having some major issues after upgrading from my old Class 2 (Samsung) 16 GB SD card to a new 64 GB class 10. The card seems fine, holds data and can read/write just fine.
I was able to transfer over everything in the ANDROID folder, but when it comes to pictures and other odds and ends, I can transfer them all PC side, but when I plug it into the phone, the files are either all deleted, all corrupt (and then deleted by the file system) or partially corrupt. It is tested while in the PC and the files are not corrupt.
I even tried doing a direct image from the old SD card to the new. (using HDD raw copy tool). Verified all files were there to the kilobyte - Put the SD card in phone and poof! Most of the files, especially everything under DCIM, gone.
Is this a 4.4 issue? A transfer method issue? Or possibly a card issue? I am on Verizon GS5 and cannot root, but want to store as much of my data on the SD card as possible..

I've never used an android device before. I thought there would be a simple built-in option for this, but it seems that there's not. Fine, so I have to download an app, which is fine. I've downloaded several, but nothing is working the way I want.
I have a folder on my computer that is shared on the network. Every other computer in the house has no problems finding it, grabbing files from it, or putting new files on it. But I can't find any app that lets me browse the shared folder like any other (windows based) computer can do. I tried looking this up and I'm getting direction for setting up an ftp client. The folder is already shared using a common and well-known protocol. I don't have to put in a username and password to find it. I don't have to select the IP address for my computer. I don't have to select protocols or anything like that. It's a standard windows home network. Why can't I find anything that will just accept that and look for that?
Explore and transfer network files without having to have me set up all this server/ftp crap. I want an app that finds that stuff automatically. Preferably one that also works as a standard file explorer app.
I just broke out the company credit card and ordered myelf an HTC Desire
My question is how do I transfer apps I purchased for my Hero to the Desire?
I'm sure I saw somewhere that it happens automagically
