Media :: Transferring Mp3 To 32gb Card
Sep 6, 2010
I got a Motorola Droid from Verizon in the spring. It came with a Sandisk 16gb card, but I have over 20 gb of music, so for the time being I've only kept some of my music on there. I always transferred music through the USB connection, using Windows Explorer (I have Windows 7). I have all the files tagged with title/artist/album etc. but for easy organization I have them sorted into folders - a folder for each artist, and a subfolder for each album. Right now my phone is running Froyo (Android 2.2).
My husband recently bought me a Samsung 32 gb micro SDHC card that he got on eBay. So of course as soon as it was in the phone, I wanted to transfer my music. I connected it to the computer via USB, and copied all my music folders onto it. Explorer showed that it would take a few hours for the transfer, so I left it plugged in overnight.....................

I have the HTC EVO 4G with a 16GB memory card inserted. I am almost out of space with my audio books etc so I was thinking of upgrading to a 32GB memory card. What is the best way to use the 32GB card with all the content currently on the 16GB card. Would using my CPU to hold the 16GB's data then copying to the 32GB card work?

I have recieved from China, via ebay, a 32gb sd card. It is actually 31.7gb according to my laptop. when i put it in my desire, it will not see it, or just tells me that the sd card needs formatting, then won't format it. Is this because the card is too slow,or is it an OS problem, that will be resolved when Froyo is released?

I'm anxiously waiting for the Hero to come to the US so I can dump my iPhone 3GS...my question is about the SD card...is it possible to use a 32gb hcsd card in the phone...my iTunes has about 15gbs in it and I'd really love to fit everything on the phone...I've read conflicting reports that the HTC hero only supports up to 16gb and elsewhere that it supports up to 32gb...anybody have one and know for sure?

I am going to swap to a bigger card this morning when my 32 GB get here from verizon. I took card out and copied entire contents to my PC. Will everything work after I copy back on new card or do I have to do something else.Don't want any surprises. I would think it would be already formatted but if not I will format it FAT32

I have installed my new 32gb card into my desire and transferred my music collection (about 20gb) across via my pc but when I try to play them not all are available. They appear to be on the card as when I check the contents of the card on the pc in explorer they are all there and if I check the folders using the phone again they are showing on the card.
But when I go to select a song to play from the stock player there are only 100 songs to choose from which is very strange as there should be over 2000 easily. Interestingly when I switched the phone off and back on again I had about 700 to choose from which is still not right. Do I need to do anything with the vcard before installing (for example I didn't format it)? For info I needed to set up a new folder called MP3 on the new card when I installed it and dragged them into this folder so presume that was correct?

I just picked up a 16GB Micro-SD card for <$60 at Office Depot on sale... beating the nearest online price by $7.00 (according to the Shopper App). The question is, what am I going to fill all that memory goodness with?
Music?
Photos?
Videos?
What else?
What are YOU planning on filling your 16 or 32 Micro-SD card with?

You might have seen this around the forums or other places: 32GB MicroSD. Its the 32GB MicroSD that Verizon is selling for $99 with FREE overnight shipping for their phones. You can buy it without having anything with Verizon, though.
I now have mine installed in my Captivate and the thing is great. I have 29GB of Music/Videos/Pictures loaded up on it and playing back ANYTHING on my phone is fast and doesn't stutter. I know I had some questions about this so I just wanted to post that yes, you CAN enjoy 48GB of space on a Captivate without worrying about Class size speed issues, worrying about the card being fake, etc. Well worth the 100 bucks. The money you can save from Wirefly/Amazon/Walmart etc can easily pay for this.

I finally got around transferring my 32Gig card out of my Evo and into the Epic. After I put it in I decided to clean it and reformat it in the Epic. Epic starts the format then comes up with a message "card damaged cant format". I put the same card in the Evo and it formatted just fine and then worked in the Epic. Then I tried to format it again in the Epic and again I get the card damaged pop up. Again it reformatted just fine in the Evo. Any ideas anyone else get this message? Just to add I tried to format a smaller card in the Epic and it was able to format that fine. Once the 32gig card is formatted in the Evo it will work fine in the Epic.

Has anyone gotten any info about the stock headphones that comes with the EVO? I want to know how good is the sound quality and are there any controls on the headset itself? Also, has anyone located a 32GB microSD card for it yet?

Doubletwist on my mac synced my itunes music library to the internal storage, not my new 32GB micro sd card. Try as I might I can't seem to find any setting to select this. Both internal and 32GB were mounted in Finder. Should I have unmounted the internal storage? Or is something else appropriate? What about copying the Music folder from the internal to the 32GB?

i have a new card and after transfering the files (which takes forever) the files are not there. on one occasion i transfered the files then inserted the card into my evo and then the music player says the file is not playable then the files seem to disappear. i am new to microsd cards but not new to pc hardware and software. to me i view the new evo as almost a mini laptop with a phone built in.
the damn phone does everything and is my first and probably last cell phone. about the card though, i formated it with my pc (windows 7) with the multimedia card reader built in. and had no luck with this issue then... i formatted the card with the phone and still no change. it is like the files just disappear

"The microSD card is based on TransFlash, which is the world's smallest flash memory card form factor and were recently adopted by the SD Card Association (SDA) and renamed "microSD." The new microSD card is fully compatible with TransFlash card slots and is designed as a small, flash memory storage card for mobile phones and devices. It supports existing TransFlash product lines and will transition its handset customers and the retail channel to the renamed microSD card.

From what I was told, the Inc supports 32gb microsd card. So I ordered a Sandisk one...class 4. I got it and tested it out. It seems like it can transfer/read small files....but anything big it wouldn't read properly. It's funny cuz a movie file would transfer and play...but if I delete it and transfer the same exact file over, it wouldn't play. Or if I transfer music, some files play and some wouldnt. And some even would merge into one file. Like one song would play and then all sudden another song would POP up like what a DJ does when they mix songs together.
I know I might have a defected one but this is a legit Sandisk card. So what else could be the problem? Should I transfer the file one or slower so the card can read it....is there a way or procedure to using a 32gb MicroSd card? Lol. I mean I have a 16gb right now and it reads and transfers fine. With the 16gb I can literally drag a folder of 10 movies and it would be fine.

I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. I also have iTunes. I am a fan of a particular podcast, and have 200 episodes of this podcast downloaded to a folder on my computer. So far, I have been using Media Go, which classifies these podcasts as songs, and places them in the Music section of Mediascape. However, when I go into "More" in Mediascape, I noticed there is a section for podcasts. Unfortunately, Media Go won't allow me to place these podcasts in the Podcasts section of my library, and thus forbids me from having them in the specialist podcast section. Here is my question:
How do I get all 200 episodes of my particular podcast into the podcast section of my phone? For the sake of instruction, let's assume that file size is no object.

So i've searched around can't find anyone with my problem atleast not yet. I went to transfer some music onto my evo today and for some reason it isn't working. I already have music on it that i transfered from my computer. I plug it in via USB open up the SD card Folder and then the music folder which is showing all my other music. I then dragged in what i wanted into the folder and its showing there. Now here comes my problem. After moving the music i want into the music folder i unmount my phone. It shows the SD card prepping in the top left corner then i open my music player and my new stuff isn't there. I remount my phone and open the music folder and the files i just put in there aren't there either.Oh one thing i did notice while looking through settings and what not, i noticed when i go to the music folders properties it's showing as read only...im guessing this could be the reason but if i turn it off read only and close the property tab and then reopen it its back on read only. I'm at a total loss at what to do.

I got my droid eris in december for christmas and have had no problems until recently. Everytime I try to put more music onto my Eris it'll only transfer SOME of the files. For instance, my phone was stolen last week and I just got my new one today. I tried to put about 20 artists onto it, and after waiting 30 minutes for them all to transfer only about 15 were there. I've checked and I still have ample space too.

With the problems I've been hearing about the SD card that's included with the EVO, I've been in a quandary over what to do: I have an 8GB Class 6 MicroSD Card that I believe trumps the included Class 2 card that comes with the EVO, so I expect I will move everything over to that card....which begs the following - I've copied over all the photos, videos, documents, and music from my card to my PC. Should I just reformat the SD card in the device, and then copy these files over? Could I just use the SD card as I have it currently set up (I have it in my Hero at this point, running 2.1). Or should I copy the contents of the new card to my PC, add the files from my old card to that, reformat my Class 6 card, and then copy the files from the PC to this card?

I'm getting my new lg mytouch in a couple days and i'd like to have some music to listen to. I know how to create folders, etc., but i have a question. In all the guides i looked up, people said to use a usb cable and "mount" the device, then transfer the music. My computer has a microSD card slot built in, so I can put the memory card right in the computer and transfer files to it. Will this work to listen to music?

I'm having some major issues after upgrading from my old Class 2 (Samsung) 16 GB SD card to a new 64 GB class 10. The card seems fine, holds data and can read/write just fine.
I was able to transfer over everything in the ANDROID folder, but when it comes to pictures and other odds and ends, I can transfer them all PC side, but when I plug it into the phone, the files are either all deleted, all corrupt (and then deleted by the file system) or partially corrupt. It is tested while in the PC and the files are not corrupt.
I even tried doing a direct image from the old SD card to the new. (using HDD raw copy tool). Verified all files were there to the kilobyte - Put the SD card in phone and poof! Most of the files, especially everything under DCIM, gone.
Is this a 4.4 issue? A transfer method issue? Or possibly a card issue? I am on Verizon GS5 and cannot root, but want to store as much of my data on the SD card as possible..
