If you haven't noticed already Endadget has posted some new hands-on videos. One thing I noticed from the demos was the more reasonably sized directional arrows on the keyboard. May not be a huge deal to most, but it sure looks a whole lot better.

My phone froze last night (for the first time) so I had to do a battery pull and when it booted up I got a call...and the slide arrows are pointing up and down instead of right and left. I know someone else had this happen, I remember the thread, I just think it's kinda funny looking. No worries, obviously they still work, just pointing in the wrong direction! I almost want them to stay that way

I have had a rooted phone since before i even walked out of the T-Mobile store with it and it has never misbehaved or done anything strange. Now, however, i noticed what can only be described as a small series of chevrons or arrows that were blinking on the lower middle of the screen. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you click on "Phone" and start typing letters to bring up whatever contact you're trying to locate, there are horizontal arrows that are on both sides of the name if that particular person has multiple numbers. Is there a way to scroll right or left to see them or am I forced to click on the "index card" looking icon to pull up their entry?? It's also like that when you look at "call history".

Thought it might have been an indication that there were updates available for these apps, but checking the market there is nothing.
What is the white circular symbol with two arrows in opposite directions that is right next to the 3G symbol at the top of the screen? I've seen it appear several times in the last day and it seems to coincide with a crazy drop in battery life (12 hours with minimal use).

On my Samsung galaxy s3 I have 2 flashing arrows under my wifi bar.. I went to Samsungs chat and the first time I was told that it was because I was transfering data but I wasn't. She then told me to do a soft reset so it did and it still continued. Then I went back on because the first person told me it would eat up my data if I didn't break the transfer. The second lady said that all that means is that it's showing that it's connected to my router and is normal and won't use my data..

The arrows on the search box that allow you to enter autocompleted text without seaching for it (just adds the autocomplete to your search string) is missing. See the screenshots below for comparison (ICS (or GB?) on the left, JB on the right)
Was that something added by CyanogenMod? Or is it part of Android that's been dropped? I used to use it a lot! Back in the days of the HTC G1 you could use the track ball to scroll down through the list, but without that you're reliant on the arrows. [URL] .......
Newbie question here:
My internet conection is painfully slow. when I have the mobile network switched on a get a G with two arrows showing GPRS?
Is this correct, should I not see a 3G with two arrows? I am with O2UK.
I went on settings>basic phone settings>settings download>tesco mobile. not alot changed, well until i realised a little E sometimes G with two arrows appear on the top line of the screen, did not pay much attention to it until i have just gone to use my phone and i have no credit left and i am sure that has something to do wtih it why is this and how do i stop it from running without resetting the phone?

I'm not sure if it's doing anything. I even tried turning sync off altogether but it won't go away.
Tried shutting down twice.
I have haptic feedback turned off, but the arrows you use to navigate the home screen still vibrate, as well as the luck buttons and widgets. Is this normal, or is this an issue? Also while in low light, or dark conditions, shouldn't the for hard keys light up?? Is this an issue if they don't, or just an affect of not having brightness set to auto?

Why do some people say the Moment is a "brick"? I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but according to specs I found online the Moment is smaller than the iPhone in width and height, and only 1.5mm thicker:
Moment: 113.2 x 56.4 x 13.8 mm

But the default style for the rating bar is too large.
I've trie to change it by adding the android style : style="?android:attr/ratingBarStyleSmall"
But the result is too small and it's impossible to set a rate with this property.
I had a Desire but now have the Wildfire and things look bigger on the wildfire then on the desire like Apps icons and when im using the internet so would like to know if there is anyway of making things look smaller? I got the internet settings to the lowest that i can but it stills look big to me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was smsing this morning on my HTC Hero using the normal virtual keyboard that came with the phone. But all of a sudden, the keyboard changed into something different.
The keys became smaller, the number keys are with the alphabet keys(on top), and there is an extra key to toggle to tamil(?) characters. And when I type, there is no more 'feedback' from the screen. The auto correct feature is gone too. how to get my old virtual keyboard back?
I'm trying to copy a series of small bitmaps into a larger one, arranging them side by side without any gaps or overlap in their pixels. For example, if I have 3 square bitmaps, I'd like to copy them into one long and thin rectangle. I know how to do the opposite, namely creating a small bitmap out of a larger one, but not this way around. What's the right command? I want to do this to be able to reuse some code I wrote for handling animation with a single bitmap.)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an application built for 1.5 and I am adding higher resolution drawables to support hdpi devices in 1.6 and above.My original application icon is 48x48. I created a second launcher icon that is 72x72 and placed it in a res/drawable-hdpi/ directory.When I install the application on my Nexus One the icon looks good when I view it in the application menu.But when I place it on the desktop it appears small relative to other icons, my guess is I'm seeing the 48x48 version with no scaling.Do I need to do something differently either with my directory structure or my manifest file to get things to display correctly?

I've searched around but have been unsuccessful in finding anyone who's done such a thing before. I have made the font smaller within conversations using handcent, but the keyboard entry field remains elusive. The app spareparts has and option to shrink the overall font, but that setting within that program does not function on the droid x.
