View 23 RepliesI have the HTC One running Android 4.1.2. stock. I was wondering if it was possible do have the caller ID image go fullscreen without an additional app.
I've used a couple apps before, but there always seems to be an extra step, and it seems to interrupt the normal usage of the phone, like having to press more buttons just to hang up and the like.
I guess I'm asking whether or not we'll ever be able to have fullscreen caller ID images natively.Or, is there an app that more or less seamlessly integrates into the phone experience so there doesn't have to be extra button pushes?
I'm using an app called Not Call Log that I can set to take back to the home screen after a call instead of well... the call log. lol Do you think that may be interfering with Fullscreen Caller ID apps? Is there a way to not have the phone go back to the Call Log after a call natively?
How do I make an activity full screen? I mean without the notification bar. Any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search, but turned up nothing. (I also GOGGLED, but didn't get a proper answer). When someone that I don't know calls my HOUSE from their HOUSE, my caller ID shows the name and number. When someone that I don't know calls my EVO from their HOUSE, I only get a number. I realize that it is probably a SPRINT issue, but does anyone know why Caller ID on our wireless phones does not work like our HOME Caller ID? I realize that if someone is stored in your address book, that their name WILL come up. But was curious why we can't get a name from strangers. Believe it, it would prevent me from picking up a lot of cell calls if I knew who it was.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a call or a text message from someone it displays their phone number instead of their name that is in my phone book. How do I fix this as I have tried goggle and the user manual and can't seem to find it. Before I synchronized my Outlook contacts it was working fine but since adding my Outlook info I can't tell who is sending me a text or phoning unless I recognize the phone number.

PS - everything seems to work fine the rest of the time.
Is there a way to make you phone number private on the HTC Evo through settings?
If not, how can one turn it off and on on the fly?
My friend was talking to me about an application my friend has, or that it comes with the phone, but I can't seem to figure out a way to do it.
So the application basically sends the caller a customized SMS if you do not pick up the phone. Say you call me, and I didn't answer, the phone automatically sends the caller a text that you set up beforehand that could say 'I'm sleeping, I'll call you when I'm awake' or something along those lines.
Anyone know what it is or how to configure it if it comes with the phone?
Has anyone experienced unknown caller showing up on the caller id, and people saying that they called your phone and it not ringing?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a new EVO, and have some issues with the contacts. I transfered my contact from outlook to Evo. In some contacts I have phone numbers that have different people's name at the end of the phone no. under the same contact. i.e. in contact of my friend named Josh I would have his wife's number as well, therefore under mobile phone I would have one number which will have josh at the end of the number, and other number will have his wife's name at the end. When I receive a phone call from Josh, my phone will not bring up his name in called ID, it will just list the phone no. When I had a windows mobile phone it always listed the name. somehow android will not do it. Does anyone have solution to this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched to the Incredible from BlackJack on AT&T. On the BJ there was a function that would allow me to toggle between hiding my phone # or having it displayed on calls to people w/ caller ID. It would read the setting from AT&T network and allow me to change it directly on my phone.
I prefer to not display my number when I make calls. However, about 20% of my calls are to fed/state/local gov buildings. In many of those cases they do not accept calls from numbers that won't display on caller ID. In those cases, I would just switch the setting.
I can't find anything on this type of capability in the Incredible documentation. According to VZ support, this can be done but only by calling support each time.
I would like to developed full screen caller application in android
how can i add my activity on top of the call screen of my phone.
The one thing i miss most about my iPhone is the caller ID/ visual voicemail capability that came standard. is there anything offered in the market that is comparable? I miss being able to look at the call log and see where calls originated.
View 6 Replies View Relatednoticed something weird with KitKat, and confirmed this on two different phones (Nexus 5 and Moto G but running latest KitKat 4.4.2). On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else.
My wife reported the problem first with her Moto G. At first I thought she might just be accidentally hitting a button after calling someone (this is her first smart phone and first touch screen phone) but it's happened several times for her. Final catch was today when I clearly had it happen to me (it also appears it may have happened before once or twice on my phone). I had called someone using my bluetooth in my car, at the end of the call I pushed the hangup button on the steering wheel, and the call ended. Then my wife picked up the phone to call another person and we both noticed it was calling some other friend of ours (that I had txt'd with maybe 2 hours before). It had just started calling this person for no reason. We quickly ended the call (hopefully it didn't bug them), but wow is that annoying.
It seems to happen every once in a while right after hanging up with another call. It seems to call someone in either your recent call or txt history. I'm not sure what might trigger it as it doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what number it chooses to call (though it does appear to be someone you recently called or txt'd).
Does anyone know how to change the amount of times their phone rings before the caller is sent to voicemail? When I call my phone from another phone it only rings four to five times before it goes to voicemail. However, when I call my wife's eris it rings six to seven times before sending to voicemail. My phone is on v3 leak and my wifes is a stock 1.5.This is really frustrating because it already takes at least two rings from the other end before my phone even acknowledges someone is calling...and yes i've changed my slot cycle down to zero...so by the time it starts ringing the ringtone only lasts about five to ten secs.not enough time at all to even try to answer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedCurrently my application allows the user to set the application to run in full screen. I than check in every activity at onCreate() if the user has set to make the app run in full screen. Is there a better way to do this? I have many other settings that I do and I find this method a little bad in terms of code design. Is there a way to set full screen for the lifetime of app or until I set it back to not full screen? One way to do it would be to have a custom Activity class that does these checks and all my activities can just implement it? would that be slow is it recommended?

I try to find resources on how to develop a fullscreen IME (one that covers the whole screen size) for Android. Someone asked the same question here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2749964 but no response so far.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've created a device targeting 2.1 and having a screen screen size of 480x800 (WVGA). Some apps, including the one I'm currently writing, as well as the ApiDemos example, won't run fullscreen. I've uploaded a screenshot here: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/503/emulator.png. What could cause something like this? If I run these apps on my HTC Desire (which has the same resolution), they utilize the whole screen like they should.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using the following attributes for an activity and expect a window to resize automatically to occupy space available above IME: android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustResize" android:theme="@android:style Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" When IME is opened the window does not resize and the bottom appart is hidden by the IME. I've observed that if I remove the Fullscreen flag, window resizes as expected. Is there a way to make window resize with Fullscreen flag?
