Android :: Way To Make Window Resize With Fullscreen Flag?
May 11, 2009I am using the following attributes for an activity and expect a window to resize automatically to occupy space available above IME: android:windowSoftInputMode="adjustResize" android:theme="@android:style Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" When IME is opened the window does not resize and the bottom appart is hidden by the IME. I've observed that if I remove the Fullscreen flag, window resizes as expected. Is there a way to make window resize with Fullscreen flag?

Aug 19, 2010I have some activities and I have to display a fullscreen ad image before displaying the activity... all my activities extends a custom activity and I thought it was a great idea to implement that advertisement there, so I did: code...
This works nice... the ad is displayed for 3 seconds and it closes automatically. The problem is that the activity that should be hide for the ad is being created faster, so the user can see it for a second before the ad is created. How can I avoid that behavior? How to make sure the ad activity starts before the another does?

Sep 25, 2010I want my activity to appear in the list of activities (gallery. live wallpapers, etc) that you see when you try to choose a wallpaper from the home screen. Im assuming this is done with intents but cant seem to find one that works. The closest one I can find is:

but that doesn't work and seems to be used for something else.

Aug 19, 2010Currently my application allows the user to set the application to run in full screen. I than check in every activity at onCreate() if the user has set to make the app run in full screen. Is there a better way to do this? I have many other settings that I do and I find this method a little bad in terms of code design. Is there a way to set full screen for the lifetime of app or until I set it back to not full screen? One way to do it would be to have a custom Activity class that does these checks and all my activities can just implement it? would that be slow is it recommended?

When the user has the B activity open, and then put my application into the background, and later my application's process is killed, when the user starts my application again, B is opened instead of A. This caused a force close in my app, because A is the activity that initializes the resources my app needs, and when B tried to access the uninitialized resources, B crashes.

Feb 24, 2010I am currently firing an Intent to a Broadcast Receiver which in turns starts an Activity.
Then from the same Service another Intent is fired to a Broadcast Receiver thats in the Activity.
The problem is that the Activity isn't getting the Intent meant for it because it is fired before it is alive and the Broadcast Reciever is registered.
I was wondering is there anyway to make sure an Activity is alive before sending an Intent?

Some apps, including the one I'm currently writing, as well as the ApiDemos example, won't run fullscreen. I've uploaded a screenshot here: http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/503/emulator.png. What could cause something like this? If I run these apps on my HTC Desire (which has the same resolution), they utilize the whole screen like they should.

Android : Soft Keyboard In Fullscreen / Extract Mode
Sep 11, 2009When Android is in portrait mode and the soft keyboard IME is shown, my app is resized properly. When in landscape mode, the soft keyboard IME is always in fullscreen/extract mode, and even though I can see the top portion of my app, it doesn't resize my app. I couldn't find any way to make the IME not come up in fullscreen mode. So instead, I detect this condition, and manually resize my app. This works, but unfortunately, to make this work well, I need to know the height of the IME, or the portion of my app that remains visible. But it seems there is no way to get this information, and the soft keyboard IME's height varies on different devices. As a hack, I put in options for the user to be able to adjust these parameters, and set the defaults for the G1. I can live with this for now, but is there a more appropriate way to handle this?
In addition, even in portrait mode, if the status bar is hidden, the IME also does not resize my app. This clearly seems like a bug to me.
General :: Android 4.1.2 - Caller ID Image Go Fullscreen Without Additional App?
Jun 23, 2013I have the HTC One running Android 4.1.2. stock. I was wondering if it was possible do have the caller ID image go fullscreen without an additional app.
I've used a couple apps before, but there always seems to be an extra step, and it seems to interrupt the normal usage of the phone, like having to press more buttons just to hang up and the like.
I guess I'm asking whether or not we'll ever be able to have fullscreen caller ID images natively.Or, is there an app that more or less seamlessly integrates into the phone experience so there doesn't have to be extra button pushes?
I'm using an app called Not Call Log that I can set to take back to the home screen after a call instead of well... the call log. lol Do you think that may be interfering with Fullscreen Caller ID apps? Is there a way to not have the phone go back to the Call Log after a call natively?

Masking the password input in portrait vkp mode works fine with this change but when I rotate to landscape mode, in fullscreen virtual keyboard mode it doenst worked.
