HTC EVO 4G :: Outlook Web Access?
May 18, 2010
Tried searching, but didn't find any existing threads that addressed whether or not the EVO would have access to Outlook Web Access (OWA) through it's mail app. Does anyone know if OWA Access will be a feature? I'm upgrading from the Instinct and, while the EVO kills it in nearly every way, this is the one thing that I'm nervous about giving up because it makes my life so convenient - my work won't let me tap into their exchange environment.

I noticed that there was an earlier thread on this subject; however, it did not appear to solve my problem. I am trying to access my outlook exchange account on my EVO's standard email app using OWA. I've tried a few different configurations with no success thus far. I was able to access my exchange account using my blackberry. Can anyone give me specifics as to how I can set this up on my EVO?

I have one work calendar that syncs via Exchange and I have a personal calendar on Outlook on my home office machine. I would like to have access to both of them on my Incredible, but separately. As an attorney I cannot put my client information on Google servers.
I've been told by various support people (HTC, Verizon, etc.) that I can have two separate calendars if I get a second calendar app. I have not found one besides the included Droid calendar that syncs with Outlook.
Does anyone have a recommendation or solution for me?

I am trying to use my new Droid to connect to our Exchange 2003 email. I can access it just fine when I am on the companies Wi-Fi (both OWA and Active sync), but when I try to connect from the internet, I cannot see either. Odd thing is that if I use Opera Mini 5 Beta on my Droid, I can connect to OWA, but the default browser wont allow it. My Iphone is working fine on both networks, so I know the system is working properly.

My college has Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access email. Is it possible to get this on my Eris? If I need to contact the Help Desk at school what information do I need to ask them? I can access it from a browser but thats a pain.

I finally got my work email sync'd on my Android phone (Outlook). However, all my annoying meetings from work are now popping up as "notifications" in my phone's status bar. I can't stand corporate meetings, which are a colossal waster of time, and i don't want to be reminded of all the meetings on my work schedule. I was able to successfully turn of the Outlook mail notifications on my phone (and I still get Gmail notifications, since they are two separate email systems, which is exactly what I want). How do I turn my "Outlook calendar reminders," but still be reminded of my Google Calendar reminders, which is my personal, and far more important, calendar?

I even tried flashing a custom rom (Fresh) on the last attempt and it just seems like it is giving me the Sprint stock Rom. Shouldn't the custom Rom look different? Once rooted do I still need to use Unrevoked method to grant superuser access for Apps?

So I cancelled my all access trial, I don't find it useful to me, even though I cancelled it, I'm still seeing radios, and other all access features. Will it disappear from my Google Play Music after it's supposed to expire (06-07-2014)? My account type still lists as All Access...

I have an Eris that's a POS, at least as far as syncing to Outlook for my work calendar but especially emails. The Verizon store is willing to get me an Incredible and was wondering how well it plays with Outlook (specifically receiving/sending emails),through a Pop3 server?

I haven't been following the WP7 release but was under the impression it would be available in about a month. Then I heard it wouldn't be available on Sprint for another year. My contract was up on my HTC Touch Pro on WM6.1. Upon seeing my son's Samsung Epic Galaxy 5 Android 2.1 (on Sprint), I decided to give it a try. Much of it blew me away, but he doesn't use the same apps as I.
I picked up the Epic this weekend. I've noticed a bunch of features I really like, for example how it handles BlueTooth. The AMOLED screen is fantastic. Most of the other stuff is just a matter of things I have to get used to.
There are a few things I really don't like and I have 30 days or alternate programs to figure out how to get them to my liking, all having to do with Office 2010 apps that I use regularly. I'm running SBS 2008 with Exchange and Win7 on my primary PC.
1. I'm old school and never got used to alphabetizing contacts by first name. I prefer company, last name, first name. Anyway to change that?
2. I have 60+ folders in ten branches in Outlook. The Android app displays them in tabs across the top. I'd much prefer a tree display. Any way to do that?
3. I did some searching to find an easy way to sync Outlook Notes (or OneNote or even a third-party app) between my PC and the Epic. Unfortunately a search turns up all the information on synching Outlook.
4. Anyone have a recommendation for synching Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx) between the phone and my PC or server?

Is there anything out there better than HTC Sync? The HTC Sync is a pain. In order for it to work I have to uninstall and re-install every time.

Is there an app that directly sync the Samsung Fascination with the Outlook client WITHOUT having to go through the crappy Google calendar? I currently use the Google supplied sync app and it is a piece of crap. I does not resolve conflicts. It does not delete entries that I have deleted oin Outlook. It does not transfer appointments that were created by others that I have accepted. I never had a problem with my old Win Mobile phone and Active sync. I cannot connect to our Exchange server for updates so I must sync directly with my local client. I am getting so sick of companies telling me how I should be doing stuff. First Verizon with all the bloatware you cannot remove and now this. I was told I could sync just like my old phone. Using XP with Office 2007

Is there any way for me to get them back? Oh please, please tell me that there is. I was prepping my phone to transfer all of the contacts over. I spent a long time in Outlook updating the contacts. Then I deleted all of my phone contacts so that no "bad" info would flow back into Outlook. I hit sync, and viola all Outlook contacts are erased.

I have a huge problem with duplicates and modifications of my telephone numbers after synchronising with Outlook 2007 and 2010.
My question: can my Desire synchronise with Outlook 2000?
I have tried HTC Sync 2 and 3. I have tried removing agd.exe. On my Vista and my W7 laptop it works, albeit creating duplicates and keeping me occupied going through 1600 contacts manually. On my XP desktop with Outlook 2000 it does absolutely nothing, stating that contact can't be copied from the PIM. But this is my master database, which would resolve all issues.

I switched from a BB to the Droid Incredible. With the BB I could sync my outlook contacts and calendar via bluetooth, with the incredible I can do it with the "HTC Sync" plugging into the usb but I can't seem to find a bluetooth option?
There must be one? right? I mean, they thought ahead so people don't have to bring the wire with them everywhere?

I know this has been discussed all over the internet but I'm a computer "user" only and don't particularly understand a lot of the computer terminology in these discussions. I would like some very simple straight forward answers in lay person language. I work in a company that uses Microsoft exchange and outlook. I currently have a blackberry that syncs everything wireless and seamlessly (ie., contacts, emails, tasks, calendars, notes). I would like to get a new Verizon Indredible but company does not and won't enable active sync (whatever that is). My question is is there a program that I can install directly onto my office PC myself that will "push" or otherwise wirelessly sync all of my outlook information that is currently synced on my Blackberry? Pardon my ignorance.

I am looking for a way to keep my contacts and calendar from GMail in sync with Outlook. What is the best way to do this? I used the Google Calendar Sync in the past, but I didn't like it. As for the contacts, I am wanting to keep EVERYTHING synced with Google, such as contact photo, notes, ect. I do use more than one calendar on Google. I am not sure if that would make a difference or not. Is the best thing to do set up my own Exchange/Activesync server? Or is there an app that will do just this?

I'm using HTC Sync to sync my Outlook contacts to my Hero... The contacts sync as expected but everytime I perform the sync the time on my Hero is set 30mins forward which would correspond with the time in the eastern states of Australia. I've checked the timezones on my PC & Hero and they are set correctly. I've scoured the net for fixes but haven't found a fix for this annoying issue. I did discover that in a previous version of HTC Sync you could set the timezone within HTC Sync during the installation if it detected a mismatch, but I wasn't presented with the option to set it to get it's time from the PC...

I just bought my first Android (Acer Liquid) and there are a few apps which I think I can uninstall ....
a) Messaging - I use handcent SMS now not the default app.
b) Acer Sync - Does this just sync with Outlook? I don't use Outlook or need to sync any windows files.
c) Default Browser - I now use Dolphin so the default browser.
d) Email - I just use Gmail.
e) Gmail - I think accessing Gmail via a browser is now Google's best supported method.
f) Gmail Storage - as above.
g) Nemoplayer - I use TuneWiki.
h) RoadSync - I do not use Outlook. This sounds the same as AcerSync.
i) Sync Feeds - Not sure what this does.

Is there a way to sync my outlook and exchange data as the same appointments and info on my phone? For example: When I was on winmo, my Exchange appointment and outlook appointment would update each other not create a duplicate. Now that I've synced my PC, I have the same appointment twice on my phone. Green for Exchange and Orange for Outlook. Is there anyway to keep the data the same? In other words, if I have a 5pm meeting on exchange, and I sync with outlook, I want both sources to update the same appointment. Not create another 5pm meeting.

So anybody played with HTC Sync to synchronize Outlook (2007) calendar with the EVO? I seemed to get a good sync at first, but now when I add a new appointment on the phone, it doesn't get back into Outlook. If I add something on the PC in Outlook, it gets pushed to the phone just fine. I cannot get anything to go from phone to PC, however.
