Just got my EVO (black) few hours ago and when I left Best Buy it had said Columbia, which is where I got it but now it is saying "Cleveland", not sure if it means MO (state I am in) or Ohio or what. I am actually 10 miles from Columbia in a different town/non-Columbia address. I have rebooted the phone and that didn't do anything. Is this normal?

View 13 Replies View RelatedLast night I updated the ROM on my Orange UK HTC hero with the hope that it would take away the lagginess and make it a much more usable phone. My knowledge of android as of last night was; I had no clue what rooted/unrooted meant(I am still not totally sure) or what a ROM was or did. I will go into the method I used further down. Firstly, the results are amazing! The phone runs faster now with all my applications open than it did before after using task killer. When I say all applications I mean Google Maps, Skymap, places directory, robodefense, youtube, beebplayer, camera, pktauctions and many more, all open and still no lag on the phone. The process to upgrade the Hero is in two parts both of which are demonstrated in two videos from unlock.com. Part 1 The first video (linked below) is relatively simple, the only pitfall I found was with the second file you need to download. It is insinuated that you need to unzip/extract the file on your pc before you copy it to your phone's sd card. I see there are multiple different customized firmwares that enable root. But are there any firmwares that are exactly the same as the stock 2.01 or 2.1 firmware, except for being rooted? View 4 Replies View RelatedI tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried removing it and adding it back about ten times and it still won't show the weather..just says "my location" under the clock. If I click on the clock and load it, I can then click on the clock and it will load the weather screen, updated and all...but it still refuses to load it on the home screen with the time. Happened a few days after froyo update. How can I get the weather back as part of the clock widget??

Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
So I got the 2.2 Update. If I try adding the News & Weather widget, the weather is always wrong. Always has the sun on all night and temperature is wrong too. I checked all options of course, should work fine. Has anyone else encountered this?

It also used to update the weather every hour and show a sun in the day and a moon at night but now even at 12 at night it still shows the sun. It keeps saying when i refresh weather info unavailable. IS anyone else having this problem? This just started happening yesterday morning prior to that i had no problems with it. Maybe it's just my imagination but ever since I started using the Weather Channel app it seems like my battery doesn't last as long. Does anyone know if it uses more battery juice than Weather Bug?
