Oct 16, 2010I could have sworn there was a tab for lyrics in pandora but I cannot find it anymore. Was I hallucinating?

Android :: My Samsung Galaxy S Didn't Display Install Wizard
Jul 13, 2010Well one of those things are a lie. The wizard might have started and I exited it by accident, as I turned on and off the phone after first start. I have done some form of reset by dialing *2767*3855# but I have not been able to do the factory reset by pressing the power button while holding the volume down button. Jun 9, 2010I tried firmware update too and said there's nothing. My brother has the Hero too and I remember last week I believe he told me this update showed up on his notifications bar at the top, and I had no idea what he was talking about. Assuming that was the .6 OTA, why didn't anything show up on mine? Also, if in case I did get it, how do I know?

But it just sat there for a half hour, then I got tired of waiting bc I had to go to work and just rebooted the phone, but I never got the green updating arrows, what do I need to do?

Aug 19, 2010I plan to go to verizon later today to see what they say, but i anticipate little to no help from them... so i decided to post this here. i tried the forced update to the stock 2.2 a couple weeks ago to no avail... kept getting this error every time i tried:

Installation Aborted, so i decided to wait for the OTA update... had it waiting for me when i got up this morning... pressed install and let it go to work... came back 20 minutes later and it was still on the triangle w/ exclamation logo... so i let it sit longer... came back yet another 10 minutes later it was on the Motorola logo and just stayed there for about 5+ minutes (i let it sit for awhile to make sure it was done) so i took out the battery and restarted... and no update still "2.1 Update 1" now what do i do?

Jun 30, 2010I've had the evo since day 1. On the first day, HTC released a firmware update that included a fix for SD card corruption. I updated the firmware, then swapped out the 8gb card with a 16gb sandisk card I purchased at radio shack. It worked great until today. I shut off the phone, then turned it back on several minutes later. Once the phone reboots, I got a SD card damaged message at the top. I turned off the phone, reseated the microsd card, then turned it back on. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I have turned the phone on and off it still states that the SD card is damaged.
I've never rooted the phone, never dropped it, and its been great until today. I've seen this problem before with HTC made windows smart phones and I can't believe they can't get this right. I normally don't get too pissed out these kind of things, but this time I am. I'm on vacation and took lots of photos and I'm worried they're lost. I won't know until I get home. In the mean time, any suggestions? I will be calling HTC at some point today, but I'm sure they will be as much help as the firmware update that was suppose to fix this major issue. Are you having the same issue? What's the real fix?

Nov 7, 2010I had notification saying I had to update my phone software. I backed up my settings then plugged my phone to my PC and started the update. Followed every instruction and restored my settings back to my phone. I checked on the ABOUT PHONE in the SETTINGS section and noticed that my phone has not been updated at all. Firmware version is still 1.6. Build Number is 1.2.A.1.174. And to top it off........every time I get a delivery report of my credit balance.......the £ sign has been replaced by a white diamond with a ? sign inside it!

Sep 23, 2010I did the ran the EVO update this morning and tried Pandora immediately after and the sound quality is much better on the "normal" setting.Seems to be back to pre-froyo update before it got @#$@ up.Is anyone else seeing this after running the update.

HTC EVO 4G :: Pandora - Slacker - Not Working After Update
Aug 5, 2010So I used to be able to have google navigation running, pandora or slacker in the background playing music, and even take a call or two all at the same time.
When navigation spoke some directions, the music would halt just for the time being then play right away once directions were done.
NOW, however, I'm guessing due to the froyo update - if I have pandora playing and navigation running, directions comign up halts the music as before, but instead of resumign automatically, I have to manually go back into pandora and hit play again. Even worse, in slacker, it will pause the music, but when it "resumes" it does so by skipping to the next song!
Has anyone experienced this change or does anyone know what I can do to get things back to normal (except remove froyo if even possible). I like the other changes froyo brought other than this one.
HTC EVO 4G : Google Navigation And Pandora Issues After Froyo Ota Update
Aug 3, 2010After installing the ota froyo update, I am having problems running Google nav and pandor. Whenever the nav gives directions, Pandora pauses. Before the update, it would mute then unmute Pandora when it was giving directions.
This is a pita b/c I have to keep unpausing Pandora after each direction. Anyone have a solution?

Aug 8, 2010I just allowed the latest software update this morning, and since then most apps will only display sideways (or landscape). By "sideways" I mean with the longest screen width horizontal rather than vertical Previously apps such as Gmail and Internet would display normally, and when I rotated the screen sideways it would rotate the display and resize the screen automatically. Now, it just automatically displays sideways but I cannot get it to display normally.Oddly, it now also rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise, which I don't think it did before but the real issue is not being able to view screens without rotating the phone now. Was that intended because I hate it!

Nov 8, 2010Yesterday my Droid 2 got automatically updated to 2.3.20.A955. It worked fine yesterday. I turned it off when I went to bed and now this morning after turning it on, it appears to be functioning except the only screen display I get is the white M (Motorola logo) that normally appears when starting up. I have tried to turn the phone off and on several times, although with no display it's hard to even know if it's happening. So far, nothing.
Edit to add: Well, I took the battery out and put it back in, now it's working. I should have tried it earlier but I didn't. I'll leave the thread up just so people know there is an issue.
HTC Droid Eris :: Display Not Working Correctly After Manual Update
Jan 4, 2010I manually updated the phone with the file that was posted here as the leaked update. The process was easy and pretty much headache free. I used the trial version of MyBackup app and it did what its supposed to do. However I am facing some problems and have some questions also.
1. It seems that my display is not working correctly now. Maybe it is just me, but i can tell that that the backlight is not as responsive as it should be. It doesnt go to the set brightness level as fast and smooth as it was.
2. I let MyBackup restore the apps also and it was a mistake in my opinion. It erased the apps in "My downloads". Now not only can't I find a certain app (USA Today seems to disappear...and no, not the USA Today widget one. that one sucks. Anyone knows what happened to it?) I also dont know how to uninstall an app if it is not in my downloads. I suppose in manage applications? Correct me if I am wrong.
3. For me YouTube app started working better, but still says it cant play video in High Quality mode.
4. Anyone using something different from the People app?
5. Could not find a post about how to erase the vocabulary you added. I spelled something wrong and need to get rid of it.
6. The email is set to update once i day..still i get the notification as soon as I receive one. Help?
Overall, there is a little speed improvement. I didnt notice any drastic improvement, but its just quicker a bit. However, Id rather have my display back to working the way its supposed to be. I can wait until the OTA officially comes out.
Samsung EPIC 4G :: Sprint Update About Phone Public Display
Aug 10, 2010we all know that sprint has had a page about the Samsung Epic, with the full spec sheet, but there was no sprint news release about the phone which means they were still not about to go all out advertising the phone. As of aug. 9th however, they have updated their news page to have the Epic be publicly displayed in their newsroom. Nothing in the link we already don't know (specs wise), but this does mean that they are beginning to make actual advertisements for the phone which only means the release date is drawing nearer.

Apr 16, 2010I want to transfer a face recognition application from PC to android phone. But in the source code of the application, the libs "com.sun.image.codec.jpeg.JPEGCodec" and "com.sun.image.codec.jpeg.JPEGImageEncoder" are contained in JRE and are not supported by android SDK. I tried to add JRE to our build path. Although, I can compile the program without error, the program cannot run on phone and the logcat shows that "Could not find method com.sun.image.codec.jpeg.JPEGCodec.createJPEGDecoder". Does anyone have some suggestions about that?
