I was using the phone reading email and the battery indicator all of a sudden went from 50% to 5% and i got a prompt telling me to charge it. I knew this could not be right and i proved it by surfing the net for 10 mins and watching a video for 75 minutes before the phone died. Has anyone had this happen to them?

I have noticed that the battery meter on my captivate (SRE + lagfix installed) is very inaccurate. For instance, I got the low battery notification and plugged my phone in when it got to 8%. However, the second I plug my phone in the battery meter jumps to 34. I unplugged it and sure enough, the battery stayed at 34%. Anyone having this problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was using satnav at the weekend; the battery level indicator on my Desire went from green to orange (20%) and the existent data connection dropped off straightaway. I was unable to re-establish a data connection even after switching the phone off and on again. I was in an area of reasonable/good network signal strength. The GPS continued to function however so I could still see my progress on the map but a data connection message appeared.
When I got home the phone continued to function on WiFi (with GPS on too) for nearly another two hours before it turned itself off, so there was plenty of "juice" left. My question is as to whether there is anything I can adjust to ensure that the battery continues to function fully (ie maintain a data connection) until it runs out? Or whether at 20% the phone is somehow set up to end a data connection? I have now got myself an HTC car charger to make sure the battery will not drop that low again when I am using satnav.
Does the battery indicator use a lot of battery power when used ?

I've had a Droid X2 for almost 2 years, and as phones usually do, the battery life became pretty bad. It would get to 5% and then quickly die halfway through the day.
I purchased a new battery, and found it to be just as bad (supposedly). It would be down to 5% by noon without much usage, so I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and not an old battery. I'd just turn it off or try to find a charger...
It took me a few days to realize that it lasts hours past when it gets to 5%. HOURS. It reached 5% at about 1pm EST today, I used it my whole commute home on the train, made a two 5-10 minute phone calls this evening, and now past 9pm it still hasn't died.
So, it's not the battery. It's not the worst problem to have... but it would be really nice to know how much battery I have left.
Note: I rooted my phone about 1 week before I got the new battery.
Anyone else having issues with their GPS putting them in random spots. I open up GMaps and my GPS definitely has me in the wrong spot (off by a good mile or two.

Nothing fancy, no estimation of remaining battery life nor fancy eye candy. If it can show a more precise reading than the Milestone built-in one, which only decreases in 10% intervals, fine, but only if this isn't a drain on the battery. I know there are several such apps, but which do you think is the best for my needs? There are so many it's hard to try them all and choose. I just want something basic and simple which doesn't drain the battery. I tried "battery indicator" and "battery status pro"; they both do what I need, but I'm afraid they might be an additional drain on the battery.

The app Battery Indicator Pro received an update that will tell you how long before your phone is fully charged so you can pull your phone from the charger right at green light/fully charged. Nobody should experience the 5% dropoff in battery power using this app. If you can't pull the phone off the charger as depicted by the app, I don't know what else to tell you.

There seems to be a problem with an uncaught exception and reflection, although....why does it work on API level 10?
I absolutely love this app! They just updated the app so that it will log what's using the battery. The app will now provide you with battery power left depicted in time by usage, for example heavy usage. I'm loving the update. Also, if you have the app log everything that's utilizing the battery, you will see a decrease in battery power. So read the tips/hints the developer included with the update before having the app log everything.

I just want to get an idea of what everybody else is using. The one I downloaded from the appmarket is cool for being free, but if anybody has recommendations, I'd love to hear them. I really want the one that HTC makes, but it's only available for the N1 and Desire right now. Post up the different ones being used.
View 20 Replies View RelatedLately I've had a problem with the Battery in my Desire.When I charge it, the fist 10-20-30% of my battery just drains in no time. Like this morning, it was fully charged when i left home, and i have around 15 minutes to work.The phone was just laying there while i drove, and when I got here it was already down to 94%.I looked through my calendar, and then it was down to about 90%.It's been an hour since then, I've only used it for a few texts, and now I'm down to 79% battery left.With the kind of use I've had today, my phone would normally be around 98% at this point.There should be nothing running in the background, and no other syncing than a bare minimum.Spare parts tells me there's been basically no use.Trafficstats doesn't show any unusual traffic.It's like the battery is just draining itself for no reason.Been like this for over a week now.Any ideas to what I should do?
